Now if they were closer to a pound then we'd be orderin' enough to fill my freezer. Stater Bro's had T-Bone's for $3.97 lb last week. Spent $26 for three meals worth for two people and plan on cookin' up the last two steaks tomorrow evening. My grill is getting a work out this summer along with my arteries. Can't live in this 'tent' forever... pass the A1 please...

As a longtime Omaha Steaks fan, I reserve their top quality stuff f/special occasions, but a quick perusal in the local paper of the "specials" at your local mkt—Kroger, Meiers, Piggly, Farm Fresh, Publix, what-have-you—reveals that SOMEBODY always has beef/pork/chicken on sale at very reasonable prices, often half-off or "BOGO." As an Adkins devotee, keeping an eye out f/protein-on-sale is a must. (Yes, even households that do well financially maintain a budget!)
Last eve we had limed chickie breasts (four f/me & two f/MEB) & gigantic jalapeño sausage linx & a huge salad plus rice`n´pasta f/MEB (no refined carbs f/moi)—EVERYTHING bought on sale. Of course, having a freezer helps scoring goodies in quantity when they're avail, but a little planning goes a long way. By the bye, anyone interested in about a dozen Omaha Steaks-logoed styro coolers super-cheap?
