The point of having grammar rules is to ensure clear communications, not to justify xenophobic rants. And because the use of "often times" here doesn't cause any problems in terms of comprehension, I guess the most dignified response for you would be to shut the ***** up.

If you knew what they did to make the food in the advertisements, you'd be far more repulsed by the advertisements. The simple fact is, unless, I guess, you go to a 5-star restaurant, real food never looks perfect, and that's not just limited to fast food, so I don't see what the big deal is.

I would like to point out that we are excellent sandwich artists, its just when you have a couple dozen customers ordering and your manager is yelling at you to put the sandwich together in under 10 seconds the appearance goes out the door. You focus entirely on getting everything in between those buns and wrapped up.

    When we had time, or when we were making the sandwiches for our own consumption, they were a work of art (well, as good as they could be given the materials we had).

  • rburton, on 07/11/2009, -3/+16Food advertisers use industry tricks to make the food look more "appetizing". Very little, if anything, in a photographed plate of food is actually edible. Some of it started as real, but gets shellacked or painted or sprayed with any number of things to make it look shiny, add color or change the texture. Cereal is seen in glue, not milk. One would think it should all fall under false advertising.

  • bdfariello, on 07/11/2009, -3/+16It honestly looks like someone dropped and stepped on most of these "reality" pictures. I've never had an Arby's Beef and Cheddar that looked that flattened. I think the disclaimer of them not being run over by a car is inaccurate.

  • milkmit, on 07/11/2009, -3/+15I feel dirty for even defending any of these fast food corporations, but lighting in a photograph is *everything*. If you have no lights, you have blackness. If you have one hard ***** light, you have one hard ***** picture. While the form of the food itself definitely doesn't look like that in the pictures, very very poor lighting will make even the most beautiful thing look bad, always. Amazing lighting can make ***** look tasty.

    Plus, driving the food home in a sealed box for up to a half hour and then taking a picture isn't a fair representation. There's a ton of humidity built up in those sealed boxes, and everything turns soggy and just nasty. That's not ideal eating conditions, and certainly not ideal photographic conditions.
