- vtbarrera, on 02/24/2009, -0/+21Marvin Harrison was way past his prime. He was still an effective target for Peyton, but right now it just seems like Gonzales and Wayne are just Peyton's go-to receiver. To resign Harrison to anything longer than a 1 year contract would have been stupid, so letting him go made the most sense.
- quomen, on 02/24/2009, -0/+15A sad, sad, day. Peyton and Marvin were the best duo in the NFL for a long time.
- Tbyrd073, on 02/24/2009, -2/+15Just as long as Marvin doesnt end up with the Patriots I am ok with this.
- AddiX, on 02/24/2009, -3/+14Peyton wouldn't even look towards Harrison on the field this season. And im sick of people who keep praising Harrison because he is a "model player." He's not a model player, hes just not a loud mouth. Are you guys forgetting this dude was bucking shots outside of clubs and *****? Harrison is a thug, just not on the field. Plus he owns a car wash, and you know if someone owns a car wash, they're up to something.
- bubbakja, on 02/24/2009, -0/+9I wish he had pulled a Costanza and just retired with us wanting more. It pains me to see him leave for another team, but I feel that it is due.
I was at the game where Peyton and Marvin broke the record for TD's and actually snuck down to the front in the last few minutes and ended up sitting next to his Mom. That is one rich Colts lovin' old lady. - VinnieDaMac, on 02/24/2009, -0/+8It's gonna be strange seeing Harrison on another team.
- obliviousfool, on 02/24/2009, -0/+8Jerry Rice took two years to recover from the same injury and went on to have one of the longest and most productive careers in football. I don't think that will happen with Marvin, but there is always a chance he will make another team happy in his "golden years."
- jedinate, on 02/24/2009, -0/+7Now that Harrison is gone he and Manning are no longer the leading active QB/WR combo. So who is # now? Manning to Wayne, no lie, look it up.
- Sonique99, on 02/24/2009, -0/+7Honestly the Colts don't need him. Manning can probably throw the ball to anyone. Besides Gonzalez and Wayne, don't forget the Colts have Dallas Clark, who caught some ridiculous passes in traffic this season.
What the Colts really need is to sign an every-down running back, Addai/Rhodes just hasn't been cutting it this season and if they can establish their running game, Manning and his receivers would have a much easier time moving down the field with their passing game; easier than having another solid receiver ironically. - obliviousfool, on 02/24/2009, -0/+52009 was shaping up to be a bad year for the Colts financially. Harrison (and possibly Saturday) going makes sense as the coaching changes have already made this a restructuring year. At least this way the Colts can draft and sign a little more aggressively. They've got OL, DB, and RB issues that are more pressing than their WR issues. As much as I'll miss Marvin I saw this one coming a mile away.
- P2DAC, on 02/24/2009, -1/+6great player, but he's had fumblitis since the Colts/Chargers playoff game in '07/'08
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qs72TAo84tk - quato, on 02/24/2009, -1/+6Mmmmm .... Colts.
- Munceenuts, on 02/24/2009, -3/+8In related news: Conan let's Abe Vigoda go.
http://www.hulu.com/watch/59076/late-night-with-co ... - 1masterace, on 02/24/2009, -0/+5According to NFL.com they are the best duo in league history.
- indy3eb, on 02/24/2009, -0/+5Thanks, Marv. Good luck, but I really don't want to see you suit up in another uniform.
- smacksaw, on 02/24/2009, -0/+4If McNabb can reconcile with the Eagles, he should go back to Philly and play with him there.
Otherwise, I say McNabb should go to Minnesota and Harrison meet him there. - reuscel, on 02/24/2009, -0/+4I hope the Eagles' management is paying attention.
- randydaytona, on 02/24/2009, -0/+3***** YOU. Go to hell!!!
- blaxicopurress, on 02/24/2009, -0/+3andy reid is too busy thinking about his defense and screwing up the draft to notice.
- gkiltz, on 02/24/2009, -0/+3Salary cap move!
- Scott83k, on 02/24/2009, -2/+4As a life long New Englander, I agree
- EyewitBass, on 02/27/2009, -0/+2For the love of God Philly pick Him up, He's from philly, he was mcnabb's receiver in college and we need a premier receiver it's perfect
- 1masterace, on 02/24/2009, -0/+2I almost agree with LinuxAddict, he's 36 like the video says and considering how long his recovery was after that '07 injury maybe he should just go out while he's happy. Besides its not like he isn't a millionaire. This salary cap excuse for leaving is crap too, if Harrison actually wants to break any more career records or specifically Jerry Rice's records then he should stay with a team that has a QB always rated in the top 5. Like the one he's on now.
- jpate86, on 02/25/2009, -0/+2Reggie was not overrated.
Miller is the all-time NBA leader in total 3-point field goal made (2,560) and ranks at 12th place in total points (25,279),[1] 7th in free throw percentage (88.8%), 6th in minutes played (47,619) and 7th in games played (1,323).[1] He is also all-time NBA leader in total three-point field goals made in the playoffs (320).
He also led the Pacers to the Eastern Conference Finals almost single handedly multiple times in the 90's. During this time he had nothing but role players around him. He also took the Pacers to the NBA Finals against the Lakers and took that series to 6 games when they were supposed to get blown out in grand fashion.
Say what you want about Reggie's personality, but it is hard to make an argument that he is overrated. - dusttones, on 02/24/2009, -0/+2The Colts owner insisted late Monday that Tom Condon, Harrison's agent, was "premature" when he said the Colts had agreed to release the veteran receiver. Condon told the Associated Press that the team had agreed to the move after Harrison declined to restructure his contract.
"Marvin and I are talking (Tuesday) at mid-afternoon and we'll see where we go from there," Irsay said. "I'm not going to start talking like he's not here, because nothing's been determined officially by any stretch."
Asked if it still was possible for Harrison to remain with the Colts, Irsay replied, "Definitely." - ToddIU03, on 02/24/2009, -0/+2Um actually no he wasn't, but thanks for playing. Probably will be, but still ESPN is wrong again.
- jpate86, on 02/24/2009, -1/+3I have lived in Indy my whole life, and have been watching the Colts for as long as I can remember. This truly will be sad to see Marvin go. Even though his performance to pay ratio hasn't added up for a couple of years, he is an icon here in Indy. This is along the lines of seeing Reggie Miller retire from the Pacers. Very sad, but done out of necessity on the Colts part. Hopefully Marvin will find a happy new home and everyone in Indy wishes him the best.
- detainer, on 02/24/2009, -0/+2wow thats shocking. hes still good and hes old! but if he really goes to the cowboys T.O. will start crying about it cause he wont get the ball as much. I dont think them two would get along.
Manning still has reggie wayne he can throw too - belandrew, on 02/24/2009, -0/+2Vikings need to sign him
- belandrew, on 02/24/2009, -0/+1WTF=WHY THE ***** are we trying to get sage rosenfells?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phRU8efzHpQ - inactive, on 02/25/2009, -0/+1regardless of whatever happens from here on out, he will be in the hall of fame and it will be in blue and white.
- belandrew, on 02/24/2009, -0/+1finally someone who had seen the light
- Victory33, on 02/24/2009, -1/+2It's a bummer to lose Marv, he was a great route runner and made some great catches....but in all honesty, Manning made Marvin what he is. Harrison is not super athletic, he can't jump, he can't get yards after the catch...he relies on perfect passes and perfect routes from Manning to become #2 of all time. And he pulls a disappearing act in the playoffs...3 TD's in his post season career....Fitzgerald did that in one game. For the money he wanted, you gotta say goodbye. Colts might look to draft Harvin or that dude from North Carolina in the first round, but I think Gonzales can fill Marvin's role decent enough. He kills in the playoffs and gets yards after the catch...shows he wants it.
Thanks for the memories Marvin, you were a great player, did things the right way, and a classy guy to have on the Colts. - glockman69, on 02/28/2009, -0/+1Yeah that would suck for everyone expect Patriot fans...
- glockman69, on 02/28/2009, -0/+1Yeah, but it's not the same though...
- bubbakja, on 02/24/2009, -1/+1since he returned from his injury...
- AllanJR, on 03/26/2009, -0/+0First of all you should not be posting about football because you either are stupid or just ignorant of the facts either way it is better to let people think you are ignorant than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. Harrison may not be the great player he was 3 years ago but he certainly is no "loud mouth". Futhermore if you dont like the justice system of this country go somewhere else because as a veteran of the USA I will tell you here you are innocent until provern guilty and Harrison was never even charged futhermore the initail reports of a shooting stated that the person filing the complaint was in fact an unreliable source and a thug himself. So get over yourself and your own short comings, growup and realize that if Harrison's carrer with the Colts is over History has completed itself and we may never again benefit from a legend who to this point has proved himself to be an outstanding role model.

Harrsion is past his prime.. personal opinion.. I feel harrison will end up some subpar team and finish his career quietly.. - LinuxAddict, on 02/24/2009, -5/+3About time. Hope he retires.
- ToddIU03, on 02/24/2009, -3/+1I grew up in Indianapolis. Reggie Miller was an ass and extremely overrated.
- ninerskeet, on 02/24/2009, -5/+2The one player I thought could break Jerry Rice's numbers with ease. Now those numbers are looking less attainable as time ticks away. Great player nonetheless.
Long live the GOAT! - BenFaist, on 02/24/2009, -10/+3He had his opportunity to stay with the team and make a pay reduction. He sold out and turned his back on the team.
- inactive, on 02/24/2009, -15/+2One less player for Peyton Manning to blame..
- inactive, on 02/24/2009, -18/+1come to the chiefs *****
