- NikoKun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20hmmm... if this page wasn't suspended it might be pretty cool... I wish i could get this script... to run it off my own webserver for myself to use, thus saving bandwidth for everyone and myself... XD
- TheThing, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Here is another piece of truth: you do not have to read it if you don't want to. Thanks for your trolling.
- ipodman715, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Ok, I set up a mirror that works:
http://wii.go.dyndns.org (easy to remember!)
Enjoy! - jayyoung, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8you cant sell a webpage for people to use. it is retarded to say people can not host this.
your site is dumb and your way of getting traffic to your site (and your ads) is ridiculous.
this will probably be a feature in the full version of the browser, and until then, i am sure someone else will come up with better tabs anyway. - kodek, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Let him have his fun. He'd probably has to ask mommy and daddy for some lawyers this christmas.
- JohnP, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8But your site is a non-existent pile of crap...... No offence, but at least get some decent hosting if youre going to support it all by yourself.
P.S. Is it really special enough not to be open source? IF the site was up it could be ripped off pretty easily, and this isnt exactly genius idea territory. - kwazyJAS, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8you're a ***** dick.
- kodek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7The only reason why I haven't blocked you yet is because your comments make me laugh. Keep 'em coming.
- speaker219, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I got a MIRROR set up:
http://untitled1.ca/~charlie/wii/basic.htm
the tab titles don't work, although i was trying to set it up, and i made a "gettitle.php" script which is required, somehow the ajax is broken and will not get the page title. If anyone wants to try to fix it here is the PHP Script source (to get the title of the url):
argh, digg strips the php script...here is the source:
http://untitled1.ca/~charlie/wii/gettitle.txt - Brightside, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6dude, get a life. stop trying to peddle your crappy website. somebody else will write a script that does what you have done and will be nice enough to release the source.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Can you get the source? Please!!
- monkeymad2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6TrueJournals is the guy who wrote it, i saw him say so in a post earlier on today on another site...
I need a life... - Shorties, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10Link for those viewing this in your browser http://team-dsx.net/ds/basic.php
- Hindu_Wardrobe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6@TrueJournals:
But they can't buy the product if the store is inaccessible, now can they? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Does anybody know if pandora.com works well in the wii browser?
- armo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Why do people bother writing comments like this? Don't like it, don't read it, don't digg it! There's clearly a lot of "fanboys" who want to know this.
- pakkman781, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Ok:
http://download.35mb.com/pakkman781/WiiTabs.zip (sorry, all other upload sties are being arses XD)
However, this is my edited Google version (I deleted the original) and I know it's uncool to edit someone else's code and upload it like this, but since the site is down, and it was going to be edited anyway, so I uploaded it. All credit goes to the original guys tho, and when their site is back up, make sure and use their version instead. Like I said, I'm just upping this for until the site is back, and I'm not responsible for how you use it. I'll probably delete it when the site comes back. - DD32, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I dont own a Wii, or have access to one...
But i'm just thinking, as an Opera(me being what many call a fan boi), Does "opera:config" work on the wii? (no quotes of course)
It wouldnt suppprise me if theres a tabed browsing option in there somewhere if it does work...
D - JudgeMonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Tried the site linked here and only got to a log in page, tried one of the mirrors and got things going. I didn't try it on the wii browser, just my pc, but something that looks functional VS a bland log in page.... hmm, tough choice.
- JohnP, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5TrueJournals - IF you are relate to the site, can i just say how lame your comments are.
No one is trying to steal your idea, they are trying to USE your idea. There is no reason why you cannot protect AND distribute something like this. Your host cant even handle the traffic, so why not share? - juzza87, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4My computer has a Wii Remote :P getting better with every glovepie release too :D
- Chris24, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I saw this before the web host shut it down ( bandwidth exceeded ). I know the webmaster, so I heard of this soon after it was posted early this morning.
- Sniper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Missing ie_methods.js....get it here: http://unlimited3.dnsprotect.com/~twitmirr/digg/wii/index_files/ie_methods.js
- Sniper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Get rid of the login and I will....
- freff, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5What sucks is some guy modding the Opera browser to tab on the Wii and hosting it to a crappy webserver, and then acting like a dick to everyone on Digg is just going to give Opera a blackeye to a bunch of people who have never tried it.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4well its down, any alternatives?
- Sniper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I think theres gonna be more than 3 mirrors...Looks like you'll have your hands full for quite awhile :D
- Hindu_Wardrobe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Thank you SO MUCH.
You deserve six blowjobs. - synt4x, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3For those that got to examine it when the link was working, did this even look safe? I'm just guessing it was implemented with frames and javascript, and it seems like it would be really easy for someone to monitor everything you were doing.
- Sniper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It actually kinda sucks. As soon as I click a link in yahoo the tabs disappear.
- Darth_tater, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i see, now... the tabs are on the page, not done in opera. i guess that makes it so there really is no practical limit then?
- monkeymad2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Just tried, Doesn't work. ("Invalid address" screen)
- Brentley_11, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Since most of these tab sites require registration I created my own version that is open from the beginning. It also is styled to look like the browser gui. You can view it here : http://brentalan.com/wiitabs/
- Lumiras, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It's dead, Jim
- bertsisterwanda, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3url not working for me
- xerokitsune, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That was the second address I put into the browser, unfortunately that doesn't work with the Wii Opera.
- Darth_tater, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Is there a limit to maximum number of open tabs like there is on the PSP?
- kodek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"Thank you SO MUCH.
You deserve six blowjobs."
Blowjobs? and SIX? What's wrong with you? - speaker219, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Edit:
My mirror is down. The owner of the site emailed me and said that NO MIRRORS ARE PERMITTED... So we just have to wait until their site comes back up :( - Hindu_Wardrobe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Can you upload the source somewhere?! Please?!
- clinko, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1someone try http://hdivo.com
I wrote it to do the same, but haven't tried it on a wii yet. - DeejayKnight, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5I know exactly what you mean. I have a couple servers I could post this on for personal and friend use that would save a ton of this guys bandwidth.
Why wouldn't this kind of info be spread anyways? I'm sure there are TONS of web designers (myself included) who would like to design for the Wii and would find this extremely useful! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Its back up!!!
- kodek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Doesn't matter what it's made out of as long as it works."
It does matter, because one can't send new links to other tabs with the push of a button. That's one of the main advantages of using a tabbed browser. - Gatesophile, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well, it IS a beta browser, so it is a work in progress...
- pakkman781, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Doesn't work? Worked fine for me, but it might just be because I was using Opera on the Mac, and mebbe Opera on the Wii handles it differently...
Thanks for the fix, nonetheless :) - HappyScrappy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Just an implementation of tabs, not a function of Wii browser.
This is just spam, someone trying to leverage Wii-madness to drive people to their site. - Sniper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Doesn't work
- fanboydcs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1im alittle late to the comments but does anyone know if there is a way to fix the zoom? when it zooms it zooms in way to much when hit only once, I wish they would make it more incremental. Also the d pad should control the up down and left right on the browser, but it is deactivated, ugg. Also there should be an option to get rid of the annoying arrows for scrolling, who needs that when you could just use the d-pad? Well it is just a beta, maybe there is a way to hack the opera's input.conf file or something...
- Tigergrape, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1so can anyone share the love in code? I'll try that opera thing now actually....
