- calebhawk, on 10/12/2007, -6/+31psshhh psp? lets hope something like the original xbox
- WolfDV, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12@kruykaze = theres nothing "wrong" with psp hacks (I do enjoy my psp from time to time) . . but they aren't near to the level of org xbox hacks/mods (the sheer amount of ways to mod and the homebrew make it a legend among hacked consoles) (XBMC is awesome)
- TonyCubed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10I'll translate this for you.
The article says: "Morons use CAPS LOCK to speak." which was aimed directly at you. - kruykaze, on 10/12/2007, -5/+15@calebhawk what's wrong with the psp hacks?
- kaytrio, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10don't worry mrgoat... at least i understand your humor
- Gullop, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9kernel sanders?
- kaytrio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4for those wondering, FTA:
"Note that right now, booting up with the 1888 kernel doesn't bring any real advantages (except maybe booting the kiosk disc from recordable media), but it might come in handy later." - DTJunkie07, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4@anicejewboy formally known as anicejew
unfortunatly Im going to have to digg you down on the basis of stupidity....again - Splitt3rxx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Great, this is exciting! I can't wait to downgrade my kernal.
- Markus123, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It says he has "probably" found a way to downgrade it but hasn't been able to fully test if it worked yet
- chedabob, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Not really a massive find. Theres no exploits been found, and the average joe doesn't have the skills to desolder the flash, build a custom reader/writer, and then read the code.
Although if an exploit was found, I couldn't see why somebody couldn't make a solderless adaptor (like on the ps2 solderless chips) that clip onto the chip, then flash it. - CanadianGeese, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Who would really want to do this, though? I personally love the dashboard and every update. Can people post to this thread and explain what they hope to get out of it?
- satansbanjo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Subtle though it may be
- 2ndDairy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's so they can mod the 360 to run other code, like the original Xbox was modded.
As the article said, this hasn't been accomplished yet, but if you can keep Microsoft from patching holes through auto-updates, you'll always be able to exploit the same vulnerability once one is found. - etx313, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Woooooord!!!
- HappyScrappy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah. It's cool, but since he had to remove his system flash and socket it to do so, it's beyond the reach of most people.
- QuiescentWonder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm pretty sure the dashboard can stay the same version while the kernel version changes so things like the kiosk disk can be run and you still have all your new dashboard features. If any dashboard features depend on kernel updates I can see how that would be a problem but no one knows if that's going to be a problem yet.
- epsilon72, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's nice to finally see some progress, although this doesn't really accomplish anything by itself. Hopefully this will lead to bigger things in the future.
- WiiBit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Booting the original kernel will certainly 'fix' the E71 error thrust upon me during the Fall update. If there was only an easy way to make the original kernel boot... hmmm..... Key combo?
- calebhawk, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1took the words right out of my mouth
- Slippy, on 10/12/2007, -9/+8Im in ur xbox downgradin ur kernelz
- jasonyates, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3All I have to say is....you retard.
- sinner0423, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2This isn't a big deal per se, downgrading a 360 kernel wouldn't really make any sense. The huge find was when someone figured out how to flash the newer 78fk dvd drives so that burnt games could be played.
- venuspcs, on 10/12/2007, -7/+5Dude he didnt say using the eighteen eight eight kernel he said using the 1888 kernel.....As in kernel version 1888.
// mrgoat marked as retard // - hungryduck, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Just put Xbox Linux on it and stop complaining. Thank you.

- mageofdeath, on 10/12/2007, -14/+8this is a huge find, maybe we'll get something like the psp's hacked firmwares...
- foshizlak, on 10/12/2007, -7/+1Sheesh mageofdeath, anyone would think there are fukcing scissors sticking out of your fukcing arm.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -13/+1not to spam or anything but join us at this recently dugg game ... need more players ... its a command line mmorpg
