- ursername180, on 10/10/2007, -1/+57Woah. Scary, yet beautiful.
- Puppetfunk, on 10/10/2007, -2/+49Infinite Slinky Fall FTW.
- karatekommando, on 10/10/2007, -2/+44I can't figure out what's going on with this building, but it would make a beautiful place to plummet to your death from.
- thenativeraver, on 10/10/2007, -0/+41"That kid is back on the escalator again!"
- n3xu5, on 10/10/2007, -2/+33I like escalators, because they can never be broken. They can only become stairs.
- obiethedog, on 10/10/2007, -4/+29Asia, always designing the most ridiculous items just for the hell of it.
- cbdgr, on 10/10/2007, -0/+20But the other sides a slide right?
- elnerdo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+19Worse-yet, it's an escalator, so you can theoretically fall down the stairs forever.
- hobnob, on 10/10/2007, -0/+18creepy
- AceLy, on 10/10/2007, -1/+15That's what she said.
- void, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11Man, there's not a year goes by...
That I don't read about some escalator accident involving some
bastard kid...
That could've been easily avoided had some parent-- I don't care
which one--
But some parent conditioned him to fear and respect that escalator! - allhard, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9Scary would be if there was no escalator.
- praisethelard, on 06/06/2008, -0/+8Wow...escalators are serious business, huh?
- elnerdo, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9Ending sentence with prepositions is something up with which I will not put!
- simpleblob, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8Yes, you're absolutely right. A preposition is not a thing to end the sentence with!
- Lowrads, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Well, it's Japan, so it's probably allowed on some floors.
- alokrsx, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9Crappy Photography!!
- vheissu, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7RIP Mitch
- redwire, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Hong Kong still wins, hard to find anywhere else you can ride for 20 mins straight for 800+ metres on escalators.

Took some photos, including two panoramas from the top of the building, where the escalators lead. Very nice view from up there! They're not fantastic, but I like em.

Looking at that image, I can't help but think how cool this would be as an FPS level. Much better than the cliche grimy corridors and scientific facilities, at least. - 3DScape, on 10/10/2007, -4/+10It's damn long and boring to rise up :)
- bugsy187, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6thanks
- trogdoor, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Sorry for the convenience.
- jstohler, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Simpsons did it.
- Cubedude04, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7Because some idiot would trip over it or kill themselves some how and there family would sue the company that owns the building
- planckstudios, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I've always liked this photo of the Umeda building: http://flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=284136431&size=o
Taken w/ a Hasselblad 903 SWC. It is so choice. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up. ;) - matude, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4This building looks like La Defance in Paris,
http://wavelab.chonbuk.ac.kr/images/%EC%8B%A0%EA%B0%9C%EC%84%A0%EB%AC%B8.jpg - dslozak, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4This was the first thing I thought of when I read the subject. Figured there would be a comment higher up than this though.
- grumpyrain, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5Yes, but the "stairs" are then annoyingly positioned. It is MUCH harder to walk up stationary escalators than stairs. The biggest problem with escalators though is people who don't understand peak hour escalator etiquette. It is OK to stand still, just do it on the same side as all the other still people (which should be the same as whatever side people drive on the road in your country).
- elnerdo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Yeah the 'Long escalator' level is always a favorite of mine. It's like 'longest' from Halo, except less fun.
- trogdoor, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3If I have to move up in a building, I choose the elevator over the escalator. Because one time I was riding the escalator and I tripped. I fell down the stairs for an hour and a half.
- lockedon, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4Wow I wish that building was in Chicago!
- monka, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2you've just been waiting for an escalator story to pop up so you could make that joke huh?
- mglueckert, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2really not that exciting
- elleanee, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2it looks like some hideous oil rig. it's a monstrosity with no grace or beauty.
- kidal25, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2This is crazy. What happened to Japan just using stairs to stay in shape?
- Hale, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2That's a moving sidewalk, not an escalator.
- sselbor, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3I've been an escalatorphobiac since I was little. Just looking at those pictures makes my heart beat faster.
- dugR, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2its hard to see whats going on, too close up
- xquizit, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2building looks like a GIANT toilet
- Rikushix, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Looks to me like Rokenbok is to Tonka what Megabloks is to Lego: *****.
- Afrominican, on 10/10/2007, -2/+4dont look down
- jasonpoon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1It looks amazing...but what's the point of having an escalator there?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I'd hate to do maintenance on one of those!
- sigginike90, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I will never ride that escalator.
- knightblade2oo4, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1they have those in Salt Lake City and Detroit's airports, and I'm sure many others.
- fxspec06, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Sentences ending with a preposition is what my mom told me never to do!
- Retrokid, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Dugg for "Images" instead of "PICS"...
- purple, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I tripped on an escalator one time, and fell for 2 and a half hours.
