- starlyth, on 05/24/2008, -1/+12How awesome! The kid had better patent it!
- Altari, on 05/24/2008, -0/+5I think it's just a picture. The article said it was a "ground plastic bag". I'm assuming there has to be some break down of the element before it happens.
- mmmmmbiscuits, on 05/24/2008, -1/+6I know there are plenty of bright kids out there, but.... I'm thinking back to a few of my high school science class peers who were average performers at best yet somehow managed to come up with typeset placards and industrial lasers for their county science fair projects--not exactly the two most common things in the early 80's. You've got to wonder if this kid's dad might be a microbiologist :-)
Full disclosure: my dad taught wood shop for a few years, and at the age of 9 all the other cub scouts marveled at how I had produced the fastest and most kickass pinewood derby car they had ever seen. - Tsunami07, on 05/24/2008, -1/+2Wow, nice one. That could be the most valuable scholarship they have given out!
- sfury, on 05/24/2008, -1/+1nice job dude!
- tkstock, on 05/24/2008, -6/+3I hope it's true. The bag looks "dirty" rather than decomposed - how decomposed did it get? The article wasn't expounding on too many details...
