- CraigB12, on 10/12/2007, -35/+4Too bad I already beat the game... A lot of people said this game was going to be better than GTA, but i must say i'm disappointed.
- Jwoey, on 10/12/2007, -2/+36I just wish people would quit comparing every sandbox style game to GTA.
GTA & Crackdown = Apples & Oranges. - NoHandle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+40Did you know Oblivion is like GTA in the middle ages?
< /sarcasm> - CanadianGeese, on 10/12/2007, -2/+84"GTA & Crackdown = Apples & Oranges."
Agreed. They have some of the same elements, but then again, I could compare Super Mario Bros to college: In both, I ran around eating shrooms and chasing a blonde in pink. - radixus, on 10/12/2007, -7/+5I don't agree that it's anything like GTA, but I do agree. The game was good, but that's about it. Once you beat the game you'll find yourself not really returning to it . . . unless the Halo 3 beta is released and you need to download it. I'm hoping the downloadable content comes quick.
Smart move Microsoft . . . . every person who has that Halo 3 offer will probably never trade in Crackdown until the beta ends. So now I have a game that collects dust. - Mootabolife, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2It's really more like pong than anything else. You have two rival gang paddles shooting each other up hoping to hit home.
- CraigB12, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1I didn't compare the 2 games at all. People hold standards to certain games that have high sales and are really awsome (GTA being one of them). I found this game to be mildly entertaining at best, and once I beat it I didn't even think about going back to play more of it. Unlike GTA where i beat the game and constantly went back to play even though i'd beated all the missions.
You people should read something more carefully before flipping out.
- Jwoey, on 10/12/2007, -2/+36I just wish people would quit comparing every sandbox style game to GTA.
- Puttockc, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2I agree with Jwoey,
but people who like GTA's Kill everything style would like crackdown.
I am personally more exited waiting for the Halo 3 Beta to be opened so I can Play! - Decimit, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Does this update not contain the fix where after you beat the game, you are required to delete your save game in order to start a new game? A major oversight in the design process in my opinion.
- TheThirdWheel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Or at least let you turn the bosses back on, random crime is fun but the bosses were more fun.
- fordicus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11if you actually attempt to kill them properly, mounting an assault, etc. then yes the bosses are fun. It's easier to bum rush the boss and kick him to death though. I was amazed this even worked on the chinese boss
- strictnein, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Yeah, I was thinking about starting up a new campaign in Crackdown last night, but then I realized there was no way for me to do so. I had originally thought that the reason there were a bunch of different agents to choose from was that each one was basically a separate game save. So, you win the game with the one guy and you want to start over, so you select another guy.
- Saabzilla, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Turning bosses back on would be key. After beating all the bosses, the game looses it luster. Not having the ability to restart with out deleting the save file was a major design flaw. It was fun while it lasted, but I'm really waiting for the Halo 3 beta. I have beta tested software and games for a long time and cant remember anything that got this many people so excited to beta test. Microsoft strikes gold again. Now why does Vista suck?
- mt066, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Why do so many games do that?? I just got Dead Rising and they only let you do 1 save as well. It's a frickin' 20 GB disk drive, I think I can hold more than 1 file on it.
- rexCo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Make a new profile if you want to start a new game.
- Tremor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There is a patch coming that will allow you to respawn the bosses so that you don't have to delete your game file and start a new one.
- theweekend, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10You think it's a joke ESSE?
- pixelate, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5THESE COPS ARE CRAZY, MANG!!
- RandomGuySteve, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1"You think this is a game, esse?"
- Adgeman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3TIME TO DIE!
YOU WILL DIE!
- Cbeck527, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19I would like to see an update that allows you to get more that four starts. I want to jump higher!!!
- strictnein, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6No kidding. This game is just begging for the ability to do some big time jumping.
- shit, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2Where would you go with bigger jumps? Climbing the Keep is pretty easy with 4-stars, and it's the tallest building in the game.
- strictnein, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@*****: It's not where I would go, it's what I would do. I want to jump over the medium sized buildings and make huge jumps from spread out skyscrapers. Also, getting to the top of most of the buildings isn't that big of deal now, but since I've done it so many times, I'd just like it to take less time.
- morbo47, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11If you want to replay the bosses, select Time Trial. It's easy to overlook in the main menu, but it IS an option.
- aston127, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3When I started Crackdown yesterday and saw the update, i thought "halo 3?!".. sadly disapointed.. but i finally max'd my char out :)
- shit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I would like an update that makes the horn/siren do something. It so annoying driving around in a police car with the siren blaring, yet no cars get out of your way. Having stunt markers appear as soon as you get in a car (as opposed to whenever the hell they want to) would be nice as well.
Also, how come gang members can maneuver around your speeding car, but pedestrians can be hit SO EASILY?
Finally, I can't wait for the DLC that gives me those missing 100 points. I hope they involve flipping the SUV around, because that's really fun.- Jwoey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4What the hell are you doing driving?
And if you're driving anyway... Why the hell arent you driving an agency vehicle? - shit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5>> "Why the hell arent you driving an agency vehicle?"
I think that's what the game designers thought when they decided not to program a damn thing for the siren. Sometimes you have to steal a crappy car, as you can only get an Agency vehicle from the Keep. (Another thing I'd like to see are garages across the world -- getting an Agency car across town in one piece isn't challenging as much as it is annoying.)
- Jwoey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4What the hell are you doing driving?
- fabiosir, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2I hate it when there's an update but nobody says what it is.
If they don't put in a fix to eliminate the skills ceiling, then the developers of this game are obviously retarded.
Who wants to play a video game just to be limited? Sure, you can jump "pretty high already," but, it's a VIDEO GAME and we always want to jump HIGHER. Isn't that what the entire early Mario/Metroid series was all about? Jumping higher and higher? - cfdude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4the agency SUV is by far the best when you're 4 star. that thing is fun to jump and flip but I wish they would have made stunt markers like they did with rooftop races and race makers - always on and I wish they would go away when you completed one instead of confusing you if you completed it or not.
I love the idea of garage access worldwide, they should have let you convert the bosses houses in each territory to a police sub-headquarters where you can access vehicles - same for supply points too.
I really wish they would release some kind of content expansion for a game like this with new bosses, i'd download content like that every month if it was available. - eyeaml337, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2when is halo 3 beta going to come - they keep saying "spring" ... well its spring MOFO!!!!!!!!
- fani, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Crackdown is an awesome game on its own. Don't know why needed to bundle with Halo 3 ( which is an okay shooter )
It can stand very well on its own without the need for halo 3.
I really love Crackdown. - MudkipsULiekEm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Hopefully they'll wipe out the leaderboards and get those ***** cheaters off the top spots.
Go look at the time trials for Wang. Best is 5 seconds. ***** impossible considering how long it takes to even get to the top of the building. I don't know why XBL allows those scores to stay. - DavidGX, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Now how about the update that adds ACTUAL MISSIONS to the game so I can buy it and have something to do?
- DavidGX, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1they* update, rather.
- bostonwolf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Y'all understand that the guy who designed the original GTA designed Crackdown, right?
- megalopata, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Quite strange, isn't it? Too early for update
- mvannatter, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Perfect post! sweet!
