- kankerfist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The interface is really rough. Once you get used to it though it can be a lot of fun. The FreeCiv developer's AI is way better than the AI from the old civ games too.

So this story falls under the old catogory, and for those that have known about free civ for 5 years-the story sucks. What it means in this context is that the person is willing to do *anything* to get their story on the front page - including submitting a crap story that is years old. By implication, the person is to have sex with someone just to get their story front paged. This, of course, is an exageration. At least I hope so.
I'm sure if someone did want to do that - they could video tape it, blog about it, and then submit their own story saying "Digg User Has SEX for Front Page Story!" - kinda the reverse of that guy who got 2,000,000 visitors so his girlfirend would do a 3-way with him. - soogy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Hurrah for low requirements to play games. Unfortunately, I can't play the latest Civ (IV) on my laptop. Most people already know about FreeCiv, but it's good to let them know from time to time that Civilization = teh win.

- Xiol, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1While I appreciate and fully support that graphics don't make a game, there needs a lot of work doing to the Freeciv GUI before I can play it. I'm not sure what it is about it, it just grates on me. I think it's cos it's using GTK boxes and such in the game rather than, I dunno, something custom (e.g. SDL).

- faddat, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Just to add my $.02...... Freeciv is a great game without good graphics. I've spent countless hours playing FreeCiv online and it's quite enjoyable. Graphics don't make the game, you know....
