He is totally right. Most of the people who bash the PS3 have a PS2 sitting there because it has a near bottomless pit of 9/10 and 10/10 games with PS1 and PS2 games combined. FF7-10, God of War, the list goes on and on. Hell, people are raving about Castlevania: Symphony of the Night being released on the XBL arcade when it is a decade old and runs on a PS2.
Look at it this way. Take all of the great games on the PS2/PS1. If the PS3 could continue that tradition of amazing gameplay, would YOU complain? No, you would buy one and pretend like you never bashed the PS3. - BRENTON8907, on 10/12/2007, -18/+47It is remarkable how old technology, is still an highly purchased item... Good job to Sony, hopefully the PS3 with some of its flaws can live up to the PS2's high sales and remarkable breakthroughs.

Are you high? When people say the Wii has the same graphics as the gamecube, I just dismiss it as fanboyism. When people say it has the same graphics as the PS2, I dismiss them as trolls who are greatly exaggerating/spreading FUD. But when you say the PS2 has "much better" graphics than the Wii, I begin to worry about your mental health.

With the PS2, I'm paying a low price for a decent system with an amazing backlog of excellent games to play. With the PS3 I'm paying way too much for a powerful system that has very few games I'm interested in at the moment - so why should a PS2 vote = a PS3 vote?

Stop trying to trick people, Ninja Gaiden was only on XBOX, the original, not the 360. At no point in time was Ninja Gaiden on the PS2.

Sure, the lack of PS3 sales is disappointing, but as the ps2 fades away the ps3 will probably drop in price to about $400 (at least for the 20gig one, which isn't that bad). Remember, the ps1 died a year or 2 after the ps2 came out.

It is also basically as sold out everywhere as the Wii is and means it could have sold even MORE if supply was actually there, whereas the PS2, with some exceptions, is widely available. And has a relatively diverse third party software top sellers. The DS' library is primarilly fuled by guess who.

That makes no sense. They have a higher priced console which can run all new titles for both the ps2 and ps3 and they have one which is selling through the roof and still hot. And as you see it they should be unhappy about that. Well they aren't as when the reports came in where cheering in the press about the strong sales of all three console (lets not forget the psp having reached 35.71 million customers as well). That's the definition of a "Killer App" - thaimyshoe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I tagged along for some Christmas shopping this last month December and, judging from what I saw at the stores, I totally agree it is the value-conscious parents who are picking up the PS2s, as well as the casual gamer who doesn't need to have cutting edge gaming technology to enjoy their video games. Great games are great games, regardless of how pretty the graphics are or how powerful the console is. Better yet, great games at really affordable prices too.

Wikipedia says: "By the end of September 2006, there were 8,181 PS2 titles released worldwide (4,554 in Asia, 1,319 in North America, and 2,308 in Europe), accounting for cumulative production shipments of 1.127 billion units."
