- Cheesepuffly, on 05/01/2009, -5/+30What really sucks is how many games become franchises....
- jaysaugus, on 05/01/2009, -1/+18Blast Corps on Google Earth would be F****** AMAZING!!!
- Velenne, on 05/01/2009, -1/+17At first I thought, "123 games? I'm not reading all that!"
But then I did.
Dugg for Jade Empire, Full Throttle, Giants:Citizen Kabuto, Syndicate, X-wing vs. Tie Fighter, Indigo Prophesy and most of all Planescape:Torment. Other games on this list were good for their time but wouldn't translate to today's systems well, and still others had their novel concepts ripped off by future games. But the ones I listed deserve another shot. - merdiesel, on 05/01/2009, -0/+15Shadow of the Colossus and Indigo Prophecy should be left alone. I wouldn't mind seeing a follow up to Okami for the next generation purely for the visuals, but all in all I'm not big on studios pumping out sequel after sequel. Just like Hollywood, there are way too many sequels and not enough new ideas.
- EpicSelekta, on 05/02/2009, -2/+12Dugg for Jet Force Gemini... nothing is more satisfying than using rockets to kill ants.
Bonus points for Downhill Domination. - Ventolin, on 05/02/2009, -1/+11Anyone remember Blaster Master? I love that game way back when and I'm kind of surprised they never did anything more with it.
- christof53, on 05/02/2009, -1/+11Dugg for Grim Fandango.
- amauldin71, on 05/02/2009, -0/+9Should I be happy that this article wasn't spread across 123 pages, or pissed that it is spread across 6?
What is the current Digg standard? - russizm, on 05/02/2009, -0/+9Thank you Eternal Darkness for getting my girlfriend into video games.
We haven't looked back =] - LimeParrot, on 05/02/2009, -1/+7Freespace 3.
(I know that qualifies as a sequel but Freespace 2 is the greatest game of all time and the fact that there was no sequel is such a shame.) - Shawn4168, on 05/02/2009, -1/+7I absolutely loved Jet Force Gemini. One of the few shooters of the time that had a truly epic scope and feeling, before Halo and its endless clones came along. The control scheme was spot-on for the N64. The music was amazing.
It's just sad that this little gem from Rare came out the same year as Perfect Dark and Donkey Kong 64 (also both excellent), and got overshadowed. - ShingoEX, on 05/02/2009, -0/+5Mechwarrior had a ton of sequels. Try reading the topic next time.
- SketchaMPM, on 05/02/2009, -0/+5Technically there *is* a sequel to Kid Icarus, it's on Game Boy.
- cinephile24, on 05/02/2009, -0/+5I'm kinda surprised Mario Paint hasn't come out on the wii... it seems like a perfect match... I loved the original... such a cool game for inspiring creativity :)
- Llanowar, on 05/02/2009, -0/+5Now remember the games you want to have a sequel might as well have a very sucky sequel.
And then we'll have the complaining that it sucks and they should never have made it and just left it at the one amazing one. - xamox, on 05/02/2009, -0/+5Here some some I think need to be added:
1 - Crusader: No Remorse
2 - Advent Rising
3 - Out of this world. - mickhead, on 05/02/2009, -1/+6Not every game needs to turn into a franchise. However, if they promise not to ***** them up, I will take sequels for PN03, Breakdown and Psi Ops.
- Halokhan, on 05/02/2009, -0/+4Dugg for originality. I recently bought SOTC, and I'm thoroughly enjoying myself. It's such a fantastic experience that I just want to relish it forever. No matter how much I love the game, I never want to see a sequel to it. I know that it would not stand up to the original.
- CptGreencoat, on 05/01/2009, -2/+6For the love of god, please let there be another Dragon Force.
- caddyalan, on 05/01/2009, -0/+4I have conflicting thoughts. While I want sequels to some old favorite games (such as translations of Uncharted Waters 3 and 4), I have to admit that I don't have positive thoughts about many sequels and spinoffs.
- hairyblue, on 05/02/2009, -1/+5Actually, this is a better list than most. It uncovers all of the little gaming gems that you might of never heard of because of their sequel-less nature.
i wish they would make a freedom fighters 2 though :( - KenOh, on 05/02/2009, -1/+5There was a PS1 Blaster Master. You probably didn't hear about it because it sucked.
Of course, a Bionic Commando Rearmed treatment for Blaster Master would be awesome. - Ventolin, on 05/02/2009, -0/+4Well damn. I had no idea...
- Shogi, on 05/02/2009, -0/+4Whoever buried you needs to die in a fire.
- SketchaMPM, on 05/02/2009, -0/+4There were two sequels. The second game came out on Genesis and it was alright, then a third game was released for PS1, although I didn't hear good things about it.
- Traiklin, on 05/02/2009, -0/+3well if they fallow hollywood we should start seeing remakes of games from the NES Master System days
- Ellrick, on 05/02/2009, -0/+3Personally, I cant believe they've never made another Madden game.
- ShingoEX, on 05/02/2009, -0/+3Altered Beast had a GBA sequel
- Anand999, on 05/02/2009, -1/+4If someone ever did decide to make a sequel, I'd imagine Microsoft would probably pass on bringing out of a XB360 version of something called "Ring of Red".
- ShingoEX, on 05/02/2009, -0/+3Uh...Contra has a ***** ton of sequels...wtf?
- inactive, on 05/02/2009, -0/+3Dugg for Jet Force Gemini and Mischief Makers.
- grantmoore3d, on 05/02/2009, -0/+3Please no, leave the great games as they are! Say NO to sequels!
- nsharp1861, on 05/02/2009, -0/+3I would like to add ICO from PS2 to the list.
- Auto, on 05/02/2009, -0/+3This is true, Shingo. It still sucks that Microsoft stopped any and all production of it... they were excellent games.
- Lewie, on 05/02/2009, -0/+3Actually, it gets much closer:
http://www.hard-light.net/wiki/index.php/FSSCP_Int ... - CaptainScarlet, on 05/02/2009, -0/+3Dugg for Mail Order Monsters....OMG that game was great!
- Gowmars, on 05/02/2009, -0/+3I use to play the ***** out of sacrifice and sadly I never knew anyone else who died. But this article reminded me of it. I'm gonna reinstall I think I still have my game disc.
- cherilusive, on 05/02/2009, -0/+3Beyond Good & Evil is getting a sequel. It was announced in 2008.
- JBrown99, on 05/02/2009, -0/+3Dugg for reminding me of a lot of really good games I had forgotten about.
- D1Foley, on 05/02/2009, -0/+2I didn't even digg it until i saw Eternal Darkness on the list.
- Trickee04, on 05/02/2009, -0/+2No Beyond Good & Evil? How sad.
- protogenxl, on 05/02/2009, -1/+3I think this is the closest you will get
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zXLPp_H3hIw - fanfablebig, on 05/02/2009, -0/+2I want my Red Dead Revolver 2 god damnit.
- alsahinvz, on 05/02/2009, -2/+4They forgot Einhänder for the PS1. That game was bomb.
- Wreckage, on 05/02/2009, -0/+2Giants: Citizen Kabuto should be number one, that game is full of awesome.
- Canadianinjapan, on 05/02/2009, -0/+2top 123? The list is a bit long.....yet there are some games missing
- swicepick, on 05/02/2009, -0/+2X-Wing / TIE Fighter sequel + XBox LIVE + Joystick for the 360 = Pure awesomeness waiting to happen.
Let's make it happen, Lucasarts. - Clbull, on 05/02/2009, -0/+2Dugg for including Legend of Dragoon. I thought that game was brilliant, and I think it definitely deserves a sequel.
Another game I think should have been included is Second Sight. - wipis, on 05/02/2009, -0/+2Dugg mainly for the adventure titles. Grim Fandango, Full Throttle, Pyschonauts, Willy Bemish, Freddy Pharkus. But I will say that I've played the new Sam and Max games and found myself disappointed.
- BlackholeStorm, on 05/02/2009, -0/+2#53: Gunstar Heroes does have a sequel, Gunstar Super Heroes on the GBA. Pretty good game btw.

What is Digg?
