4. Dolphin Release 1.02 8 January 2005
3. Dolphin Final Release 1.01 (bugfix) 2 January 2005
2. Dolphin Final Release 19 december 2004
1. Dolphin Teaser Release 25 january 2004
So where did this mysterious 1.03 on emulator-zone come from? - Remmy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Dolphin was released well over a year ago. This is the latest release. It was a proof of concept emulator and never meant to be more than that. The original idea was to release the source after the first "final" release, however they have not and for good reason which really can't be discussed.
Ector, one of the developers, has also made the most progress on emulating the DS, using the Visual Boy Advance core to speed up the development. And as stated above, it does not contain spyware. - Erkan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I hope emulation of current gen system can revive the emu scene.
I remember back in 1998-1999 I used to come home after work and check Zophar Domain everyday/Joses emu news every day for emu rumours and news. It felt almost everyday a new NES emu popped up.
When (almost) all golden classics from the 80ies became emulated the scene slowed down a bit I think. - AllnightChemist, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"1. Dolphin Teaser Release 25 january 2004"
Sounds so sad. They take the little dolphin to the bay, set his little cage down in the water--"On second thought, not today, laddie. Perhaps, tomorrow.." - electrosoccertu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0My friend has a working gamecube emulator, it ran great. I'll post back if I can find out what it was.
- Matt2k, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I have a working gamecube emulator. I picked it up for $99 from walmart.
- your_mom, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0wasnt that suppose to be the name of the next gen N64????lol
- kleverrose, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0oh what was that game where you were a dolphin swimming around with sonar... that game was sooo cool

lol. niiice.
"My friend has a working gamecube emulator, it ran great. I'll post back if I can find out what it was."
doubtful. maybe it can emulate ONE or two games nicely, but, on today's computers, you just can't EMULATE current gen consoles. well, MAYBE on a power mac quad g5 or an alienware alx...
i mean, a first gen imac can barely run snes9x. with current gen console emulators, we'll have to wait for the coding to catch up with the technology. coding's going through a good sized transition phase right now. - jpbleuu, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0hey your mom
dolphin was the codename for the gamecube
the codename for the n64 was ultra 64. someone correct me if i am wrong - iTorrey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Ronny
it was called Ecco the Dolphin - defylogik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0seriously... the game cube system is 99 dollars. i got my gf one for christmas last year with a game, memory and two controllers for that price. 99 is a STEAL.
still wishing xbox360 wasnt sold out till january.. oh well - CoolJammer00, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1OLD AS HELL.
- mort, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0OLD NEWS
- LazyBoy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1nintendo has just told retailers that in a couple weeks they cant set the price piont to whatever they want to get rid of the stock. So dont be sureprised to see it really low 70 and below.... then preowneds will be even cheaper.
- mustangracerx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0how will it be cheaper is they can't set the price point? typo?
- tsupersonic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Oh jeez, just spend $100 and get yourself a 'cube. It's not worth it to do all these things on the computer.
- Superfluous, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0if it gets the new zelda running nintendo will be pissed :)
- rspeed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm thinking someone could whip up an emulator for OSX/PPC pretty easily. The GameCube's CPU has a fairly similar instruction set to the G4, I believe.
- foxhoundadmin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4"Oh jeez, just spend $100 and get yourself a 'cube. It's not worth it to do all these things on the computer."
just stop.
that's not the point. the point is that someone's taken one thing and turned it into something else. you're like those people who go into the osx86 stories and tell people to buy a "real" mac. - Philbert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Drat, I thought this story was about a new version. I had Dolphin like, 6 months ago.
- Philbert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Uh Never mind this is a new version (I think...) The site linked has 1.03 but the official site says 1.02 is the newest. Another one to play with is Dolwin
http://dolwin.emulation64.com/ - Dabisu, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Whoever said they bought a Gamecube emulator for $99 at Walmart is stupid, something can't emulate itself!
- cohagen, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0so where do i get the games to run on it???
- Breadstick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Has anybody here installed Dolphin and gotten a game running?
- guardian653, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0well.. I'm surprised that there is any current gen emulators out there today. these machines are way more complex than any SNES...
- Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0GCN discs are created and read in the opposite direction of a regular CD/DVD, so running them on your PC is impossible. Copying them is retardedly tedious. Frankly, it's not worth it. Nintendo won in this case - if you really want to play, go out and buy a second-hand system and game.
Besides, it's only now that computers are running SNES and PS games properly... it'll be quite a few years down the road before our regular PCs can handle a 128-bit game perfectly. - 4ZN-1NV4ZN, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0daaaamn this looks like my nemu emulator. hmmmmm i wonder if my lappie can take it.
- jayson77, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've installed Dolphin before, but not this version, and ran Naruto for GameCube on it. It ran slow and I didnt know how the controls were mapped, but it work with full sound, although, once again it was stalled and slow.
So it works, but for some reason my fairly new AMX 3500, Geforce6800 256mb, 1gig ram just can get this puppy sailing full steam ahead. - gangstagaret, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0hahahahaha check out the Tales of Symphonia gameplay
