- tsunamisteve, on 10/12/2007, -16/+235"Widespread" on the internet equates to a small number of people with blogs.
- RadiantBeing, on 10/12/2007, -9/+104In the olden days before blogs, people would just apply Crazy Glue and be done with it instead of posting endlessly to forums and taking countless photos of their tragedical crack.
- Gir53457, on 10/12/2007, -41/+9And by small number of people with blogs you mean forum goers with out actually having a cracked DS.
- cybernetic798, on 10/12/2007, -9/+54Yep, this is basically like with the Xbox 360 fiasco, where a few complaints became 95% of users lol
- Dakoman, on 10/12/2007, -7/+31i just checked mine and it has a little crack. nothing a little bit of superglue won't fix, no need to get your panties in a twist! ;)
- motang, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11Well it is the digital age, and it is well known fact the more noise you make the more you will get people's attentions.
- davidv, on 10/12/2007, -14/+8So according to all of you above me, when the first playstation 3's start failing it's not going to be widespread, but only a vocal minority right? No take backs!
- diggmaddy, on 10/12/2007, -21/+15THIS IS ALL SONY's WRONG DOING!
- bigred, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9And don't forget the 1/10th of 1% of iPod nano owners who cracked their screens when apple sold those millions of defective nano's to everyone.
- ajb2015, on 10/12/2007, -7/+5i didn't even notice this until I saw this article. I hope it doesn't get worse.
- TheCount, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7Exactly, I've got a DS Lite that I play regularly, not a flaw to be spoken of.
- zonk3r, on 10/12/2007, -9/+9mine is fine.
but then again i don't sit there opening it and closing it and treating it like an old pair of shoes like a 12 year old ADD ritalin junky. - nars, on 10/12/2007, -19/+10nintendo fanboys and their unwillingness to admit to nintendo having any faults.
- The_Decryptor, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9"nintendo fanboys and their unwillingness to admit to nintendo having any faults."
Nintendo products have faults, just like any other product, but in this case a issue with some Lite's that gets turned into "widespread problems", when that just isn't the case.
- darryl242, on 10/12/2007, -11/+47Mine is cracking :( But that's what extended warranties are for I suppose.
- user123, on 10/12/2007, -97/+10if you read the damn story you would notice that even with the warranty they are being charge $50.
FFS dont digg the article unless you read it! - Tu13erhead, on 10/12/2007, -2/+76@ user123
If you read the damn comment you would notice he said "extended warranty", meaning something that one buys on top of Nintendo's standard warranty.
FFS don't diss the comment unless you read it! - Stwo, on 10/12/2007, -16/+4at least there's no hard drive to worry about losing all your stuff
- awfulshot, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1yeah, mine too.. Of course I didn’t even notice it until this article, I fiddled with it and it doesn’t seam as though it will break more so I don’t care..
- pintong, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I found a crack on mine the day before I found this article. I was nervous until I noticed that it's purely cosmetic - only a small section was cracked that didn't seem to affect the hinge in any way.
- ArekRashan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2user123: I didn't see anywhere where it mentioned that people were being charged $50. Even if the story did say so, it would be a *lie*, because Nintendo will replace your DS for free under the standard one-year warranty. They'll even send the replacement to you first if you pony up five dollars. If you can live without your DS for a week though, it's free.
- user123, on 10/12/2007, -97/+10if you read the damn story you would notice that even with the warranty they are being charge $50.
- bluemeep, on 10/12/2007, -23/+12Glad I've got a DS Brick instead.
- Raybdbomb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2And it's ALLL your fault for trusting the dude who released the DS brick.
- jimmyemunoz, on 10/12/2007, -6/+21Just return the damb thing to the store you bought it from. End of the story. I always buy at Circuit City because they have a "no questions asked" return policy.
- britkev1, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23Yeah but dont forget it has to be within 30 days (14 days for some items).
- thewebguy, on 10/12/2007, -13/+4i bought mine at circuit city since it was the last place open and i wanted one right then.. worst buying experience evaaaar.
also, mine is not cracking. - schurkenstadt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5or half a year if you live in europe ...
IAL - lcohiomatty86, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10@thewebguy
i guess u've never shopped at TigerDirect then.. have ya?
- kamaru, on 10/12/2007, -5/+23Got my DS Lite on release day and its been in my pocket almost everyday getting banged around and such as normal for electronics in the wild.. No problems, just checked the hinges and hardly even a scratch on it. *shrug*
- gandre, on 10/12/2007, -19/+3How do you scratch a hinge?
- Odweaver, on 10/12/2007, -3/+36Same way you scratch an ipod.
- musteval, on 10/12/2007, -8/+23With a scalpel.
- Erroneus, on 10/12/2007, -7/+41with soft cotton
- Araya213, on 10/12/2007, -5/+26"Same way you scratch an ipod."
You mean, by breathing on it?
Anyway, I got my DS Lite on release day and no crack, take it everwhere with me. - Stwo, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14http://www.appleshield.com/movie/demo/blaze_demo_lg.mov
- Shorties, on 10/12/2007, -10/+1Holy Crap where can I buy one of those apple shields?
- andywirtanen, on 10/12/2007, -5/+8http://www.shieldzone.com/
(found the URL by typing "invisible shield" into FF's address bar... aka a Google "I'm Feeling Lucky" search) - funduk, on 10/12/2007, -11/+1uhh, from appleshield.com?
- Shorties, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3@Funduk Appleshield.com doesnt work,
Anyway I should of noticed it was http://www.shieldzone.com/ thats the fist thing the video shows, I guess I just missed it. Thanks andywirtanen! - muikano, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5Dont buy the invisishield from shieldzone. You can get the same protection from cheaper brands. And they all use the same technology. Its just marketing. They know ipod owners want the best way to protect their ipods. Any clear plastic you apply on an object needs adhesive. So their lying straight off the bat.
Second, fish hooks or things with small surface will scratch up any plastic. Its better to just get a lot of cheap plastic things, Brasso solution, and a cloth to wipe glasses with.
You will ***** up your invisishield evenutally. The lifespan is just the same as the cheaper ones. That's why its so expensive. they arent expecting repeat business.
- JLD3, on 10/12/2007, -8/+6Got mine on release day and no problems at all with it.
- coheedcollapse, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5The original DS is sturdy as hell. I bought mine when they first came on and although it's bulky, it feels as if I could drop it from the top of a small building with no problems. Like a turtle in it's shell or something.
I haven't been able to handle a DS Lite yet, but I hope this isn't a widespread problem. Nintendo has such a good record for quality (in my eyes), I'd hate to see problems arise with their new handheld.- RandomSkratch, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2@Software2
You forgot the almighty "Insert cart without touching sides of slot and pressing down as slow as you can while reciting 'Please Please Please' the whole time and then turning on the console with your eyes closed". - pacdude, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2This is the first time i've seen a reply above the original post. Wow.
- RandomSkratch, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1what the heck?! I swear I replied to the correct post... damn digg v2.0
- Dracker, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0NES had a lot of problems with the connector to the cartridge.
With that notable exception, Nintendo systems have been more reliable and sturdy than anything else I've tried.
- RandomSkratch, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2@Software2
- Nero51, on 10/12/2007, -17/+8"Oh well, thank god they only cost 130 and not 250 like the PSP!"
By saying that, it's as if you enjoy hearing people bitch at each other as to whether or not a DS is better than a PSP, and if that's the purpose of the statement...just know that both are targeted at different audiences through their games and functionality, and they are both amazing handhelds.
Also, the PSP may be 250, but it doesn't crack when no abuse is done...
The PSP does get scratches easily, but that's the owners fault in some ways.- Spaz007, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I got my PSP refurb for only $125 straight from Sony. Works and looks new.
- Lososaurus, on 10/12/2007, -9/+7@Nero51: You're right, the PSP's 'square' button just doesnt work and there's dead/stuck pixels everywhere!
- Blah_Blah_Blah, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3@spaz007
dam i wish i bought a refurb one. Then i would have only wasted 125 dollars instead of 250. - NeoTechni, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2@Lososaurus: DSLites also get Dead pixels. And the PSP square button works just fine
- Dracker, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1You can actually return a ds lite for dead pixels.
http://www.engadget.com/2004/12/07/nintendo-fixes-ds-with-one-bad-pixel/ - NeoTechni, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2You can also return PSPs with dead pixels
http://www.techspot.com/news/17267-sony-psp-dead-pixels-will-be-under-warranty.html
- Yashar, on 10/12/2007, -27/+8Is this a sign of whats to come from the Wii?
- Erroneus, on 10/12/2007, -8/+16Yup one problem on one product, means the same problem will occur on all their problems, forever....
- elnerdo, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11Nintendo makes the most durable systems, period. My Gamecube has fallen down steps and been perfectly fine. My DS has been tossed around by my little cousin with no problems at all. My original gameboy has been through nearly infinite abuse, and it works perfectly fine. No other game system company can compare to the durability of Nintendo.
- nlatimer, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10Actually since there are so many flaps on the Wii, it is essentially pre-cracked, to prevent the cracking from expansion, like those metal teeth on a bridge.
- matt0817, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9i beat the living ***** out of my N64, and it works perfectly fine. hell my NES still works perfectly fine.
- Software2, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15"hell my NES still works perfectly fine."
Blow, blow, blow, using cleaning kit, blow blow, jam piece of paper to hold cart in place, blow blow. - dotdan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1The GCN is one story, but the N64 systems and earlier are naturally durable due to the lack of moving parts.
- Dracker, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0If the current generation is any indication, Wii will be rather tough to break.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVRJtqPRZhQ&search=damage%20test
It's not in English but you can easily see the point being made. PS2, XBox, and Gamecube get trashed, to see how much abuse each can take before breaking.
Some have claimed that the cube could not possibly have worked after the last smash, as it's literally almost smashed in half. Knowing a cube inside out -- I've soldered a modchip onto mine - the only parts that would be really busted up would be the cooling fan and the dvd drive. Notice the bios screen is the spinning G instead of the rolling cube the last time around. It;s probably broken, but would just need a replacement drive
- TerrorByte64, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Actually I just noticed the crack on mine a few days ago. It seems to be working fine, but I'm worried it's a big problem.
- thereisnospoon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I didn't notice it before but when I just checked sure enough my DS hinge is cracked just like the example picture. I don't think its a big deal and probably caused by pushing the top screen all the way back flat (it stops normally at a slight angle to the touch screen but if you keep pushing it opens flat). I suppose you are not supposed to do that but I did a couple times on accident. Oh well I'll wait and see if it gets worse.
- Crankt, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2My original DS opens to 180 degrees like you describe. I think it's supposed to.
- Venlaw, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Yep, mine has cracked as well. Good to know it wasn't something I did.
- squaat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@ thereisnospoon
Yep I just checked mine, it has the crack as well. I too wonder if it's caused by opening the screen up to much. That being said we have two ds's one from Nth america and one from Japan. The japanese one doesn't seem to have the problem. Hopefully this is a purely cosmetic thing
- Antaeus, on 10/12/2007, -25/+4TEH PSP RULES JOO!
- Lumiras, on 10/12/2007, -6/+5I've had my DS Lite since day one, and there is absolutely no crack in that area. Also, my brother has had one for a few weeks, still nothing.
I think the claim of "no abuse from the owner" could be disputed. I treat my DS Lite like it's made out of pure gold, and I haven't had a single scratch (on an unprotected screen!!!) or a mysterious crack appear.
Obviously, with any device, it has weak points that may be prone to breaking, but I really think the term "widespread" is misused here.
Also, the DS Lite has a 1-year warranty that resets itself each time they mail you a new one. So, if it breaks, send it in, and do it again if it breaks again :)- Lumiras, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9......................................boy do I feel dumb. I just looked at my DS Lite which I thought was in perfect condition, and guess what? Mine has the same exact crack....
Oh well, it doesn't appear to be something that interferes with gameplay, and it also looks like it won't develop into a bigger problem at all - navster15, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Wow, I got this problem as well. No biggie I suppose. I wouldn't have noticed it anyway.
- Lumiras, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9......................................boy do I feel dumb. I just looked at my DS Lite which I thought was in perfect condition, and guess what? Mine has the same exact crack....
- DarkXX, on 10/12/2007, -10/+3This is something I would expect from DS Phat as the hinges on the ***** felt so deliciously feel-good breakable. (i.e. very easily breakable)
- Shorties, on 10/12/2007, -6/+8This is something that I could care less about, Nintendo's Tech support have always been great you call them with this, I am sure they would replace it no problem.
- foofightrs777, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7Agreed. Nintendo has a legendary reputation in consumer services.
- guitarpro411, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8well I called and they arnt going to do anything about it unless i pay 50 dollars.. thanks nintendo. He ADMITS a manufacture error but still its not under the warranty.
- guitarpro411, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8why am i being down digged? Im just letting people know what happened..
- Blah_Blah_Blah, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2i dont blame nintendo for not replacing the whole thing or charging to repair, since too many people would do the same, and it would kill them. Sometimes thigns like this are only cosmetic and shouldnt be dwelled upon. Its not worth the hassle and its not worth your worrying about it. Just play the game ^_^
- mockstar, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5Fine here. I hope I would be able to cope with a hairline crack that doesn't affect any functionality.
- Sakumi, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2I know several people with DSLites and no one has this problem. I don't think its AS widespread as the article claims but, I have heard of one case on a forum I visit. Nitendos response: return it and it will be replaced immediately.
- kikuchiyo11, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Having dealt with Nintendo Customer Service a number of times, I'm sure they'll replace it, if the retail location doesn't.
I've had a Japanese DS Lite since February or so and have no such problems. "Widespread" is nuts. - hamstereater, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2happens to notebook computers too, just bad plastic i suppose :)
- guitarpro411, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Damn mine has it also. Not a HUGE deal, but still its a flaw on my otherwise perfect condition Lite. I hate imperfections. Year warranty w00t
- logikil, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I haven't had the system crack on the hinges, but i do have another issue that is prompting me to return the system. The bottom section, where the touch screen is, the top cover is separating. It's not a great deal yet, but you can see the bottom screens LCD shining through where it is separating. Anyone else seeing this?
- BlakeEM, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3I was going to buy one but I think now I'll wait for the next one where they will, I hope, fix this issue.
- electromagnetic, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3Why the hell would you wait? The DS rocks and lives up to nintendo standard, if it isn't to nintendo standard then they would gladly replace it and OMFG you might lose your time settings! The pain, oh the pain of having to take 1 second to set the time again!
Before this article I'd *never* heard of this problem, if it's wide spread like the iPod Nano's self-destruction feature then I'm pretty sure I would know or have at least heard about it. All this is is some jackass wanting to get his site attention because he has 5 adverts on his site, all of which (excluding google) seem to be for one sponsor who sells modchips which to me suggests the website is incredable or they would have at least quarter-way decent advertisers and no need for 5. (just saw a 6th google ad strip below their top right ad)
Also my suggestion would be to always open it with your left hand, that way you can rest a finger on the hinge that will not only lower the stress put in it by having a less leverage it also adds support to the hinge. If you don't treat it like crap it'll last forever, I still have an original gameboy which the only damage is the little latch to the batteries that broke and was remedied by some tape and has survived falling down several flights of stairs, out of a moving car and similar with the gameboy pocket. I somehow doubt that the DS would be that fragile as to break by just opening and if it is then there was possibly a defective batch (as the DS' have been constantly churned out due to always being sold out). - fohf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@electromagnet
"Before this article I'd *never* heard of this problem, if it's wide spread like the iPod Nano's self-destruction feature then I'm pretty sure I would know or have at least heard about it."
well, you are hearing about it now. I thought it was just a bad unit that I got and nothing I could do about it, but it seems like it is not uncommon. many people have this defect in the DS lite.
- grubonrice, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4After reading the article, I noticed that my DS Lite has a crack in the same place. Has anyone with the same problem called Nintendo about it?
- guitarpro411, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Im going to send it in via warranty and see what they do for it
- Blue_Eon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Mine's fine and I've had it since day one.
- opie_wan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I treat my ds very well....only took a look now and noticed....a cracked left hinge!! I would say that this has something to do with the manufacture of the unit....and is not something related to abuse....as I treat mine like gold.
- jonnyeh, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Me too, I didn't notice the crack till I read this article just now. Thanks a lot Digg! /sarcasm
- pnevares, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Got mine on release day and I never noticed a crack.
That is until I saw this thread. Looked on the left hinge and lo and behold...a crack. Sweet. :(- SkippyDoorknob, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Same exact story for me! Argh!
- Klisk, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1No problems here.
- glafira, on 10/12/2007, -11/+2I agree with the guy at the top, it is only the snobby blog users, that either over estimate or over exagerate the numbers.
- rova, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2On the flip side, the two DS's I actually own are rock solid. Some of the best made tech in the house.
- ArtR, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0Would it be fair to question how so many people didn't notice this crack (considering the size of it in the picture) before this article? Just seems a little weird to me.
- dougfunny, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3yeah, most of these people are just trying to be cool by saying their ds has a crack.
- guitarpro411, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1dont down dig doug..(heheh) he was just being sarcastic
- pnevares, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Sure. I didn't notice it because it's insanely small on my DS. It looks nothing like the one in the picture at the link above, and it's barely noticeable until you examine it closely.
But the crack is definitely there.
- kristin364, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I got mine on release day. I take very good care of it; it stays in a case when it's not being used, it has never been dropped, etc. I just checked and there is a crack on the left hinge. :(
- Elbinray, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5aww wtf...didn't even notice it until this. Mine too has the crack on the hinge. WTF nintendo.
Recall! - eyevariety, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Add another to the cracked hinge group. I did not see it until this post. I love the machine and Nintendo has done a brilliant job. I have been very carefull with the DS Lite and never having dropped it, I expected the hinge to be fine. Instead it's cracked exactly like these photos. If it looks like this problem is effecting a good portion of owners then Nintendo needs to help us out.
- donlehman, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I noticed this on my friend's machine just last night. Good thing I'm waiting for navy or black.
- Dracker, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Also waiting on navy/black. One of the largest markets around has to import to get a choice of color, and with the exchange rates as they are now, I won't be getting a lite for quite some time.
- tbyler, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I've had mine for more than a month... it's fine. I even dropped it in my gravel driveway once. Still good.
- stickyboot, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2All hinges should be made out of metal IMO. Especially if it is on a device that costs >$100.
- snubber, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I'm replacing mine for that very reason, along with the right trigger that barely responds.
- Ashkc88, on 10/12/2007, -5/+5Notice how they still bash the PSP even when they find a problem with their DS. My DS is cracked on the hinge too, and I agree with him. >.>
- guitarpro411, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2what are you referring to? who are you referring to? "Notice how THEY..." who is they...
in other words... WTF are you talking about??! - Ashkc88, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4"Damn, guess what. I just checked. And I got the crack too!!!! And this is a Nintendo Replacement unit cause my previous one had a screen problem. Wow, this sucks. Well, hopefully it doesnt get worse, thats a huge hinge. Oh well, thank god they only cost 130 and not 250 like the PSP!"
"They", as in the quote at the bottom. Which the quote refers to the article that this digg is about, what other "they" would I be refering to? - guitarpro411, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1Well if you would have hit the reply button to that specific comment maybe "they" would have been more clear.
- Ashkc88, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4It wasn't a comment, its in the article...thats if you've actually viewed the article.
- Ashkc88, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4Way to make yourself look stupid.
- guitarpro411, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2what are you referring to? who are you referring to? "Notice how THEY..." who is they...
- cronox2, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1I had a fun experience this weekend, I took out my DS lite out of it's case...and when i opened up, half of the right hinge fell off. Now it doesn't even lock in any degree so its pretty much broken. Class action time, this is a Playstation DRE problem just waiting to spread...
- meve, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Just noticed my crack as well. :( I absolutely love the system but this really angers me. I got it on release and have taken care of it very well. I have the screen protectors on there and keep it in a sturdy case. I remember once putting it down on the couch and the screen went back into a 180degree angle. That's when the crack must have occured.
- tbyler, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2A few people here have said that because it was back as far as it could go, that's why it cracked, but I've done that with mine quite a few times actually, and nothing's happened to it. I think it may just be some that are defective and whatnot.
- Urusai, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Just noticed your crack, eh? Well, young lady, there comes a time in every girl's life when she discovers she's different from boys...oh, wait, different subject.
- bradd9000, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1It happened to me
- linkdj, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I have "the crack" as well, but I wouldnt have noticed or cared if I hadnt seen this story. And you know what? I still don't care.
- activeyaw, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1It happened to me also. White colour.
- Croove55, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1damn, that stinks, I was thinking of getting one for my bday so I didn't have to have the DS GIGANTOR bulging out of my pocket, but maybe I'll stick with what I've got.
- control98408, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1That's not really the hinge. That whole center part turns, other than cosmetics, don't see what problems it would cause.
- Ongnissim, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I have a white DS-Lite, same problem. I didn't notice it until this story.
Hmm... I wonder if Nintendo will ship replacement units by the time the Black DSlite comes to America- Thats the color I wanted anyways.
Everything else is fine though. - d8cam, on 10/12/2007, -10/+4digg is a breeding ground for Nintendo fans, sadly.
- zumbojo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Mine's just fine. No cracks at all.
All hype I tells ya.- carpespasm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1nah, it's a possibility. as long as nintendo makes it easy to rememdy it when it happens without any heavy use, i have no problem. they've always fixed defects as far as i've seen. apple's deal with the macbook problems became a problem when it took serious numbers of problems that affect the looks and ability to use the product.
- fohf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2it may not be hype though. I got my lite when it was released in the U.S. and the crack literally just appeared yesterday. and I don't mean that I just noticed it yesterday, I know it wasn't there 2 days ago and then yesterday it was. so you may not be out of the woods.
- steveoa3d, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I have had my DS Lite since Day one in USA and no crack. Someone in the forum story talked about opening it 180 degrees, I have never opened mine that far, mine makes a big CLICK at around 160 degrees and I have never tried to push it open farther ! I would think something would break if it was pushed open farther, most likely the hinge.
- rufo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6You're being paranoid - the DS/DS lite screens are designed to open past the click. You don't even have to push very hard - I'm really surprised you haven't done it before.
- darkmule, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Now that i've lightly tapped mine with a hammer, it too has a crack!
Mine has survived shipping to a walmart in hawai'i, then shipped again, to another retail store in American Samoa, crack free.
Like everyone else said.. glue! - JeremyBanks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Few people read comments this far down the page, but I just had to add that I noticed this a few days ago on mine. It doesn't seem to be a real issue, but I was disapointed.
- wurzelgummage, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Let's hope they don't apply the same build quality to the wii controller. A bunch of people shaking rattles wouldn't be cool.
