- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+36"my foot in her ass and tell her to shut the ***** up."
I'm sure you've got the classiest broads in the Trailor Park eh? - Sirocco, on 10/12/2007, -4/+30Nintendogs + Animal Crossing = All your girlfriends are belong to Nintendo.
- Dgen_X, on 10/12/2007, -3/+26oh snap!
- ImpactedColon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23My wife was disgusted that I was going to buy the DS Lite, since she just got me the DS (heavy?) for Christmas. Then New Super Mario came out last month, and her addiction suddenly began. In one month, she's completed Super Mario, trained down to a Brain Age of 20 in Brain Training, and gotten every gold medal in Big Brain Academy. Not only does she no longer want me to sell back the old DS, she has permanently adopted it.
Awesome. - brufleth, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16Got mine last weekend (oddly Starland mailed it well before the 11th) and I'm very happy with it. My girlfriend also likes it and I suspect we'll get another one eventually. In this world of hyper real games and uber systems it is still nice to play games like mario kart and tetris and even nicer to do it anywhere you want. The way the two screens are used is often quite clever and the touch screen which I thought would be sort of lame is actually a lot of fun.
- zetsurin, on 10/12/2007, -7/+18> I guess we know who wears the pants in your house.
The difference here is that both you and your boyfriend wear woman's panties. - cmw72, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I went the other route ...
I got my wife a DS for Christmas with Nintendogs and Animal Crossing. Unfortunately she doesn't use it very often. I have since become addicted to Brain Age. The problem? I spent an extra $100 on ebay to get her the fancy pink DS and now I'm stuck using it!
I can't roll with no pink DS! - RedZeppelin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Agreed and given a thumbs up. It's so annoying when insecure fanboys give thumbs down to anyone who disagrees with their console of choice.
BTW: I'd like to have a DS Lite, but in these discussions anything other than "DS Lite cured my cancer!" usually gets modded down.
"I like PSP better than DS." WHAAAAA. THUMBS DOWN!
As you stated, polite, respectful opinions shouldn't be modded down. Unfortunately Kevin Rose has yet to develop a system that screens for maturity. - Dgen_X, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7most stylus heavy games will allow you to select left or right handed, using the D pad as abxy and the buttons as a d-pad (if buttons are needed)
- rishdeep, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Does anyone find that their thumbs really ache after playing with the DS? I dunno whether its because I have pretty big hands but the position I have to place my hands around the oblong shape of the console feels really unnatural and I can't play Mario Kart DS for more then an hour at a time without giving my thumbs a rest.
Is this the same for the DS Lite too? - Trjn, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7That's just Nintendo Thumb, you get it with any Nintendo console.
That being said, after several hours of Castlevania, New Super Mario Bros and Mario Kart on my DS lite, I haven't had any of the old Nintendo thumb.
But I was very used to the original DS, so I might have a resistance. - ImpactedColon, on 10/12/2007, -7/+12I am getting really frickin sick of the thumbs up/down feature of Digg, or maybe I am just sick of digg.com in general. Sure, some jerks get their comments buried, but there is way too much randomness in what gets +/- diggs. Sure, not every one of my comments is going to change the world, but it is obnoxious to bury a normal, non-hateful, non-flaming, on-topic comment. What the hell is a discussion board for, if there's no discussion?
/anger rising - captainbluebear, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Good point, and you made me remember:
CAPS LOCK IS CRUISE CONTROL FOR COOL AND MAKING PEOPLE PAY ATTENTION. - CatfishJones, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I'm left handed with a new DS Lite. Honestly, it didn't even occur to me that maybe these games I'm playing were designed for right-handed users. I haven't had any trouble.
- rolosworld, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5so... im not the only one with this problem :-(
Im thinking on buying another DS just so I can play.... this is getting out of control, even the mother of my wife is addicted to nintendogs, and her sis addicted to new super mario. - Alegis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Your thumb hurts because it is evolving in a more useful thumb. Seriously, what did you use it before gaming ?
That's nintendo's aim - strike beyond the known gaming crowd. They're doing fine, and I'm confident they will do it again with Wii. - ArekRashan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Miyamoto is a lefty. That's why Link is a lefty, as well.
- negativefx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Not so much my thumb, but both my index fingers. Most notibly after playing Mario Kart.
- Daedalus81, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Some games are desgined to account for that, but not all.
- natefisher, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7For that comment I went I against your rant and gave you a thumbs up. Now that said I can not wait until I get a DS-Lite. I am just waiting for the other colors (I want that Aqua one).
- Honestly I read all hidden comments to see if the person is a jackass or if it is being buried for no reason at all. If it is for no reason I always give it a thumbs up myself. - rishdeep, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4No, my thumb hurts because I am having to use it at an uncomfortable and un-natural angle for my hand. I've used N64 controllers, Playstation ones etc. for hours on end and I don't suffer from the ache.
- VincentIII, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I just got my DS Lite earlier this week, and its probally my favourite video game system now. I havn't been much of a nintendo fanboy recently, more of a Sony and Xbox fanatic, but after playing one of my friend's DSs I decided I really wanted one. I so far got Nintendogs, New Super Mario Bros, and Animal Crossing. I think that my childhood nintendo fanboy has came back, and same with my girlfriends, sisters, parents and brothers old love for the systems.
- Sirocco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I had this problem with my old DS fat. I no longer have any discomfort issues with the Lite.
- robertgoodwin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2And don't forget Brain Age. What is it about women and sudoku?
- zengonzo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2
Like they are one organism, psycho? - ucffool, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yes, I got an email. Basically they are advertising for Circuit City's giveaway of Brain Age w/ the purchase of a DS Lite. BestBuy was known to do it too (at least on release day, through a printed coupon on their website).
- ucffool, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The mic is pretty sensitive, so I usually just use headphones if I need to hear sounds and it would be rude to use the speakers (which in those cases, it would be bad to be speaking into a game as well probably).
- ucffool, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The DS Lite is my first DS, and I'm left-handed and do not have any issues using the stylus.
Games I've played with:
Brain Training - offers choice of left or right.
Lost Magic - offers choice. the 'buttons' or the 'd-pad' move you around the screen, depending on choice.
Yu-Gi-Oh: Nightmare Troubadour - I like it left-handed, because my right thumb can use the B button for quick access to the 'phases' and the X button to quickly get 'Details' on the cards.
Can't speak for all games, but so far it seems that somewhere in Nintendo's recommendations on designing games they have passed on to developers that lefties exist. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Does anyone know if the DS Lite is better for Left-handed stylus users?
- Sirocco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is par for the course regarding any type of political topic at digg. I'll thumb a comment down if it's blatantly trolling or if the poster if being an incessant ass, otherwise I'll leave it as-is.
- dext3r, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3yup; my "d-pad hand" thumb starts to hurt after playing my DS Lite for awhile. i have abnormally large hands though...
- Gryffydd, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3The part that bothers me about it is that people bury the comments they don't agree with. What I mean by that is that I'll sometimes give a thumbs up to a well thought out, well written post that contributes to the discussion even if I don't agree with the poster's opinion. Those little thumbs are there to make digg better, not so you can bury comments you don't agree with.
- portwojc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1The DS Lite is great. I have been pleased with it so far. The only thing Nintendo did wrong was the headset. They're hard to track down and if you do find them it's for a DS and in some $20+ kit with extra DS stuff that won't fit well with the Lite.
- sketchstudios, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1on the bottom of the article it says nintendo is offering coupons on its website for the ds lite, can anyone confirm this? cuz i want some money savings!
- CitizenKaine, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I can't say my experience is typical, because one is a pretty small sample size. I bought a ds lite on the 11th to replace my old ds. Im currently on my fourth. The first three ds lites I got all had bad pixels. I will say now that I finally have one with good screens that I absolutely love it. The colors are so much more vivid that I'm enjoying playing games I havent touched in months.
- Daedalus81, on 10/12/2007, -9/+5You really can't get bent out of shape for it. If you're being dugg down -5 or more then you've probably said something wrong. If you are dugg down only one or two then its likely just a random troll didn't like what you said. Most people seem to read dugg down comments anyway.
- nonokiaboy, on 10/12/2007, -14/+4I CANT BELIEVE THE ***** MEDIA !!!
WEREN'T THEY JUST BASICALLY CRUCIFING THE NINTENDO DS PICTOCHAT FEATURE A FEW MONTHS AGO (SAYING KIDS COULD BE STOLEN BY PREDATORS) ???
NOW THEY LOVE IT.
I for one love the DS, however I h-a-t-e how the media can't make it's mind up about it.
I mean, is it a rapists dream gadget (no) or the best portable handheld device out there?
I love my DS Lite, I have nothing against it.
I just HATE the media.
They should make up their minds, and then stick with it! - zetsurin, on 10/12/2007, -31/+3Sounds like one hell of a boring love life there.
- zetsurin, on 10/12/2007, -38/+3Slow week obviously.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -41/+3Honestly is my wife was bitching about me spending some money on a DS Lite I would just have to put my foot in her ass and tell her to shut the ***** up.
Grow some sack man.
I guess we know who wears the pants in your house.
