- snotrokit, on 04/08/2008, -1/+50so how do we know the land mass is depressed? Maybe it will be happy once all of the ice leaves.
- inactive, on 04/08/2008, -4/+49Reminds me of Final Fantasy 7's world map. Maybe I'm a dork =(
- ViperDaimao, on 04/08/2008, -3/+41from the description on this page:
"This map does not consider that sea level would rise because of the melted ice, nor that the landmass would rise by several hundred meters over a few tens of thousands of years after the weight of the ice was no longer depressing the landmass." - SemiSarcastic, on 04/08/2008, -6/+38...AND ALL THOSE OTHER THINGS WE LIKE TO SAY "***** YOU" ABOUT!

- SemiSarcastic, on 04/08/2008, -2/+23This is weird: global warming is considered a threat, people could die, corporations plan to profit from the fear of it and now that we see how much land will be open after the ice melts people are calling dibs?!

slaartibaartfaast would approve - FeloniusMonkey, on 04/08/2008, -1/+19...and thine inhabitants must tattoo a map to this land on the back of every young girl, because that's the only way people will be able to find dry land once all the ice melts. Meanwhile, they will live at sea, distilling their own pee for hydration, and trading cigarettes for food.

- jjmckay, on 04/08/2008, -0/+6Yes there are many isolated lakes underneath the ice. They have, in theory, been isolated for millions of years. There may be unique microbial life down there.
If all the ice melted, the land would rise up. It's called 'rebound' and is what happens to the Earth's crust when a large cover of ice retreats. -
