- WiiUSgame, on 12/12/2007, -1/+50for me, Command & Conquer will be always strategy.
- BenKenobi88, on 12/12/2007, -1/+35I expect quality from EA as usual. ...
- Nichael, on 12/12/2007, -8/+39I really enjoyed Renegade. I'll be looking forward to this.
- Nidy1, on 12/12/2007, -3/+27Sorry that it wasn't a point and click Halo boom-fest and you actually had to use strategy...
- GhostFreeman, on 12/12/2007, -1/+23To expect quality from EA is to hope that parallel universes cross each other.
- tman84, on 12/12/2007, -1/+19OUR LIVES FOR KANE!!!!!
- ByteGuerilla, on 12/12/2007, -0/+13Yes, Ted, that was the joke.
- Nodaki, on 12/12/2007, -3/+16Renegade single player was awful. The multiplayer component had the best action that I have encountered in my years as a gamer.
Various classes, great objectives, flawless vehicles, different strategies...with the exception of the graphics it was absolutely flawless. - benitojuarez, on 12/12/2007, -1/+12Renegade was awesome, it was an fps i was actually good at, I consistently ranked in the top 300 while on dialup. I still have it around here somewhere and I busted it out a year ago but its just full of cheaters now.
- ninja0, on 12/12/2007, -5/+16if by quality you mean no quality, then agreed.
- Klarth, on 12/12/2007, -0/+11Renegade 2's cancellation pissed me off for that very reason. It was set between RA2 and Tiberian Dawn, and the antagonists were a group whose emblem was a scorpion tail (a la NOD) combined with a hammer & sickle (a la USSR).
Oh; what could have been... - JonnyTrombone, on 12/12/2007, -5/+15EA has ruined the Command & Conquer series by de-linking the games and getting rid of the original plot continuity. All of the Westwood games were linked by Kane and NOD. But EA has pretty much disavowed that. We may never know the true origins of the Brotherhood.
- Deval, on 12/12/2007, -0/+9I wish they came out with a new Red Alert universe game...am I the only one who wishes it was expanded on? I play it still to this day!
- aksn1p3r, on 12/12/2007, -1/+10Yea i cant wait to play it!
- tman84, on 12/12/2007, -1/+9i guess you've never played the C&C Tiberium Wars series to get the joke.
But the life i live is a secret one, with your mom, a lampshade, a midget, and some thousand island dressing - NeoCortex, on 12/12/2007, -1/+9I think you misspelled 'quantity'. I'm sure we'll get yearly iterations of this game with each one having a fresh coat of paint and a couple new weapons.
- MrMacMan, on 12/12/2007, -0/+7let's wait for, you know, some more tangible evidence before completely throwing the idea into the garbage.
I mean, C&C3's expansion Kane's Wrath is coming for your strategy needs soon anyway. - spiralspirit, on 12/12/2007, -0/+7Because it gives you an already existing brand name to catch people's attention with, as well as providing a great deal of direction in terms of aesthetics, in game units, and storyline.
- MrMacMan, on 12/12/2007, -1/+8I'd prefer a Command & Conquer: Red Alert Shooter, but andy C&C news is great news.
Renegade was pretty decent, let's see what EA can do with Westwood's better ideas. - tman84, on 12/12/2007, -1/+7i wanna play as Billy Dee Williams. Hopefully his special power up item will be a Colt 45
- Ventolin, on 12/12/2007, -1/+7I hope they make a third Hell March song for this.
- antdude, on 12/12/2007, -0/+5Multiplayer was fun. I wished it was more of a RTS game too. Commanders setting up bases while players fight as infantry, in vehicles, and planes. Basically, something like ET:QW, Natural Selection, etc.
- strictnein, on 12/12/2007, -0/+5What does Andy have to do with it?
- victimofkratina, on 12/12/2007, -18/+23renegade was one of the worst shooters ever made. they better not make it anything like that.
- Ioncannon, on 12/12/2007, -0/+4While playing C&C_Hourglass:
everyone save for stanks and flames, rush the agt when ready. GDI has 4 mammys and like 6 hotwires healing the damn things. Rush fails. - antdude, on 12/12/2007, -0/+4Who doesn't release patches with stable games? id Software, Blizzard, etc. release multiple patches. Get used to it!
- BleedingEars, on 12/12/2007, -1/+5Meh...looks like EA is going to run another franchise into the ground.
- MeatyVitamin, on 12/12/2007, -0/+3Renegade's biggest problem was the AI on single player. The multiplayer was excellent for its time, good weapons, innovative system, not just the "capture the flag, kill the enemy stuff" but calling in a freakin Ion Strike was good times. Nothing makes you puff up your chest like seeing a giant beam of light of your doing streak out of the sky and blow their command center to smithereens!!!!!
- guestaccount, on 12/13/2007, -0/+3Life's a bitch.
- Dundasbro, on 12/12/2007, -0/+3I thought that the Red Alert series could not be linked to the Tiberium series because they are on alternate timelines...? Like... The Red Alert series was based on Einstein going back in time and killing Hitler and what would happen then, but Tiberium Wars is on a totally different timeline of events because that didn't happen in that. Especially after the release of Red Alert 2. That's how I saw it anyway...
- RealHyperX, on 12/12/2007, -2/+5Can't wait for the Mac version!!! oh wait....
- Dunge, on 12/12/2007, -0/+3Renegade was not bad... but it had some strange feeling in the way you move and shoot. If they can do this type of game (with base building would be even better) and use a good engine instead it might work pretty well.
- benitojuarez, on 12/12/2007, -0/+2They will they switch back and forth, well except for generals, I think that was a just an experiment to help flesh out how they would approach c&c 3, thats way they could create a crappy franchise without ***** up ra or c&c. But yeah it go's c&c + expansion then ra + expansion then back to c&c
- Klarth, on 12/12/2007, -2/+4My life for Yuri!
- guestaccount, on 12/13/2007, -1/+3That was all he could type before crashing.
- jeet404, on 12/12/2007, -2/+4Wrong game buddy :P
- foolsgold, on 12/12/2007, -0/+2I seem to remember EA licensing the Crysis engine for this very purpose a few months ago, but I can't for the life of me find a link to it. This is all I could find: http://www.mediafeet.com/2007/03/03/crysis-goes-in ...
Anyone else got anything about technology related to this? - ferrariman60, on 12/12/2007, -3/+5Renegade may have sold better if the "commando" on the front didn't look like a half-evolved monkey wearing goggles on his forehead, and more importantly, if the game didn't suck. They should do one with Tanya as the main character........ and make it third person so we can look at her huge, uh, .45's from any angle we want. Or, barring that, make sure there are plenty of cutscenes that capture the general feel of any FMV scene featuring Tanya from Red Alert 2.
- Sinudeity, on 12/12/2007, -0/+2Sort of like halo releasing an rts.
- dwninjungleland, on 12/12/2007, -1/+3$$$
- Namesbond, on 12/12/2007, -1/+3I love RA95, Red Alert2, and now Tiberian Wars. With that being said please just stick to RTS. How about a Tiberian Wars expansion. Red Alert 3 announcement would get a digg out of me.
- inactive, on 12/12/2007, -0/+2Red Alert 2 and the crap of Yuri ***** it up. Great game but it really did ***** over the unification theme.
- matthewkg, on 12/12/2007, -0/+2I'm a mechanical man.
- JonnyTrombone, on 12/12/2007, -0/+2Red Alert was originally going to be linked to the Tiberium series by Kane, who was helping the USSR. The Brotherhood -may- go back thousands of years, with Kane being some kind of immortal or something (there are indications that he may be the Biblical figure of Cain). And if EA hadn't ruined everything, we'd probably know way more of the story by now.
- dsmx, on 12/12/2007, -0/+2The problem with EA is they concentrate on making the menu's and the graphics look nice but ignore the gameplay which is the most important thing. So I expect this game will look great, have brilliant menu's but lacking in gameplay.
- guestaccount, on 12/13/2007, -0/+1Top down view negates fps.
- Matri, on 12/13/2007, -0/+1Don't forget Savage: Battle for Newerth.
- guestaccount, on 12/13/2007, -0/+1Thats it, time to play renegade.
- HsoKinees, on 12/13/2007, -0/+1I remember reading that EA would make their games MAC compatible by wrapping them or something? or, possibly, they might run on MAC-OS
