...and I stopped reading. - nreynolds, on 10/10/2007, -1/+23Damn't. All I want is to be able to see my team's game every week (Broncos fan living in LA). I'd pay $50 if I could see that one game every week, but having to pay $270 for all of them is too much.
- Jwoey, on 10/10/2007, -1/+15Fine print:
You have to subscribe to Sunday Ticket ($250+) AND Superfan ($99) to get this.
With sunday ticket & superfan, you already get every game in HD. This is only useful for die hards who travel a lot. - civperc, on 10/10/2007, -5/+18DirecTV has the worst customer service I've ever experienced, and that's saying a lot.
- drafhk, on 10/10/2007, -2/+12If you have Sunday Ticket, there's no need for internet streaming in the first place.
If you don't, you can still stream off SOPcast . When I'm out of town/country and away from my TV, that's what I do.

streamednfl.blogspot.com/ - Jwoey, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11I've had great experiences with them, and some bad experiences. It's about the same as you'd expect from any customer service... or any other human being. Some good, some bad.
- AntBing, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8They should, I'd actually pay to watch that streaming.
- fozzie, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8This is *****. ***** DirecTV, I am not paying $260.00 and then ANOTHER $99.00 to be able to watch online. They should give this service WITH your paid subscription. The fact that they don't offer this to everyone on the internet as a service is ***** too so ***** NFL.com too.
Whatever NFL...EA Exclusive rights, DirecTV exclusive rights WTF! - bobcrotch, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6No but it does mean that stupid ***** like you will post retarded comments on Digg trying to generalize all NFL players.
- DeFex, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6now you will be able to watch all the commercials with a bit of "playing" in between, now with added popups, overlays , and annoying flash things. all in glorious compress-o-vision on a 3" window!
- shakestheclown, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Youtube and Google videos also are of 1998 RealVideo quality, are not streamed real-time, and are generally very short compared to an NFL game.
Something like Joost would be a better example. Although I don't know if they have anything that is "live" - izzie2, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Check here http://www.myp2p.eu/NFL.htm each week for games. They usually stream each game.Hope this helps.
- jpr281, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Only available on Internet Explorer.
Good job, NFL!
You now took me away from even remotely considering this. - Zera, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4What? There's nothing particularly bad with Direct TV's service. What do you need them for anyways? You order a package, and then everything else you order through the TV. Why would you have to call their customer service more than once a year at the absolute most?
- jeromeerome, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3If your paying $250+ a year to DirecTV for NFL Sunday Ticket you are probably a huge football fan who is sure to be on the couch every Sunday afternoon with your friends watching the games. Why the hell would you want to stream them online on a computer screen with much poorer quality and pay more money for the privilege of doing so?
The NFL needs to loosen the leash on their video rights and open this up to a market that makes more sense. Like people like myself who don't have DirecTV or NFL Sunday Ticket. Maybe we would be willing to pay for a streamed game not airing in our market. Is that such a crazy concept to grasp? The NFL should follow the business model offered by MLB.TV Im not holding my breath for that one! - kurtwinter, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4WTF is wrong with these ***** idiots. There is a whole demographic out there that only has basic cable to facilitate internet service only. I don't watch TV, I am online. The music industry gets it, even politicians get it, but for some reason the ability to watch games in any market is fubar - I am not going to buy satellite service now, or ever. If they offer it online for free they will make money with advertising - they are streaming live, so there is nothing to fast forward. WTF is wrong with these idiots?
- Error601, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Pointless to offer it only to people that already have access to every game.
- Zera, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3He's right! Sopcast works, and it's great!

http://www.myp2p.eu/index.htm also has football/ncaa/baseball and much more streams. - killerofkiller, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4I've never had a problem with them, we've had 3 recievers go bad due to lightning, and they replaced them within 2 days.
- Moskie, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I just don't get it.
Stream it online, without cost, with advertisements.
NFL games are (nearly 100% of the time) broadcast over the air for free. They make money from the ads that they show in that broadcast. Why can't they do this online as well? Show the exact same feed, and stream it on their website. The only thing that they're doing is opening their content up to a greater audience, thus increasing the amount they can charge advertisers.
Right? - TheUndertoker, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Yes. I watch WWE and TNA PPV's as well as UFC PPVs on it. It has the best vid and audio quality of any stream I've ever used.
- drteeth, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Bless you, my child! Thumbs up.
- Jwoey, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2You're telling me you think ESPN would put a microphone in front of someone's face who wants to say, "Hey look i didnt kill my dog"?
- griffindj, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I guess this comment comes from someone who does NOT have the sunday ticket. Not every game is broadcast in high definition, just a select few with the Superfan package which should be included in the regular Sunday Ticket if you ask me.
- Jwoey, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4When the season starts, there'll be ~1700 active players in the NFL. Most of them hate the image the other guys project onto the entire league.
- stevieB, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2They were already streaming over the internet for years, but it was only available to international IP addresses through Yahoo. Same price, just about.
- scmiles, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Fozzies right, DirecTV, EA, and NFL, are all greedy bastards! I especially HATE EA, they ruined the best football video game on the planet, Sega's ESPN NFL2k5 with their shady backdoor exclusivity deals, all because they were pissed that Sega priced $20 for their game, and Madden was $50! Well, Madden sucks ass again this year as usual. More to the point, why the ***** would I want to watch a game on a webpage when I just paid $360 to have it in HD!!! Don't give me this, "because I travel alot" , yeah that is why Tivo was invented like a decade ago, hello?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I'll consider DirectTV again if they ever decide to put a freaking satellite in orbit directly over my house. ***** the .5 degrees above the horizon facing south, but only when the moon is full on opposite Thursdays nonsense. God help you if there is anything more than three feet tall between you and the damned equator...oh and the same goes for the satellite radio clowns.
- Barbarino, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2They don't have a "lock" they out bid the cable companies. idiot.
- tuxidomasx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2i have no cable. i do all my tv watching over the internet. mostly BT-ing stuff. start download before i go to work. come home and watch like 4 hours of tv commercial free in excellent quality
it'd really be cool to stream more and more stuff-- if the quality is good enough, i wouldnt even mind a minute or two of commercials. this year around Superbowl time, i thought for sure it'd be streaming somewhere. i mean, its 2007 afterall. But all i was able to find was some lame audio feed. wtf
whats up with the slow technology uptake? its like media companies are living in the 90s. - Moskie, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I'm with you, buddy. And more and more shows are available on the network's websites. Lost, for example, is streamed from ABC's site the day after it's broadcast. And the quality is pretty damn nice, too.
And I'm starting to use Netflix's Watch Instantly feature, which is pretty cool. The selection could be better, but that'll just take some time.
It's just a matter of time (and hopefully not too much time) before everything is avaiable on demand over the web. I really have no idea, but I assume local network affiliates are fighting tooth and nail against this, because such a paradigm shift would put them out of business. I could care less, but I'm sure they have some clout in this situation. - TherealObadiah, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Uh, think again. You'd have to pay $269 for the Directv feed PLUS $99 for the live stream of it, or $368! Yeah, I love football almost as much as soccer, but man, pretty soon the NFL will be wearing ski masks and guns demanding the loot. I think they are getting carried away here.
- R3yDigg, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I am cheap too. I love the Broncos, and I would love to watch ever Bronco's game I would even pay 100$ to watch all the games streamed over the internet. However since the NFL isn't quite forward thinking enough I listen to the games either on my local AM Broncos network or online at http://www.am950thefan.com/home/main.html
- EelfinnTy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2If you want great customer service at DirecTV buy the Protection Plan. They have a group of people that only deal with Protection Plan customers.
- Zera, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yea, because youtube and Google video are so choppy.....
- jamangold, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Mixed Martial Arts?
- Rahodeb, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yeah, just wait until your ISP starts throttling the traffic.
- NoodleGuy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I'm not sure how a bunch of ^s apply to Digg... There is a reply button.... use it.
- ethon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Because, as mentioned above, the internet streaming is included with the SuperFan package which gives you the GameMix and RedZone channels...or something...
- Jwoey, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I do have sunday ticket, I do have superfan. Yes, not every single game is in HD, but over 180* of the possible 256 are. I left out the word "almost" and you wanna crucify me.
*their ad - s0ny, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1OK! For all you Broncos fans out there...Ive got a slingbox and my TV will ALWAYS be on the Game, so Ill try to get you all the hookup!
- mre5765, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1> This is only useful for die hards who travel a lot.
And don't want to buy a sling box. - corduroy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Haha... I was just thinking this the other day (Broncos fan in MD). I looked into subscribing to DirectTV but the cost is absurd (monthly cost + 269 + renter's insurance) just to watch 1 game a week (I don't watch enough TV to justify paying for cable or sat, HD OTA is fine for me). If they offered it for 100$ to follow one team for the season in HD over the internet, then I would jump on it. Considering that it's 269 for every team on DirectTV, I think they would come out ok.
Thanks for the link R3yDigg, at the very least I'm going to listen to the stream. I still want to look into a slingbox, I can have my parents or brother hook it up. I think there's enough upstream for 480p. I'll also look into myp2p. Great suggestions all. - tubalcane, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I've always had excellent customer support from DirecTV. In fact it should be used as a model. I had Time Warner cable and the signal quality and customer service were next to worthless. Save with Bellsouth's customer service.
- warsql, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Yes, the MMA is quite popular.
What is the MMA? - bobcrotch, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Hmm looks shaddy, but I would almost do it for NFL. Does anyone else here have experience with sopcast?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2I'm an out of market fan who gets to watch all the yankees games on mlb tv. it's 29.99 for 400k
and 49.99 for 700k. Thats all the regular season games so it's a great deal. I even subscribe to
the minor league feed www.milb.com. It's totally revived my interest in baseball. Too bad the nfl
is stuck in the last century - scmiles, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yes it is true, if your away from your home use your TiVo!! Fantasy players wont give a ***** about this, all we need are the stats after the game.
- RuffRidr, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1LOL. What is congress going to do about it?
