- mogebier, on 07/09/2009, -7/+915I can take that same picture right now.
I know how to set my watch :) - thegrantman, on 07/08/2009, -13/+494Hey Geek, you're missing the 9.
- andoru, on 07/09/2009, -10/+350Damn, I thought I had missed this momentous occasion. (I remember thinking about it bored one afternoon in high school). Then I realised - the seventh of August isn't here for almost another month yet.
- sockpuppets, on 07/09/2009, -10/+315Your mother's the 9. I'm the 6, Trebek, and she's missing me too.
- RareSaturn, on 07/09/2009, -11/+235It's not August yet.
- BlameCanada, on 07/09/2009, -9/+228I wrote this at 4:20 but forgot to hit save until now.
- pickupman, on 07/09/2009, -1/+206No mention of 07/08/09 10:11:12
- origamiunicorn, on 07/08/2009, -3/+182I can't judge. I have to announce it every time I notice the clock is on "7:11."
- freezerburn666, on 07/09/2009, -1/+163i determine what time it is by directly staring into the sun. that watch is for pussies.
- waluigi14, on 07/09/2009, -3/+163I flip any digital clock that's on 7:07 over so it says "LOL"
- SenatorPenguin, on 07/09/2009, -8/+142Before you digg andoru down, think about how illogical it is that dates are month/day/year in America.
- WDM01, on 07/09/2009, -8/+114EXIF data or it didn't happen.
- JonnyIsElectric, on 07/09/2009, -14/+113day/month/year
the rest of the world isnt wrong - TobiasParker, on 07/09/2009, -2/+86I always seem to glance at the clock at either 9:10, 9:11, or 9:12 every day.
- PuddMaster, on 07/09/2009, -21/+104you know why we use dates that way in america? it's the same reason why we drive on the right side of the road, the same reason we wont embrace the metric system, and the same reason why we use football to describe a totally different sport.
***** logic! we're ***** america and you can go ***** yourself!
USA! USA! USA! - bwishey, on 07/09/2009, -1/+80I'm saving the party until 12:34:56 7/8/90. *shuffles his cyborg body*
- PhrosTT, on 07/09/2009, -4/+81yay for the rest of the world.
until america conforms it was today. - liljay2k, on 07/09/2009, -5/+73My favorite is 13:37
- JonnyIsElectric, on 07/09/2009, -6/+71its not the 7th of august tho
(the rest of the world isnt wrong!) - rnawky, on 07/09/2009, -3/+66Right, because you can't alter EXIF data, nor can you change the data/time on a camera either.
- therightclique, on 07/09/2009, -1/+64That's not how digg works. The token would have expired while you were tokin'
- nubnub, on 07/09/2009, -1/+62Holy ***** you too?
- Malchiah, on 07/09/2009, -3/+63"Crap, missed it by one second!"
*Resets watch to 12:34:00* - carterjs, on 07/09/2009, -2/+61call me in 2089
- Spem, on 07/09/2009, -0/+57I always notice at 3:14 in the afternoon. And if anyone is around, even if I don't know them, I yell that it's Pi Time! I live a sad, lonely life.
- socoolisme, on 07/09/2009, -7/+61Me too when I look at a clock it's always 9:11. Then, It makes me think of 9/11 and I get sad.
- Ocelot13, on 07/09/2009, -1/+53867- 5309, just ask for Jenny
- Rain12913, on 07/09/2009, -4/+53It is indeed completely illogical. In my opinion, the numbers should be put in order of decreasing relevance, meaning the first number should be the one you'd need to know the most, and the last number the one you'd be least likely to want to know. Since we typically don't need to look at the date to figure out what year it is and we tend to have a good idea of which month it is, it makes sense that the day should be put first.
- DRT23, on 07/09/2009, -15/+631. Set time on watch
2. Take photo
3. Post on digg one year later
4. ????
5. PROFIT! - tgc1, on 07/09/2009, -9/+55Honestly, I hate that *****. Who the ***** puts the month before the day? That's retarded.
The only time i'm ever able to discern the MM/DD/YY is when the day is larger than the number of months in the year. All other times I assume it's DD/MM/YY which makes much more sense. - takua108, on 07/09/2009, -0/+45Dugg for someone finally making a "token" joke.
- FUUUUUUUUUUUUUU, on 07/09/2009, -0/+44Actually the 'u' in colour, favourite, etc. was added into the English language because it sounded more "French". So the original spellings do not include the extra 'u'. There was a discussion on Digg sometime in the past,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_and_British_ ...
Also the 's', not 'z' argument is also invalid here because it is not an "Americanism". And according to Oxford it was actually recognized in Britain before America's existence. - ilikemonkeys1, on 07/09/2009, -0/+42Foiled again!
- kirakun, on 07/09/2009, -1/+42If you're a real geek, especially a software programmer, you would push for
YYYY/MM/DD.
It makes sorting easy. But if you are a really hardcore geek, you would push for the number of seconds since the creation of the universe, which, as we all know, is the unix epoch time. - gugufrommdy, on 07/09/2009, -5/+447th August ain't here yet. ;)
- fracai, on 07/09/2009, -0/+38I would have altered the EXIF. This guy didn't.

- spiderman0505, on 07/09/2009, -1/+36I knew I would miss that today.
- drewhoo, on 07/09/2009, -1/+36For a computer archiving purpose (any use of dates on a computer), I would prefer dates be given in YYYYMMDD, makes it much easier to sort. Of course, in conversation I would use the opposite.
- commenter01, on 07/09/2009, -1/+33what's the use, he's just going to flip them over and laugh
- jester55, on 07/09/2009, -2/+34I often find myself looking at the clock right at the moment its on 11:11. Its happened about 5 times this week.
- gmiley, on 07/09/2009, -3/+34I rarely use that format when I have the choice. Depending on what I am doing I list YY/MM/DD or DD/MM/YYYY. Year, Month, Day makes so much more sense when there is a possibility that you may want to sort your data/files/etc.
- iamacyborg, on 07/09/2009, -1/+32You're going to die.
- flyingsquirle, on 07/09/2009, -1/+32Your number?
- skidork, on 07/09/2009, -5/+34lols, We can pretend to be european and try it again on August 7th.
- poracious, on 07/09/2009, -9/+38Regardless of what way you learnt it, MM/DD/YY still fails horribly. It makes no sense - you don't read the time as mm:hh:ss do you? 34:12:56, 07/08/09?
No! It counts upwards from smallest to largest units! - daz80, on 07/09/2009, -8/+37Nah man, smallest to largest - day, month, year.
- narius, on 07/09/2009, -0/+29Turning your monitor upside down instead, might get you better results.
- SquareWheel, on 07/09/2009, -1/+27Sir, it is my duty to get you 707 diggs.
- IllBeBack, on 07/09/2009, -0/+25It is the elevenocalypse.
