URGENT! Inti Wara Yassi Wildlife Refuge in Bolivia needs our help!
intiwarayassi.org — The animals of Inti Wara Yassi wildlife refuge in Parque Mach ía, Bolivia are in jeopardy and they need your help! Some of the land used for facilities like the veterinary clinic, monkey quarantine and small animals area will be taken away if they don't raise $30k fast. The loss of these facilities may mean the animals die. Black mail? Help out!

- schwinner, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0I worked in the veterinary clinic at Parque Machia refuge in April 2007. The people here are my friends and I have so much respect for them. They work all day and everyday of the year. They are wonderful people struggling to protect so many animals. They are incredibly positive and serious about their organization. The veterinarians themselves live in the buildings that they may lose. They have enough trouble as it is and now someone is trying to take over their most fully established buildings which includes the clinic, monkey quarentine, smalls animal area, dormitories, and the volunteer cafe. Even if you don't want to give them any donations through their website intiwarayassi.org, please check them out and go volunteer. I have done many crazy interesting things, but this is at the top of my list. They also except donations in the form of supplies (collars, bandage tape, carabineers, anything for the clinic etc..) very gratefully. I miss them very much and I recommend everyone to take a 2 week vacation and see this wonderful country and get a rare opportunity to work with primates, large cats, and other species.
