- pbaehr, on 10/12/2007, -2/+89Well, since you mentioned it, it won't slice bread.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+55Now all the digg Nintendo/Apple fanboys have something new to drool over. I'm gonna write a game in which you beat the living ***** out of a Zune with the Wiimote for OS X. I'll make a fortune!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+40except the wii is not to be used as a toster.
- ronaldst, on 10/12/2007, -8/+40Is there anything the Wii won't do?
Best thing since slice bread. - coldphoenix, on 10/12/2007, -5/+39Screw the Wii, I'll just take the WiiMote.
- merr, on 10/12/2007, -6/+32@baugles
They prefer "Catholic" - Quix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+24Yeah, quicker than I expected too. Wiimote as a Bluetooth Keynote/PowerPoint controller? Why not!
- unamas, on 10/12/2007, -1/+25wow, that didn't take long...
- coldphoenix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+22I really wish Nintendo made it a rechargeable controller.
- Antialias, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18There is already a 3rd party battery cover coming out that replaces the batteries/cover with a charger and cradle.
- hoowahman, on 10/12/2007, -13/+29@baugles
I use to eat Jesus in church...I'm not kidding. - negativefx, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18I'm pretty sure the japanese manual clearly states not to slice bread with the wii.
- crilen007, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14"Well, since you mentioned it, it won't slice bread."
All we have to do is convert/add a high voltage IR LED, and it will. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16wii+apple. nice combo. the homepage is your, buddy!
- KyleMistry, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13"except the wii is not to be used as a toster."
Sounds like a challenge to me. - lansuggs, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Xbox fanboy + Windows fanboy = Microsoft tool
- hoowahman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12I hope yall have batteries on hand.
- UGM2099, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Bluetooth.
- UGM2099, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9The Wii forced me to purchase batteries for the first time in years. Pre-iPod days, if you can remember those...
- sewerhobo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8"Mine" as in Wii Remote? Or "Mine" as in computer? Or "Mine" as in brain?
- briguymaine, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9** ignorance ahead **
So the wiimote is bluetooth? This sounds very cool. - Quix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Yes. And yes.
- EtherGnat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Rechargeable battery packs/charger: http://gonintendo.com/?p=8781
(wheel and other accessories too) - ralfy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6For spam ? Are you stupid ?
- Bigdee4933, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Thats a really cool idea. I wonder how hard it is to control.
- Foma, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Once they get the IR sensors working so that mouse input is as nice as on the Wii, it will be perfect for people with computers hooked up to their TVs.
- bigteebo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5As fark would say: "The Wii trifecta is complete"
- Pixellore, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6I predict that the wiimote will usher in a whole new way to control our desktops. I call Revolution.
Goodbye Mouse! - wikk!d, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Fanboy = consider thinking for yourself and possibly not just jumping on the bandwagon because it's the thing to do.
- RyeBrye, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"gave my coworkers a laugh"
Why TF do you have a Wiimote at your office? - ThinkBox, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5This app is cool, i just tried it out... but its virtually impossible to control it like a mouse - since it is almost always giving feedback it is hard to keep it still -- and the buttons I press dont correspond to what the app thinks im pressing
- shauncullen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Damn it, now I have to buy a WiiMote, this is the final straw. As an added bonus, the WiiMote comes with a Wii.
- Broccoli, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Cool but worthless as of now. Besides if they learn how to read the ir sensors will it be that great becasue you would have to be back from your computer.
- nipterink, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4they've had mice that work like this for years... it's hardly new technology.
- N1XUK, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Its all about a pair of these AA batteries that charge directly from the wii usb...
ww.usbcell.co.uk - jsully, on 10/12/2007, -6/+9You know what's going to be sweet is when they write a driver so this works under linux on the PS3.
- arkowi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3can't seen to get this to open, just get "the application DarwiinRemote quit unexpectedlly"
anyone else experiencing this? - sewerhobo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I can't move the cursor, but everything else seems to be working well!
- UGM2099, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It's brand new, give it time (or better yet, give the developer feedback). It works (mostly) for me.
- Lisztman, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Click on the Japanese words in the little flash banner on the right hand side. Totally awesome and creative navigation method!
- sweetlew, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That's just too awesome. That means one less remote if you've got a Wii and a media-center Mac in the living room. Plus, since it's bluetooth, you can drive Front Row on the mac without line-of-sight.
- DannyPage, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Nah, its a freaking Wii trifecta here everyday. Besides, there isn't a lot of selections for stories in the Gaming section anyway...
Now if there were 3 different stories about Atari, that would count... popular subjects just don't apply. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Outstanding. Hopefully it won't be too much longer before someone gets this working as a combination apple remote + mouse. Even modal would be nice: click 1 or 2 to switch between remote and mouse. Then one input device would take care of everything I regularly need to do on my home-theater Mini.
(Yeah, I know, I can use an Apple remote and a Bluetooth mouse. This would be better, not least because using a mouse from across a room is a little bit weird-- the scale of motion just feels off.) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Next: Use Wii remote with your pants!
- UGM2099, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Not hard at all. It worked like a charm for controlling FrontRow.
It actually feels slightly more responsive than Apple's remote (on my Intel mini). - RafiParrr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I get the same problem on my G4 iMac, running Tiger. Anyone know a solution?
- choopie911, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ugh, wont work for me. Keeps telling me its found, but cant connect. I follow the steps given, but each time, no dice.
Anyone else? - lansuggs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The graph and rumble and LED are cool, but in mouse mode the pointer moves down and right when the wiimote is level, and it is difficult to move the pointer without rotating the controller a lot. Hope this gets fixed
- mvanhorn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Anyone else having extreme difficulty moving the cursor? Can't wait for IR support.. wonder if that will make it work well
- ndrw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1works fine on a dual g5... had to really exaggerate my arm movements to get any real movement out of it though. gave my coworkers a laugh. Wonder if that has to do with my lame little bluetooth module, or if the acceleration just has to be tweaked. Also, needs multi-monitor support. thanks, keep up the good work!
