- harshbarj, on 03/22/2008, -0/+14The actual site.
http://www.potapov-nature.com/forBA/deer/map4.html - macamatition, on 03/22/2008, -0/+15When I read the title I though it was about a dear that was a horribly disfigured blob.
- hackiavelli, on 03/22/2008, -0/+22Why the hell have people started pluralizing deer as "deers" all of a sudden?
- tehmoth, on 03/22/2008, -0/+11nglsh 2.0
- tize, on 03/23/2008, -0/+1bravo!
- tehmoth, on 03/22/2008, -0/+11nglsh 2.0
- xMotu, on 03/22/2008, -0/+7So uh...doesn't the battery run out or something?
- erkokite, on 03/22/2008, -1/+24Deer don't have batteries, stupid!
- CatsAreGods, on 03/22/2008, -0/+8The latest upgrade for the deer is a solar panel to charge the batteries.
- PHiZ187, on 03/22/2008, -6/+21:Sigh: So they are publishing his precise location on the Internet, how long until some lazy, ***** hunter uses this to go kill himself a deer?
- fodbirdy, on 03/22/2008, -2/+7Gimmie 10 minutes
- dolphus, on 03/22/2008, -3/+6Do you really think lazy hunters know how to use the internet?
- graemee, on 03/22/2008, -0/+2Remember that internet hunting site, where you hunted remotely. I think it was in Texas.
go go google -

- muniak, on 03/22/2008, -1/+15Then we could all watch him drive home and see where he lives ^^
- littleendian, on 03/22/2008, -3/+4Wow, showing your lack of knowledge on the subject of hunting are ya?
- browwiw, on 03/22/2008, -6/+5Number 1) ***** you for adhering to a stereotype of hunters.
Number 2) ***** you in general.
Number 3) That's a suburban area. Hunters tend to be law-abiding citizens and its illegal to hunt/discharge firearms within city limits. You could maybe get away with a bow, though.
- papashawn, on 03/22/2008, -9/+3ZOMG ANIMAL CRUELTY
- Culyt, on 03/22/2008, -2/+2Now we just need someone go steal the collar and put it in the oddest location you can think of.
- dolphus, on 03/22/2008, -3/+1The governments already tracking you the same way, (via cellphone), don't swet it :)
- srodolff, on 03/24/2008, -0/+1No, just rent a car, drive to a road near where the deer is, attach the monitor to the bumper, then drive to California. That should generate some interesting comments.
- fodbirdy, on 03/22/2008, -0/+2very cool
- Trammel, on 03/22/2008, -2/+5Someone go hunt that deer!
- Hixie, on 03/22/2008, -0/+1You can view KML files directly on Google Maps:

- JudgeMonkey, on 03/22/2008, -0/+6omg eating the best berries over here. ttyl
- frogman54, on 03/22/2008, -0/+14I saw this coming when they passed that deer version of the Patriot Act. If the squirrel lobby doesn't step up their game, congress is going to be all up in their nuts.
- Maevirko69, on 03/22/2008, -3/+3I hope it gets eaten
- jiveturkeyblues, on 03/23/2008, -0/+1by what?
- NarrativeCarpet, on 03/22/2008, -2/+1The deer has devil eyes. http://www.potapov-nature.com/forBA/deer/original/ ...
- Virgule, on 03/22/2008, -0/+3URL kaput
- bradsh, on 03/22/2008, -0/+9I don't get it. What the hell is it doing? Does it have nothing to do? It just ambles around in no particular direction. What the hell do deer do with their time???
- soomprimal, on 03/22/2008, -0/+5Eat, sleep, crap, rear, escape, and screw I would think.
- jjmckay, on 03/22/2008, -0/+1Time is a construct of the mind and thinking. I don't 'think' deer have much or any idea of time. They just do what they do and don't make a 'me' story out of it. That's the ego's work.
- DanOnTheMoon, on 03/22/2008, -0/+5They should put tracker bugs on politicians.
- VinceNoir, on 03/22/2008, -0/+4Where the hell is it's blog dammit! I want to know the deer's take on the whole Clinton, Obama, McCain situation. I figure since everyone else with a blog has an opinion, the deer may as well make it's own political views known. Empowerment!!! For the people! Errr... for the deer too!!!
- BillDoE, on 03/22/2008, -1/+2I can see it now. Some guy goes hunting, and bags a nice buck. Next thing you know, there are a few hundred protesters in his front yard who want to punish a man for killing Bambi.
- TekTrixter, on 03/22/2008, -0/+2The deer is in a suburban area, so hunting is not allowed. If this deer meets an untimely death it would more likely be as roadkill.
- xjonnyx134, on 03/22/2008, -0/+4"They are studying deers living in suburban areas in Pennsylvania. "
Deers? Really? You make me sick! - CaptainHarlock, on 03/22/2008, -0/+3Great. Now there's probably going to be LOLdeer. Give the damn thing a cheeseburger and be done with it!
- graemee, on 03/22/2008, -0/+1took it's bucket.
- reddikilowatt, on 03/22/2008, -0/+3Ham radio operators have been doing stuff like this with APRS for years. Yawn.

http://info.aprs.net/index.php?title=Main_Page - raisputin3, on 03/23/2008, -0/+2Any geek/nerd worth his salt can track a deer by GPS, email and google earth, what *I* want to know is how he caught the ***** in the first place. Those things have sharp hooves and aren't afraid to boing after you just to attack!!!
- GeyserShitdick, on 03/23/2008, -0/+2Oh Jesus. Don't let the furries know that deer will "boing" you if you attack them.
- raisputin3, on 03/25/2008, -0/+1no no, you are thinking BOINK or DOINK... they hop on all 4 legs chasing you to cut you with their razor sharp hooves. They are mean as hell, well at least when you corner em by a chainlink fence with a river on the other side .... scariest night of drunken tom-foolery ever
- GeyserShitdick, on 03/23/2008, -0/+2Oh Jesus. Don't let the furries know that deer will "boing" you if you attack them.
- Xpedient, on 03/23/2008, -0/+0My guess is that the deer will not succumb to a hunters bullet or arrow. Suburban zoning ordinances prohibit hunting in residential areas. I live in the forest in Northern WI. The relationship deer enjoy with people when they live in close proximity to people is getting free treats. Boulder Junction's hardware store sells tons of deer corn, hay, bird seed etc. and deer visit backyards every day on their route..like Trick or treating. We recognize our visiting deer; they all do not look alike. They all have names. One sleeps in our neighbors garage all winter.
