- RyomaNagare, on 06/09/2009, -2/+11Clearly the iphone did not occur from "evolution", someone with a high intelligence should have come up with that design. where are all the transitional remains between the iphone, and the closest "predecessor"

- spinchange, on 06/09/2009, -0/+7It's too bad the old analog devices don't work on today's modern digital networks. It would be pretty hipster retro to carry around a bag phone.
- lazycat, on 06/09/2009, -2/+9I hope the next phone in this line-up will "evolve" an actual keyboard.
- iDiggr, on 06/10/2009, -1/+4/s
- JustinNoland, on 06/11/2009, -0/+2While I wholeheartedly agree with you, you're either going to get buried by those who are too stupid to catch sarcasm when you don't add "/s" or you're going to get buried by those who feel it's unnecessary to include. You lose either way.
- osiris24x, on 06/10/2009, -4/+6Highly unlikely. Virtual keyboards are more versatile (multi-language and dual orientation), have no moving parts, and are ultimately faster to type on due to auto-correction and things like a ".com" key, etc.
The real trick is getting people to stop whining about them and to learn how to properly use them. It amazes me how many people still correct every letter they mistype on an iPhone, not realizing it will usually correct it for them. - bradleyland, on 06/11/2009, -0/+2The best part about bag phones was the 3W transmitter. Most handhelds these days are around 0.3W.
- wraiyne, on 06/11/2009, -0/+2i put a phone in yo phone so you can phone while you phone
- MooseOfReason, on 06/10/2009, -0/+2ZOMG, a missing link!
- babyheadout, on 06/10/2009, -0/+1This reminds of my wish for Improv Everywhere to act as 80's stockbrokers in a major city with big hair, big shoulder pads, and big phones.
- bigplrbear, on 06/11/2009, -1/+2in soviet russia, phone evolves you!
- inactive, on 06/10/2009, -1/+2In soviet Russia, failed meme atempt are funny?
- BrianJ5000, on 06/10/2009, -0/+1if the iphone was a creationist it would be screaming "i didn't come from no zach morris phone!"
- mogdor, on 06/10/2009, -0/+1I just got the enV touch (aka voyager 2).....certainly no iphone killer, but man it's a nice phone.
- smashblu, on 06/10/2009, -1/+2Why did you ruin that comment by putting "/s"? The next person that types "/s" is going to feel my wrath.
- spinchange, on 06/12/2009, -0/+1that's totally awesome, but the $300 price tag seems crazier than the concept itself ;p
- InsaneWookie, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1It should have had a real iPhone at the center.
- skipvt, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1Buried because phones are now getting bigger.
- diggydougie, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1Dugg for knowing the right term for those Russian stacking dolls (Matryoshka dolls) and not feeling the need to explain what they are.
- jardine64, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1We've come a long way baby.
- 2of8, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1I'd prefer my new phone to do the following:
1) make phone calls
But it seems to me that that kind of phone is not available. I mean, if you just wanted one simple function, couldn't the phone be made absolutely _tiny_ ? - Ebacherville, on 06/11/2009, -0/+1LOL i had one of the brick phones back in the day then the half brick flip phone.. Really its quite amazing how far they have come from that brick phone to the iphone..
- fireismind, on 06/10/2009, -0/+0Zach Morris Phone FTW!
- gordoysa, on 11/05/2009, -0/+0I don't know why it's called "evolution", since clearly the products were not randomly produced. People consciously designed and improved upon previous products.
Are we now re-defining "evolution" to mean "incremental improvement by design"? - mGARANDEUR1, on 06/10/2009, -1/+1Phones have actually gotten smaller in the past. The Razr was the phone to own 5 years ago, but now everyone uses blackberries/treos/iphones. I guess packing more punch is worth the extra size.
- warmtrooper, on 06/11/2009, -0/+0You still need to key in the phone numbers. So it has to be big enough to do that. So people reason, "Well, if I'm going to have to type anyway, I might as well be able to text and surf the web."
I hear ya though. I'm still waiting for the Dick Tracy video-phone watch. - migsmichael, on 06/11/2009, -0/+0http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DpnJD7IoU4U&fea ...
- inactive, on 06/11/2009, -1/+1Aye. Much like your failed attempt at trolling.
- RyomaNagare, on 06/09/2009, -2/+2seriously though, using the evidence from the G2 and some other Korean touch-phones, there seems to be a trend selecting against physical keyboards. I predict most PRE users will bleed to death before having the chance to reproduce, thous making it an evolutionary dead-end.
/sarcasm - warmtrooper, on 06/11/2009, -0/+0Wow, cellphone Matroshka dolls! That sounds like a catchy product. Not.
- smashblu, on 06/10/2009, -2/+1Rawr!
OK, so my wrath isn't that great but that stupid "/s" thing is so stupid! Sarcasm is 100% lost if you tell someone you're being sarcastic. It's basically like explaining a joke after you tell it, it kills the joke! - inactive, on 06/10/2009, -3/+2There is no such thing as evolution God created the iPhones in 6 days. That's right Steve Jobs is God.
- inactive, on 06/10/2009, -6/+3In Russia... well you know the rest.
