- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9im not apple bashing, because some of the stuff they do is great. but can the apple stories be posted in the apple section. because some users filter out apple, and widgets (although they can be called gadgets by non-apple companys) are apple based and are not hardware gadgets.
please think about that in your posts. - Mejogid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Presumably there doing it as a hobby as something to put on a resume or to build up a name before releasing a shareware app.
- NanoStuff, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7iThink it's iStupid to put i in front of iEverything.
- kirwoodd, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6or web pages?
here's one:
http://www.widgetbox.com/
although last time I offered an alternative to the featured story I got buried. Nobody likes competition. :) - webtech, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6source:
http://www.go2web20.net/ - titlesaysitall, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4They have 8 Different Widgets to do the same thing, all their Widgets do stats, why not keep it consolidated like they used to, a Pro and a Lite version.
- badnewsblair, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I like iStat. It's been good to me. I really wish they had MORE widgets though. Looks like they are trying to start a little legacy with their widget tab in the System Preferences.
And I modded up both NanoStuff and grunherz5x5's comments. Yeah, the "iThng" is really REALLY played out by now, but everyone knows that and it doesn't need to pointed out. - atomSmasher, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3How do these guys make money? It looks like most of their stuff is free, and there are very little ads on their website. Are they making *that* much money off of PayPal donations and "a little commercial work"? Or perhaps they're doing this for the fun of it, aside from their day jobs?
Just curious. - gaehl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@Palidin27 "iStat cpu, iStat memory, iStat wireless and iStat battery are also available for Yahoo Widget Engine users aswell."
- deanau, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Think of all the stuff us aussies miss out on .. iceTV is Great :P
- lolcollege, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That's nice, but not at all user friendly.
Web 2.0 can be better. - camtech, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I take it you don't actually have a mac.
- itanshi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i have to hand em one thing tho iSlayer is a niiice company name ^^ now just improve, theme your site, and have respect for your users and you'll be worthy of the name
- Paladin27, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Well, I guess I understimated, I should have said... all 9 mac users. ;) Anyway, that web gadget gallery does not show any system resources in any way shape or form... did you click the link in the article? I want a widget for Vista or Konfabulator that looks nice like that widget.
- jonnyeh, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I agree, this is not agadget story. I'd hate to break it to people, but software does not count as a gadget. Even is MS calls their Vista widgets gadgets, they're still software. You should be able to hold a gadget in your hand.
I have a mac, but I realize that we're still a small minority. Any article that is only relevant to Apple fans should be placed in the Apple section. You'd think it was obvious! - Roybertito, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0iSlayer's stuff is so awesome. I love iStat nano (I'd love it even more if it worked with CoreDuoTemp rather than the horrid Intel temperature kernel extension it works with now), and iStat menus looks mindblowing.
Too bad their iceTV widget is Australia only - I'd be running that over Couch Potato in 3 seconds flat. - itswoody, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1this is olllllllld
- lemz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1wrong topic... this is "apple" not "gadgets"...
- GenXXX, on 10/12/2007, -10/+7All the usual suspects under Who Dugg This section. Damn I hate artificially inflated stories making front page.
abuse@digg.com - miketrin, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3This stuff is ffing junk for junk macs. at least mention that in the story so we don't waste our time on this junk.
- antoniojvr, on 10/12/2007, -10/+5It just shows that Digg is not a democracy. Some people's votes are weighted. And honestly, who cares? They usually are interesting stories.
- grunherz5x5, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2Not everything. Just nouns.
You put an i in front of a verb, an adjective and a noun.
Who's stupid? - Paladin27, on 10/12/2007, -17/+6This should make all five Mac users happy... anybody have a good source of a gadget similiar to this for Windows Vista Sidebar or Yahoo Widget?

What is Digg?
