- TonicTuna, on 10/23/2009, -3/+30Not sure I trust a review which begins by saying the Storm 1 was an "already great phone".
- whrd, on 10/23/2009, -2/+14"The BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 is a fantastic update to an already great phone."
Uhhhh, what? - ekSD, on 10/23/2009, -2/+12His crappy writing definitely took me by storm.
Har har. - rwinte, on 10/23/2009, -0/+8WIFI on a Verizon Blacberry? Is today April 1st? So that means I'll have to upgrade at full price to the Storm 2 if I want to get WIFI since my Blackberry Tour doesn't have it?
- inactive, on 10/23/2009, -0/+6Should just call it the Storm v1.1, not Storm 2. I was considering getting one until I found out they're already at work on a phone very similar to the Storm with a real keyboard that slides out.
- Tddupre, on 10/23/2009, -4/+9gtfo verizon marketing employee
- woofers07, on 10/23/2009, -0/+4Crackberry's review was WAY better.
- bca102, on 10/23/2009, -1/+5Sounds like they polished a turd
- skate3214, on 10/24/2009, -0/+3Umm don't know if you guys have noticed but he's an admin on the site that this is linking to (which is a mobile phone forum), so that's probably why he's saying it's a good phone.
- KetamineDreams, on 10/23/2009, -0/+3I want:
Tegra + Android 2.0 + QWERTY
...that is all. Carry on. - keyvoh, on 10/23/2009, -2/+5It's what the first storm should have been. At the very least. IMO at least.
- Ground0, on 10/24/2009, -0/+3night and day difference on my storm also. Anyone that has problems with it needs to upgrade, it really is a powerhouse of a phone.
- superal1394, on 10/24/2009, -1/+4Exactly. I read this review like this "Ok, they fixed all the problems, and its still 2 steps behind android and 3 behind the iPhone"
- HiSirHi, on 10/23/2009, -0/+2Its an Apple move, thats what they have been doing with the iPhone since day one
- Tddupre, on 10/23/2009, -0/+2I doubt he works for RIM b/c he was submitting stuff about the dare and droid
- rpgmakr, on 10/24/2009, -1/+3Why is he being dugg down? He is right, personally I can't stand the BB form factor but the Storm 2 looks great.
- tavenger5, on 10/24/2009, -0/+2as stated above - very sure. Regardless, you obviously have something against Verizon.
- Phatlip012, on 10/24/2009, -0/+2LMAO, way to go Diggers with the knee jerk reaction.
Geeze. - thorak, on 10/23/2009, -1/+3The 5.0 OS runs on the Storm (got the leaked version already loaded on mine). Software should be nearly identical. The 5.0 OS is what the Storm should have been released with. The hardware upgrade with the Storm 2 is incremental, not revolutionary. The 5.0 OS is the real story.
- Tddupre, on 10/23/2009, -2/+3i'm pretty sure you do based on you recent history

plus your submissions are mostly Verizon related phone stuff
http://digg.com/users/tavenger5/history/submission ... - CoreyTamas, on 10/23/2009, -1/+2Hey, Tddupre... assuming he works for Verizon is not fair at all.
He might work for RIM. - tavenger5, on 10/23/2009, -1/+2Unfortunately yes. You get OS 5.0 with the Storm 2 as well.
- marktastic, on 10/23/2009, -1/+2Maybe he works for RIM then? I SOLVED IT!
- Tddupre, on 10/23/2009, -3/+4lol you sure you dont work for verizon

http://digg.com/users/tavenger5/history/submission ... - EdgarG8, on 10/23/2009, -1/+2@Tddupre lol I picture Joe Pesci saying "GTFO verizon marketing employee".
- jshhmr, on 10/24/2009, -1/+2Decent price too! Will there be an app so I can be as douchey as iPhone users?
- yorxs, on 10/23/2009, -0/+1Seems kind of pathetic after seeing the Moto Droid
- therealrico, on 10/23/2009, -0/+1I will wait and see how people like the Motorola Droid
- tavenger5, on 10/24/2009, -0/+1What sounds better to describe the function of the proximity sensor, "proximity sensor" or "face detection"? Regardless of what you call it, it's an improvement over the Storm 1, and it's a good improvement worth noting.
I'll admit I may be a little biased being a BlackBerry and Verizon customer, but it's not like I compared it to an iPhone and said it was better. I said it was better than the Storm 1, and it is. - tavenger5, on 10/24/2009, -0/+1I agree - whole new phone after those updates
- grey580, on 10/24/2009, -2/+3Blackberry. The most horrendous piece of elephant crap ever to be foisted upon the world.
It gives us nothing but problems.
Having to run that god awful blackberry manager on the exchange server sucks. Half the time the dam phones don't authenticate properly.
And the Storm! What a hunk of crap. 4 people from our company got them and returned them because they absolutely hated them.
Give me an iPhone or a windows mobile phone anytime. iPhone is awesome. And I give props to windows mobile for having remote desktop built in. Very cool feature.
Blackberry just blows I hate it like poison. - Vesuvias, on 10/24/2009, -0/+1Keep watching HTC takeRIM by storm and Apple by the .... umm core??... anyone got a better punchline?
- thorak, on 10/24/2009, -0/+1If the rumors are true, it will be official Monday. Then your BES server admin can bless you.
- tavenger5, on 10/24/2009, -0/+1I've used a Storm 1 for about 6 months as my primary phone. The Storm 1 does feel mushy compared to the Storm 2. If the Storm1 feels to you like you're pressing an actual button when typing then the Storm 2 feels even more like you're pressing a button. It's definitely not the same SurePress technology.
- Vesuvias, on 10/24/2009, -0/+1Teh Sexorz
- tavenger5, on 10/24/2009, -0/+1It is a great phone, depending on which version of software you're running. Yes, early on it fell on its face because of bugs, but all of that has since been resolved.
- Kali92, on 11/02/2009, -0/+1For a great site for Blackberry accessories and parts check out www.fonlogix.us they had everything I needed to fix, clean and accessorize my phone.
- tavenger5, on 10/24/2009, -1/+1Yeh, I'm the admin. I'm saying it's a good phone because it is.
- sahaskatta, on 10/24/2009, -2/+2http://skattertech.com/2009/10/verizon-blackberry- ...
- Vesuvias, on 10/24/2009, -2/+2Actually after the latest updates.. the original Storm was made into a worthy phone... the release was botched BIG TIME
- tavenger5, on 10/24/2009, -1/+1Running a buggy beta version from CB isn't an option for most people though. Regardless the Storm 2 has more memory.
- tavenger5, on 10/24/2009, -1/+1Verizon was kind enough to send me the phone for the review, that's all. They do that for popular websites you know?
- rasty, on 10/25/2009, -1/+1The point is that one shouldn't use a term that means *something different* (and much more cool/advanced) than what the sensor really is!
- sndream, on 10/23/2009, -1/+1Blah, every company is cutting back on R&D because of the economy and only push out "new" phones with little improvement. Are Rim and Apple waiting for others to catch?
- Tourney3p0, on 10/24/2009, -1/+1FTA:
"The new touch screen with SurePress technology is the first thing you'll notice. It's hard to describe without actually using the phone, but it somehow feels like you're typing even though you aren't actually pressing a button with your finger."
What? The Storm1 already has this. It says that it no longer feels like you're pushing "one mushy button", but that's not at all how the Storm1 feels. Each button is individual using the same SurePress technology in the Storm2.
Did the reviewer even use the Storm1 before writing this review? - rasty, on 10/24/2009, -1/+1Humm.. how can they describe as "Face Detection" what is just a humble proximity sensor??
Although it's then explained as being indeed just a common a sensor later in the sentence, it adds to the feel that the whole article is biased (well, the first sentence set the mood anyway!) - asskicker32, on 10/24/2009, -2/+2hahahahaha
pwned. - tavenger5, on 10/23/2009, -5/+1trust me, I don't work for Verizon
- tavenger5, on 10/23/2009, -11/+5IMO, this is the best BlackBerry ever made
