- Chazzer3, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7Just had a go with my N95, works great, of course, I was using WiFi, as I'm not that willing to charge myself that much for 3G transfers! Glad this is finally working.
Charlie- - weijie90, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Works with the Nokia E61.
- DuhStupid, on 10/11/2007, -24/+4YouTube content is *****. Too much user created trash with no writing, directing, producing or acting skills.
Give me a site with some copyrighted pirated ***** and thats my favorite site. - thesauce, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Works on my PPC-6700 through Wifi.
So does http://tinytube.net/
Then again I'm using Opera mobile - ryancalderoni, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13does not work on DS browser
- thatsmyaibo, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Works nicely on my Treo 755p
- MikeKnoop, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5Most carriers nowadays have restrictions on what you are allowed to use the data connection on your phone for. And streaming video is off limits according to the TOS.
--Mike - mike17032, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Worked fine on my Nokia E62, and this is using an edge connection. Video started playing almost right away, and didnt stutter at all.
Now all I need is for Slim Media to stop screwing around and release a client app for symbian phones. - davidhildreth, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2working great on my Samsung A707, 3G kicks ass.
- outhouseinput, on 10/11/2007, -4/+3Am I one of the few that has a smartphone but doesn't want to pay exhorting fees for data transfer?
- asif5th, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Works great on my Nokia N80 using my wifi connection. Runs like butter
- TheKricket, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3works just fine on my non-3g se k790i - even with edge, the clips ran fine - not a single blip...
im using tmo's network btw - BigFloppy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I'm loving it on my 3310. YouTube videos actually look good on this screen.
- MonoDede, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3@ thesauce
how'd you get it to work with PPC-6700? i just tried it with my phone thru EVDO with Mobile IE and it tried to open in WMP and i got "Unspecified Error" - coollettuce, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Try it yourselves.
http://m.youtube.com/?warned=yes - jman8888, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Think it will work with razr?
- anachronaut, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2@ outhouseinput
What are "exhorting fees"? I don't think the word "exhorting" means what you think it does. In any case, maybe you *are* one of the only ones in that boat. I get unlimited data on my plan at no added cost, so the thought of paying fees to use all the features on my smartphone never even crosses my mind.
I just use my internet/data/whatever whenever I want or need to without having to worry about it, which begs the question: Why would you sign up for service that you then don't want to use due to exorbitant (that's probably the word you were looking for) pricing in the first place? Surely you knew what you were getting into when you signed up for your contract, and if you're not under contract, then what are you complaining about? That just doesn't seem like a very smart way of going about your business.
With mobile coverage these days being as widespread as it is, the vast majority of people have multiple options available to them (completely the opposite of the land-based broadband situation), and I have no sympathy if they fail to take advantage of that. - trogdor282, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3WARNING: Verizon cancels your contract if you use 4 GB in a month. That's their definition of 'unlimited'.
- Jo9100, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1...unless youre in canada
- Spikito, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Doesnt work on blackjack
- Chazzer3, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7Just had a go with my N95, works great, of course, I was using WiFi, as I'm not that willing to charge myself that much for 3G transfers! Glad this is finally working.
- BLAM8, on 10/11/2007, -4/+7no windows mobile? that sucks. good work testing.
- vick04, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8It works fine on my T-mobile MDA running a windows mobile 6 beta..
- avihappy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5How can I get this MDA WM6 Beta?
- katsanes, on 01/30/2008, -5/+1Buy a new phone. =/
- smiley2billion, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Windows Mobile 6 is already final. In fact, Microsoft was giving out free upgrades to manufacturers to distribute to their customers, but good luck ever seeing that due to the fact that they'd rather you buy a whole new phone.
- justelite, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2i can't wait to test it :)
- sonyx, on 10/11/2007, -7/+1OMG!!#"ยค
- BLAM8, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2It['s cool, but I can't find out when this actually launched. All I know is that it wasn't working a month ago (or so) and without any news, it's live. Very confusing.
- mporcheron, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2Ummm... Friday I believe and some stuff was put out on some Google blogs.
- rmwimpee, on 10/11/2007, -11/+0I would add that the vids are in real player format. Obviously they are going to have some H.264 on there too
- eclipxe, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9They are not in "real player" format. The videos are all MPEG4 wrapped with 3GPP2. They are streamed over rtsp (which CAN be served from a Real-based server, but Apple's Darwin Server is usually a popular choice).
- TheCount, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3The reason he might have thought that is because he's using a WM phone. My 8525 (HTC TyTn) gave me a "real player" error when I tried to use it, although I already knew it wasn't in real format.
Where he got the rest of his assumptions from is anyones guess.
- mick6885, on 10/11/2007, -6/+2don't call it a fone, don't call us a fone company.
...gizmodo should look out for whales. :D- knelto, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13If your product tends to look like a cell phone and makes phone calls, then it's a ***** phone to me.
- rnelsonee, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10Yeah, that slogan sucks for a lot of reasons - I'll be in the market for a new phone at the end of this summer, and I'll probably get something good, but I'm not going to even look at Helio since apparently Helio isn't a phone company and doesn't make phones. So, sucks for them, because I don't know what the hell they make.
- slapded, on 10/11/2007, -17/+2youtube is gay. i give the fad 18 months
- Silthrim, on 10/11/2007, -4/+3Yep... doesn't work on WM5... WMP gives you an "unspecified error" :P although the site itself works fine.
- neodorian, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3No dice on Treo 650 in Blazer. Tells me it can't open that kind of link when I try to 'watch'.
I'll try later with Opera but that browser crashes my Treo a lot. - gafasiesornivek, on 10/11/2007, -4/+3Why would we watch it on a phone when we have the awesome juggernaut or freshness that is the Apple TV?! Apple TV has youTube! Steve Jobs says so!
- Xeth, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Works great on a Samsung A900 and A920... only in the crappy built-in browser though, no dice in Opera mobile :(
- H0tKarl, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Negative on my A900. Orb works though.
- Zer0Fade, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Doesn't work with a Blackberry 8700
- gateway, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3I prefer this on my mobile phone http://mvstreamer.mobi has revision 3 stuff , and some other podcasts.. its a part of a new project thats being worked on http://mvstreaming.com - blog site.. i think they will be adding more, looks like just in the works beta stuff.
- mike17032, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2OK that site rocks. Also works great on my E62.
- ericmoritz, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2That's weird, this site's rtsp/3gp ask a ninja files work fine on my wm5 based blackjack, youtube's, nope. :(
- ericmoritz, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1tinytube.net works as well with ny blackjack... I wonder why youtube's rtsp gives it trouble...
- aceslick911, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2Doesnt work with a 6280... obviously :P
- gateway, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2mvstreamer.mobi not work on 6280 ? any ideas what it might be? they offer up enough formats for testing, also be aware that some carriers can BLOCK the rtsp port..
- gateway, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2mvstreamer.mobi not work on 6280 ? any ideas what it might be? they offer up enough formats for testing, also be aware that some carriers can BLOCK the rtsp port..
- bemick, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Works on Treo 700P
- iWasHere, on 10/11/2007, -5/+1So, will this work on the iPhone?
- JiMiThInG, on 10/11/2007, -4/+3I would not be surprised if the iPhone was the driving force behind this. Although in theory iPhones browser is suppost to work with everything isnt' it? Or so their commericals seem to claim.
- neodorian, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3If it does it will only be over wifi. The cell speeds are limited to EDGE on the iPhone and that won't be nearly fast enough.
- davidhildreth, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1as long a there is some sort of flash the iphone will just goto www.youtube.com
- eclipxe, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5@davidhildreth
It was confirmed that the iPhone DOES NOT support Flash. - davidhildreth, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2at least at launch you're correct
- antiver, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4That interface looks a hell of a lot better than the regular YouTube site; Make the thumbnails larger and let the videos play on PCs!
- astanhope, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4The service doesn't work with my Blackberry 8100 "Pearl".
- bbardlbradd, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!
- thrallie, on 10/11/2007, -3/+5Great! Finally, a small youtube on windows mobile 5 for my iPaq. For those dumber people out there, get the core pocket media player for WM5 as it can play RTSP. Just associate it. WMP on WM5 sucks.
- PiGuy, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Third party apps save the day again! I hope all phone manufacturers have enough common sense to allow third party apps on their phones :-)
- eizooo, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2how?
- RJNavarrete, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2my TCPMP doesn't have RSTP. Is it only in the newest version [.72RC1]?
- disappointed, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2http://tillanosoft.com/ce/ptweak.html for all your ppc registry editing needs, including file associations.
- 9a3eedi, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Are you sure about opening these videos on TCPMP? I tried copying the link to TCPMP, and it says that it doesnt support rtscp.. hm..
- anachronaut, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I'm experiencing the same results as 9a3eedi; I have 3gp and all other Windows media-type files associated with TCPMP .72RC1, and I'm getting "RTSP protocol not supported".
Any tips, since you apparently have it working under TCPMP? - thrallie, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Odd. I have the MP4 addons, maybe that's why? But anyway, try VLC's pocket media player. I believe that would also do it.
- jaderobbins, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1good call! Thanks! I was sad it didn't work but after you said that i was like "oh man i forgot to reinstall TCPMP on my new smartphone!" and i was up and running.
Thanks again! - sourmash, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1thrallie, glad you got it working on your iPaq. I've been trying to get it to work on my WM5 Smartphone (Moto Q) with no luck. I'm documenting my research at my blog http://www.fullyconverged.com/archives/37 so when there's a solution out there for Motorola Q users, I'll post up the answer
- Retnuh730, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Works on a Sprint KRZR.
- skyshock1, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Hell it even works on my old Sprint Sanyo MM-7400. Rockin'.
- rshotl, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0I am trying with my 755P and blazer browser... it's trying to make me buy Kinoma Player 4EX for $15.......
Any freeware alternatives? Appreciate any tips guys :) - reyfin, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Does anyone know if it'll work on WMP but on the TCPMP media player? Maybe this'll fix it?
- kasted, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1doesnt work with my moto q running windows mobile 5 :( i get:
"ALERT: An unknown error 0X80004005"
I didn't expect it to work anyways, only thing windows mobile is good for is my NES emulator.- r420, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0Which NES emulator works with wm5???
- r420, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0Which nes emulator works with wm5?
- fuzzmeister, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3"Error: Malformed URL" when I click a video on my VX8300 on Verizon (a 3g EV-DO phone). Verizon really needs to let you use a real browser, instead of their WAP crap.
- Tsen, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I've got the same phone, and I'm pretty sick of it, too. And mostly it's because they insist on using BREW instead of Java, which makes homebrew or 3rd party apps more or less impossible. I mean, the hardware (the VX 8300) is pretty good, but the software, from the browser to the music and video players are downright horrible, and there's nothing you can do to fix it.
I'm switching carriers next month, I'm just too tired of the Verizon crap. - ultimate_ed, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I'm getting the same error on my VX990 enV - most sucktastic. It's clearly got the 3G bandwidth to do it, I watch VCAST videos pretty regularly with no trouble.
Verizon definitely needs an upgrade for its mobile phone browsers!

- vancanucksfan, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2no workie on blackberry pearl
- deviant87, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Works on Nokia E65 :)
Buffers insanely fast over 3s 3G connection.- magical, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1doesn't work on my nokia e65. realplayer just hangs at the "loading" screen, and this is using wifi so there aren't any carrier restrictions. are you using a 3rd party app?
- magical, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1just realised, you need to forward some udp ports. Not sure which one it specifically needs, I just forwarded the whole range listed in the realplayer network settings, but it all works now :>
- mirzar, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2it doesnt work on my psp browser
- speaker219, on 10/11/2007, -4/+1No ***** sherlock.
- UbuntuX, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Works awesome on most Nokia S60 devices....
- iamanalog, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2The page loads up and i can open the video link, but the video just stays on connecting.
Running WM6 on a Tmo Dash, Using PIE and Pocket Player 3.2.
In Opera Mini, page loads but links don't work.
I don't have Opera Mobile though. Looks good so far.- RJNavarrete, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1PIE? Pocket Player?
Have you tried TCMP? It's great on the Dash.
- RJNavarrete, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1PIE? Pocket Player?
- etx313, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Works awesome on my Helio Ocean! Pretty cool, but it doesn't have any content.
- brianbennett, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Works nicely with my Moto RAZR V3xx... awesome.
- cfelde, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1No problems on SE K600
- p0lye, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Also works quite well (read: fast) on my Cingy V3xx
Me likey! - ArthurSucks, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5I ***** hate you t-mobile!
- angle45media, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0yeah WTF?????? can I get another browser downloaded?
- nashpreds99, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1works just fine on my sprint samsung A900. I wish it was a bit more advanced. I guess it wont let me log into my account, but its still cool that it works! I really want an iphone and hopefully youtube will work well on that somehow!
- ashbrahma, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1works awesome on my Sprint EVDO
- kerms, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Works just fine on my WM5, maybe you need to have the non smartphone edition? Not positive, but I get no errors on my treo 700wx.
- DarkCovers, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0Works fine on my Helio Ocean.
- nonokiaboy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Australians?
- gigabyte3d, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0He could at least picked a better video to watch on YT!
- katsanes, on 01/30/2008, -0/+1Works fine on my Razr V3xx (3G).
- jellygraph, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Works great on mine... this was what 3G was meant to be! Finally! Thank goodness for unlimited data connection!
- PimNL, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Works fine on my Nokia N80 over t-mobile 3G.. The video's start directly, so no waiting time for downloads..
- numba1xclusive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1worked with my fusic
- NinjaDuck12, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Works fine on my Samsung M620 Upstage with Sprint EV-DO.
- miniK, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1My Sidekick III browser sucks. Well, it's only an EDGE device tho.
Click 'watch video'
Attention! rtsp: is not supported.
Hit ok. - Charbax, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2"Only a portion of YouTube videos are available on mobile at this time. We are working hard to bring you more!"
- Stadsport, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0Doesn't work on any Verizon's non-smartphone or windows mobile phones. The Openwave mobile web browser originally supports video streaming, but Verizon has crippled it, like everything else. It just says "Malformed URL."
- potterboy, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Why digg him down? It doesn't work on a VZW Razr V3m running through the proxy hack.
- skinfitz, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1It's using 3gp files delivered over Real Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) - get a third party RTSP player for your Windows Mobile device and it will work.
Windows Media Player will play back RTSP, but not 3gp. (WMP is pretty crappy actually.)
Try TCPMP from http://picard.exceed.hu/tcpmp/- Torx, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Ive already tried TCPMP with my 6700, wm5 aku3.5, over evdo.. NO GO. NO SURPRISE.
