- 13tongimp, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15I thought this game was going to be about Black Jesus.
What a letdown... - nx01, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Am I the only person that looks at this picture and envisions this guy saying, "Roll up bitches!".

Ok, maybe it is just me. - artofwar420, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5How can you compare it to those games? Really tell me?

0_o That is all.
Source FTW. - Tarantulus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5OMFG that is t3h S3CHS!!!!!
seriously, that looks so great, I just hope it lives up to the hype, and runs on my pitiful machine....
any idea of minimum specs? - ArchieAndrews, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Please join me in reporting both tibb and manumitx to abuse@digg.com for comment spamming for their own submissions.

Sound Card: DirectX 9 compatible sound card
DirectX Version: DirectX 9 or higher
Hard Drive Space: 3 GB free
Peripherals Supported: Windows-compatible mouse and keyboard
Supported Video Cards:
NVIDIA® GeForce™ FX/6/7 families
ATI® Radeon™ 9/X families
(Laptop versions of these cards are not fully supported.) - defubar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I have a P4 2.6 HT, X800 Pro and Gig of RAM. If I put the game at 1440x900, which is my LCD's native resolution with high settings, I can run the game rather smoothly (30-40 fps or so) with a little lag in wide open areas in the demo.
- spect3r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2block & report this fool
- Loonacy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm not sure about the end result, but the demo seems to run about the same as HL2, at least on my machine.
- obh21, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3i cant wait for this
- spect3r, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Source engine is insane. Good job Ubisoft!!! I've played the demo, and it is quite good :)
- eplawless, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I played the demo on Steam a couple days ago, it should still be available. It's everything I hoped it would be; the physics are wonderfully applied to traps and such.
- defubar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The demo is awesome and you can get it if you download the Steam client.
If you like stabbing, impaling or even sneaking up on Orcs/Goblins and just murdering the hell out of them, then this is the game for you.
It's kind of like "Elder Scrolls: Oblivion" fighting, but more fun IMO and using the Source engine. Think FPS but stabbing, clubbing, impaling and outsmarting the enemy by using the environment to your advantage.
You can kick the enemy into fire, long falls or spikes. Can spring traps in the environment with the bow from a distance. Of course there is magic too but stabbing stuff is fun. Can't wait for the full game. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5farcry and doom3 were fun?
- cogen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Downloaded the demo from Steam and gave it a go. Seems fun, but locks up when I go to enter the "Crystal Room" after you get to mess around with those guards. Have restarted twice now. :(
Maybe I just need to lower the graphic settings or something...? - Splitt3rxx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I played the demo, this game is incredible.
- cuddleparty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1dl the demo. it's good fun. love the bow and arrow.
- Bioshocker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This game is near the top of my "most exciting games this Christmas" list.
The setting is a bit unfortunate and unappealing - I'm not really a hardcore fantasy guy, but the gameplay looks just amazing. "FPS" is really the wrong word for it, especially since there's very little shooting. It's more akin to a kind of fantasy Deus Ex, where you play missions but can approach situations in dozens of different ways. Add to that it uses the Source engine's physics in really imaginative and exciting ways, and you have a game that I hope sells as much as it deserves to.
The demo is a massive download for short playtime, but if you have the bandwidth, I highly recommend looking past the "orcs are so cliché" surface and checking it out. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Really? I just saw it as a medieval HL2. Beautiful, exciting, and yet you merely have the illusion of choice and free will. The levels, at least in the demo, seemed incredibly linear. Honestly, didn't really see much that hadn't been done before somewhere else.
- BabyWookie, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Hit the wrong reply. Bury.
- Mekun, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1manumitx thx for the link to your digg submission i dugg it down for ya for being a spammer.
- ray901, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Looks very much like the second version of ARX Fatalis, from the images anyway - the first time I saw them I thought that I was looking at ARX Fatalis 2. (which was delayed/dropped because of the wait for the hl2 engine) - http://www.arxfatalis-online.com/index_eng.php - a great game
Looking forward to the release of DM. - Wytefang, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Sadly, after playing the beta, I cannot recommend this to anyone. The melee portion of combat is mildly enjoyable (at best, being rather lite on the combat options) but what dooms this game is the archer and magic classes. Reason why is that when you're trying to use a ranged weapon like a bow or cast a ranged spell against a moving target, it's virtually impossible to hit them because of the speed of ranged attacks in the game. An arrow doesn't travel as fast as a bullet, nor should it be programmed to in the game, so player dodge these attacks with ease and most spells as well.
Overall the game just had a hectic, unorganized, floaty feel to it. The single-player portion might be enjoyable but I'd give the multiplayer portion a D+/C- at best. Don't believe the hype, wait for the reviews before blowing money on this game.
Just my suggestion. - devindotcom, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1I'm looking forward to it too, but do you think Oblivion stole some of its thunder?
- artofwar420, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2lol?
- zemkacz, on 10/12/2007, -8/+0i also got the demo. the game is pretty cool if u got the rig to run all on high but when i play the game it feel like its not as fun like bf2 or farcry or doom3.
