- OpCzar, on 06/06/2008, -20/+290So this is how Jesus walked on water...
- CDWMobile, on 06/06/2008, -9/+209RIP
- TsuruchiBrian, on 06/06/2008, -2/+175Sting rays are the pancakes of the sea.
- duggisquailman, on 06/05/2008, -19/+184When not to go swimming with an australian accent.
- casspa, on 06/05/2008, -0/+154I was tandem parasailing one time in the keys, and the boat slowed down to dip us into the water, and we landed in the middle of one of these.....the boat was clueless as to why we were screaming and waving
- mymoustache, on 06/06/2008, -4/+138I came to this thread solely to see how long it took for someone to make a Steve Irwin joke.
And you sir, you have not disappointed. - ltchimpo, on 06/06/2008, -0/+105It's floating garbage. This was a major dumping site for used kites and broken dreams.
- jd33, on 06/06/2008, -1/+96Similar story: I was tandem cycling and my partner steered us right into a pack of wolves. It wasn't until I sliced a piece of his ear off and fed it to them as a distraction that I realized they were just dogs. Boy did we have a chuckle after.
- Kati8303, on 06/06/2008, -5/+98Those aren't sting rays-They're cownose rays
- BobDole2000, on 06/06/2008, -4/+92Do not turn on the motor ewwwww
- uhohzombies, on 06/06/2008, -0/+58Attn: people downvoting this comment. The poster is correct. They are cownose rays. Stingrays are typically rounded/pointed or blunt at the front end, and manta rays have two jaw-like protrusions, whereas cownose have a distinct "double bump" at their leading edge which can be clearly seen in this picture. Science!
- AshamedAmerican, on 06/06/2008, -5/+62It's been 2 ***** years, exactly how much grieving time do you need?
- briankoenig03, on 06/06/2008, -1/+55Surprised or provoked....hmm....like possibly being landed on by screaming, waving tandem parasailers?
- waxoff, on 06/06/2008, -4/+57Am I the only one to see this and immediatly think Mc Escher?
- DivePhotoGuide, on 06/06/2008, -7/+58Oh my god - I would have paid anything to hop in the water to take some shots of those rays. As an underwater photographer you dream of these moments!
Casspa - you are VERY, VERY lucky! I'm in awe! - DrywallThief, on 06/06/2008, -2/+53Holy hell I'd be scared *****. I don't think these are the aggressive type or anything but I'd still be freaked the ***** out. When I went tandem parasailing in Hawaii it looked like they were gonna drop us into a coral patch. It sucks how no matter what you signal they're gonna drop you anyway lol.
- Vhaeos, on 06/06/2008, -1/+43This is amazing looking. Someone please post a high resolution version.
- chiefbandit2200, on 06/06/2008, -0/+39pancakes that can stab you through the ***** heart
- stix213, on 06/06/2008, -0/+38Or a stinger through the heart, but who's counting
- Lewand, on 06/06/2008, -0/+37"... I think we're gonna need a bigger boat"
- NuclearBunny, on 06/07/2008, -1/+35That would explain why they're all herded together.
(sorry..) - d0onut, on 06/06/2008, -2/+32You know, I never really liked him, but it took his death to make me realize how badass he was.
RIP indeed. - ltchimpo, on 06/06/2008, -4/+29Yeah, I pretend to be an astronaut on the Internet. Nice drop.
- timewarp424, on 06/06/2008, -2/+25You tried too hard.
- john2kx, on 06/06/2008, -0/+23dugg up because sometimes we need a resident zoologist handy around here.
- ccbbb23, on 06/06/2008, -2/+24WOW
Where are more shots of this? Larger shots of this?
Who is the photographer?
WOW - jd33, on 06/06/2008, -2/+22As a prominent comedy writer on a hit network, I dream of moments like this to take shots at people like you. Thanks.
- protodon, on 06/06/2008, -4/+24These are rays but they're not stingrays.
- Laminarcissus, on 06/07/2008, -1/+19They will tear you to pieces. The moment you reach the water hundreds of them will descend on you like flapping vengeful doormats, punching you full of holes with their stingers and stripping the flesh from your bones like firemen at a barbecue.
- Temo1, on 06/06/2008, -0/+18Trust me, nobody in Australia drinks Foster's. No one.
- unbrooken007, on 06/06/2008, -0/+17sushi
- Honchy, on 06/06/2008, -3/+18The boat wasn't on but we were still moving
- rovsky, on 06/06/2008, -9/+24too soon?
- KingGorilla, on 06/07/2008, -0/+14what? your pancakes don't normally do that
- ChefEspeff, on 06/06/2008, -0/+14Yeah most stingrays are completely unaggressive unless surprised or provoked. I would say the most you would end up with are a few hickeys from their jaws.
- BN2L, on 06/07/2008, -0/+13Its already been a few years plus Steve wasn't exactly the serious type. I'd prefer to remember him with a smile on my face as opposed to this solemn mourning that you're advocating.
- Elconno2, on 06/06/2008, -1/+13Anger management.
- azntiger1000, on 06/06/2008, -0/+12WOW. It is somewhat mesmerizing.
- bobstanley, on 06/06/2008, -0/+12no just kinda lame
- dabura, on 06/06/2008, -5/+16WAR! ***** WAR!
- agilbe10, on 06/06/2008, -1/+11Calm the ***** down. It was a joke. It's the main use of the message board and almost everyone is using one-liners. Way to blow something way out of proportion douche.
- BZKyle, on 06/06/2008, -1/+9...Pun intended?
- MRintheKeys, on 06/06/2008, -0/+8It'll be ok, just remember to collect enough conch shells to get that bastard shark to jump out of the water. Once he does, I'll ram him with the sailboat and it's game over.
- Snottlebocket, on 06/06/2008, -0/+8It's beautiful, and almost surreal in a way. And yeah, my first thought was 'Escher' as well.
- Animal, on 06/06/2008, -3/+11That's really all you need to say.
- inactive, on 06/06/2008, -1/+9Jesus had a sense of humor. You could learn from him
- LeCollectif, on 06/06/2008, -2/+10Are they aggressive? I mean, could you tread water (very, very slowly) and come out unscathed?
- hdberk, on 06/07/2008, -1/+8When I first read your reply, I thought you meant you were going to shoot them, as in with a gun.
