Windows CE 6 arrives with 100% kernel source
windowsfordevices.com — Microsoft officially launched the sixth generation of its flagship device software platform, today. "Windows Embedded CE 6.0" boasts kernel architecture enhancements, new software stacks targeting three high-volume device categories, enhanced development tools, and, for the first time, 100 percent availability of Windows CE's kernel source code.

- drorlevin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4MS actually admits that free software is not as bad as they used to claim until not so long ago (shared source is not really free software, but closer that what they've had so far).
- pathfindertech, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I'll be interested to look at the code, especially since MS didn't want to allow access to their NT kernel source code during the anti-trust lawsuits due to "security vulnerabilities" I guess they don't forsee that problem with embeded and mobile evironment.
I guess we shall see what Symbian OS response to this is. - stephenwq, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Hopefully they have a part where people can submit bugfixes in the code, and then they will learn that open source does work.
