- Error601, on 10/10/2007, -1/+22You put ethanol in an engine and suddenly it becomes "green"? All a marketing ploy.
- hoppy44, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11How can you NOT want the Tesla? 0-60 in four seconds AND 135 MPG?
- kertong, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7Personally, I'd rather have a lotus elise (as sexy as a tesla would be in black.. mmmm). :D It's ~500lbs lighter, has a ~300-400 mile per tank range (and if I'm out of gas, I don't have to call a tow truck), and gets ~26-30mpg. It's not 135mpg, but I figure the $45k I save by buying an elise over a tesla will give me plenty of "free gas" for the next 25 years. :D
- wageslaven, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Ethanol - Cutting Big Agri-Business into the Welfare the Big Oil has been enjoying for so long. Ah, American Capitalism at its finest.
- schwit, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Just because it's got 4 wheels doesn't make it a car. If it can't carry more than 1 person it's hard to call it a car.
- ChromaVita, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5How many top 10 lists of "Green Cars" is too much?
- loxx500, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4135mpg equivalent. It is an all electric car.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -4/+8That car is black.
- skyshock1, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4As long as an engine is burning fuel and pumping out carbon exhaust, it's not green. And that extends to any vehicle which gets it's power from a coal-burning power plant as well. Nuclear power is the cleaner option.
- archer75, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I don't care about speed. Until you can put a hybird in a truck and provide the same level of torque i'm not impressed.
- pw378, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Actually the Lotus Elise is 800lbs lighter (1920lb curb weight) and gets ~30-32mpg when driven very gently, which is very hard to do. On the track, you might only get 10-12mpg. Also, you will NOT get 400 miles on one tank of gas since the tank only hold about 10 gallons and its just 'wrong' to drive a Lotus gently on the highway.
You are definitely right on the savings by buying a Lotus over a Tesla. I love the Tesla and if the prices were comparable, I would have bought one. Until the Tesla prices come down, I will continue to love my Lotus! For those interested, you can see some pics here: http://www.paw.org/lotus.html (no ads or spam, just my website) - n0t0kayipr0mis3, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4The Tesla Roadster and the E85 Viper look sexy as *****.
- mortigon, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3***** is sexy
- kettlechips, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Bicycle
- TBagwell, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2corn-based E85 isn't green. when will these idiots pick up on that?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2if you can't eat a minimal amount of the fuel without dieing then it ain't green, it's BLACK!
- FreakyD, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2yup, and it does not look any bigger than any other color viper
- CraigJ, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1what is "any"
- Joe_rigby, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3Hey-ho! Hey-ho! Top ten lists have got to go!

- D0P3M4N, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I want to try that sick volvo 50+mph soap box car. looks like fun.
- honkybong, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2that takes all good from electric car and all good from Lotus - amazing!!!
and you can configure it like a laptop online! "Build Your Own 2008 Tesla Roadster" http://www.teslamotors.com/buy/buyPage1.php - Inputfunnyname, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2Nice. I have a friend that ordered that tesla roadster recently. Some nice cars.
- kertong, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1off topic, but nice lotus! Do you daily drive it?
I bought my current MR2 spyder from an owner who had just upgraded to a lotus - now she wants to sell me her lotus! I am seriously considering it, but 1) it's purple, and 2), it seems like a nice chunk of change to get that lotus, and in the end, it'll be like driving my MR2 on steroids. Worth the ~$30k? Hmm. Would like some advice (since I'm torn between that or a 91-93 nsx). :D - skyshock1, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Buried for the sheer volume of commercials in the video. You Tube link without all the video ads garbage plz.
- honkybong, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1green is also from Holland :)

The Aero X just looks awesome! Wish I could get one. - W3Coyote, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0Agreed. I'm not rowing myself to work on a ***** Erector Set.

Finish sentences much? - ubergoose, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1green with some standard deviation in the wavelength -- I think most technology reducing dependence on foreign oil could be included in this spectrum
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1"green" is in for marketing, but some of those cars look kind of cool.
- 0260, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1that hydrogen powered 7 series? hmm?
- Vicujozobenaxod, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0Because it runs on electric power completely, it's $98,000, and you won't get "135MPG" (equivalent) with the way you are going to drive it.
Pure electric cars and hybrids are economically and environmentally ineffectual. Imagine garbage dumps 50 years down the road full of used up batteries, piling on top of each other from all the vehicles. At least with current internal combustion engines, you can scrap the metal. With electric motors, is there anything to scrap and reuse? No. When batteries die, you throw them away. It's waste product. NOT a green solution. - mortigon, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2***** you jeff gordon
- mortigon, on 10/10/2007, -3/+2this is retarded... half of these look like you can't even steer.
AND MOST OF THEM AREN'T EVEN GREEN.
...joking - devoted, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1Ford Hydrogen / Aston Martin hydro ( http://tinyurl.com/2ryhhm ) is the fastest! dont you think?
