It will be interesting to see the security aspects this tech will bring about. 100ft is plenty of distance to have a neighbor pick up on the signal. I would imagine it will be implemented with some sort of PSK or blue-tooth-like pairing. I only skimmed the article, but did not see any mentions of this. Anyone have further info on security?

I heard of this neat flexible wave guide that handles huge bandwidth with no problems and no crosstalk, even when several devices are placed right on top of each other! Incredibly, it's a completely passive system - no power required!
It's relatively inexpensive and this wave guide can be made of various lengths.
It even comes with connectors at each end!

Maybe BestBuy will sell a "HDMI wireless enhancer" that improves the wireless communication between your receiver and TV? I'm sure it will only cost $150 - the same bargain price as an HDMI cable + $50 extra since it's "new technology" and "wireless".

Now if you put one of these in an improved iPhone, I'd only need one "computer" + TV + monitor/keyboard/mouse.

If they can encrypt this right it's a dream come true for the MPAA. No more will you be able to just plug in a recording device, thanks to there being no plug there. Though I'm sure it'll get hacked, just like every other tech that's ever been made.

I deal with HDMI as custom installer, I like that fact that it carry digital audio and video on single bundle but they could have engineer the connector better. The problem is it doen't lock and very easy become unplugged. Hang the Plasma on the wall, some plasma comes with HDMI connector pointing upward, after I demo a ass kicking sub woofer, then picture goes out because of stupid HDMI connector fell out :(

Also most the connectors are SMT on PCB with only the shield is soldered to the board, which make it easy to break if you need to move your stuff around too much.

They need to put some sort of locking thingy on there.

And HDMI suck because its DRMed!

This wont make wires go away just like wireless routers didn't. Wires are more reliable
