Oh well. - Fragger404, on 10/11/2007, -2/+19Did anyone else, just for a second, wonder why professional wrestling was talking smack about Germany?
- MasterQ, on 10/11/2007, -0/+15anyone else think 'Europe's Dirtiest Power' was the name of a pro wrestler?

I don't even like Wresting but I cant help help. - APHughes, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10So does the Panda hold the World Heavyweight title?
- lieutenantmudd, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10How do you define dirty?
France produces tons of nuclear waste from dozens of nuclear power plants. But relatively little carbon emissions.
I don't deny global warming, but current German energy policy was derived from previous anti-nuclear eco-compliants. And their efforts led to more fossil fuel plants and fewer nuclear plants. This is more about what's the new hotness in eco-whining than protecting our planet. - Conquerist, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7I am German, and no-one in Germany takes Scientology seriously. However that doesn't prevent it from being sanctioned as a religion.

Let me tell you something brother, if you don't know what wrestling and these 24 inch pythons have to do with this post, you better say your prayers and take your vitamins cuz

/hmmmmf - xtmno3, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Perhaps you misread him. I took it as "I would like to see how much Germany polluters per capita. I was under the understanding that they used a lot of nuclear power, which makes this claim hard to believe, as nuclear power does not pollute the air."
- cedece, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4The problem her ein Germany is that during the last legislature one main issue of the green party (which was in power in a coalition with the social democrats) was to get rid of nuclear energy. While renewable energy is great, it sums up to sub 5% of the total energy production.
What's the situation now? - We build new CO2 emitting coal and oil plants, we buy power produced by nuclear plants in France and the Czech Republic. Yeah, way to go green party. - kylesellers, on 10/11/2007, -4/+7What exactly does this have to do with professional wrestling??
- Kugellehr, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Germans FTW!
- mos6507, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3There is hope for Germany:
http://money.cnn.com/magazines/fortune/fortune_archive/2007/05/28/100049624/index.htm - transcendz, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3@Canaduh : nuclear power does pollute air, but far less than coal. It does pollute earth far more, though, and for much longer time.
- Urusai, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Compared to anything but solar, it is. Even relatively clean hydroelectric power manages to destroy acres of prime land when they build a dam, and also interferes with sediment flow and downstream water supplies.
- helinism, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3This mostly due to the change in status of Nuclear as a 'clean fuel'.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4I'd like how much they pollute per capita.... Isn't Germany a big user of nuclear power?
- aserer511, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4I thought this was an article on the new WWE franchise, the EEUWC, Extreme European Union Wrestling Championship, features such characters as Tony the Titan Blair, Andrea the Assassin Merckl, and everyone's favorite, Nick the Nightmare Sarkozy.
edit: but Blairs character is leaving, although he is scheduled to be George the Giant Bush's tag partner in one last match... - aserer511, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3France and Belgium aren't having much trouble..
- hankyone, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Nuclear power plants don't pollute the air
(unless you meant the opposite..) - endzeiteule, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Yup, while I agree with getting rid of the nuclear (at least in the current form) energy in the long term, they way it has been done/is beeing done is just stupid. What the point in beeing a (the?) leading nation in alternative energies and at the same time subsiding coal..
- transcendz, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Everything will turn to be stupid unless we decide to use less energy. We let too many of our machines/lights/heaters/etc on while not even using them...
- HsoKinees, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1heh.. this reminds me of when i was driving down the A13(longarsed motorway in south/east England), it was 12o'clock(midnight) and i could clearly see white smoke coming out of a factory +_+
- laserblazer, on 10/11/2007, -3/+3Germany needs help fending off Scientologists.
It sounds crazy but it's true. Hopefully it's not too late. - SwissCamel, on 10/11/2007, -10/+10Probably because they are powered by scat. Those germans love their scat, but it sure gets messy.
- JesseJ, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1So basicly Germany is dirty and wants to take a shower, but USA is dirty but is denying it is dirty and say's it doesen't need to shower, because dirty has not been proven to be bad in the bible?
- Rocketbird, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Vince McMahon was unavailable for comment.
- Calcheesmo, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0And that's the bottom line...because Stone Cold SAID SO!
ehh...errr...oh wait...I still mix that up. - mrandall, on 10/11/2007, -4/+3Oh man, I thought we were talking about wrestling. I want GOLDBERG back in the ring for some mayhem!
- tacodealer, on 10/11/2007, -12/+11AND HOGAN GIVES GERMANY A BOOT TO THE CHIN....NOW THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR SETS GERMANY UP BY RAISING IT OVER HIS HEAD....AAAAANDD DOWN GERMANY GOES....NOW THE LEG DROP BY HOGAN....AND IT'S ALL OVER, WE HAVE NEW DIRTY ENERGY TAGTEAM CHAMPIONS!!!11!!111!!!!!
- Canaduh, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1And, ironically enough, most environmental organizations demonize nuclear far worse than any other source.
Unless there's some major breakthroughs in the coming years, nuclear is where it's at for high capacity generation with no pollution. And that will make most environmentalists freak. It sucks when ideology and reality take hard right turns away from each other. - lysdexia, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2Germany and France try and run Europe for the benefit of themselves - the French only siding with the Germans because everyone else knows they are subsidy fiends
- Leomarth, on 10/11/2007, -4/+2Time for some good old fashioned stereotyping.
Germans don't care about polluting their country. Stupid lazy Germans.
/sarcasm. Ah, that feels better after reading about "stupid lazy Americans" on Digg all morning. - hiPpymIck, on 10/11/2007, -6/+4theyre not alone..
FTA
"UK ties Germany with ten power plants in the dirty thirty," - AgentAce, on 10/11/2007, -4/+1ATOMKRAFTWERK FTW!
- jasoninoakland, on 10/11/2007, -7/+4Germany has to be the most internally-conflicted country outside the U.S.
- jono10, on 10/11/2007, -5/+2They are powered with [insert hated group here] as fuel.
This will be unpopular but they WERE evil, evil bastards. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -7/+3The Krauts wouldn't be the first tree huggers to say "do as I say, not as I do." Al Gore is much the same. Today we also learned that the US carbon emissions dropped 1.3%
