They completely change the reporting method to justify their argument, and then leave out 75% of the real environmental consequences of current livestock practices.
Yes, it is more carbon friendly to mass produce eggs and livestock, in some cases.
However, the article completely ignores the waste run off, the disease transmissions, the e coli, the antibiotics leeching into the water and into our bodies.
Here are the health benefits, not the corporate spam of the article.

http://www.motherearthnews.com/Sustainable-Farming ... - PhoenixTx, on 11/07/2009, -2/+2I worked for Whole Foods for five years. From Austin to Dallas and they do have the best beef. They also have the best veggys, cheese, wine and beer. They also have a great leader in John Mackey. He's a very intelligent and good guy. He's also a very competitive soul. I had shoulder surgery 12 years ago for arthritis and it cost me a total of $20 and that covered my first visit to the end of my surgery. Whole Foods is self insured and they know exactly what they're doing. Grow up and smell the coffee liberals.... the government is not the answer to your troubles.
Cheers.... and wipe those tears away.
