- nrwilk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+110They couldn't even get a real person to model it?
- snakesonasam, on 10/12/2007, -2/+98i only clicked the link to see some hot chick in a bikini,
***** - mrfreeziexp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+81I was thinking the same thing.. ARTICLE DOES NOT DELIVER.
- sonaro, on 10/12/2007, -2/+55Girlfriends are usually pretty cool with their geeky boyfriends, but I am sure once he pulled out a SOLAR POWERED BIKINI with wires hanging out of it, she just had to draw the line.
- HunterTV, on 10/12/2007, -1/+42"Solar powered bikini"? Since when did bikini's need their own power source?
- jenel, on 10/12/2007, -2/+42I can think of a few uses that involve a concealable vibrator with no need for batteries.
- nixonrichard, on 10/12/2007, -0/+35Since August 29th 1997 at 2:14 AM . . . the moment Skynet became self-aware.
- Nudar, on 10/12/2007, -2/+26Dugg down for using a dummy instead of a real woman.
- cyrusthevirus, on 10/12/2007, -4/+25I hope the cells terminate in a "female" USB connection... I wouldn't wanna see a male in that bikini...
- HyperZiper, on 10/12/2007, -1/+192nd reason why bigger boobs are better.
- airwalkery2k, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14Ever since they used electricity to clamp the seam together. It makes an overcast much more enjoyable.
- conedude13, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Is it available in a thong?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13In soviet russia, Bikinis power the sun.
- MarcusJMcLean, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Once again, a useful yet very impractical invention that will have its 15 seconds of fame and then be forgotten.
- Ahnteis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10You definitely should have "read the article".
- tektalk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10When will they make a device that captures energy whenever her boobs bounce...
- greenlight2001, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9I can think of many more than just 2 reasons why bigger boobs are better...
- SamsLembas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I would actually like one of these in a hat or something......
- pathetik, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9thong available...but, it will only be able to power your vibrator
- thcobbs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Something tells me it might chafe a bit...
- AngelBunny, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6it looks extremely uncomfortable. i wouldn't want to wear it..
- dip42, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7@kmckanna
inaccurate. how many women do u see jumping into pools?..."They don't want to get wet." - radu79, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Ever played with those flexible solar panel films?
I did, and I would NOT wear them on my skin, they have sharp edges and corners, and they are not the mot confortable thing to wear. They are also pretty rigid, for clothing, - maexus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Still, that's a clever idea. They are laying in the sun anyways, why not use it for solar power?
- Accutron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4This just proves that people digg before the links have even loaded.
- Cornstar23, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Next up: Rosie O'Donnell solves world's energy crisis.
- GrantTheGr8, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Hey, I'm a *post*-pubescent perv who clicked to see a chick in a bikini, thank you very much!
- sany22, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2pics my arse
- HyperZiper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2fun spoiler
- 13thfloor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If it was modeled by a true treehugger, you wouldn't want to see the picture unless you like body hair (armpits and legs) on your women...
- psykiv, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Electricity and water don't mix.
/discussion - diggduggjoe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The better design would be using that green fluid those New Zealand researchers developed. Put it within a plastic film and you are set. If, they choose clear plastic on both sides we get the adult version. It would be great to power all the sex toys in the bedroom.
On a more serious note, using ambient light to power all your personal electronics like iPod, cell/smart phone or PDA would allow you to minimize battery usage and the wasteful wall transformers would not be needed as much. Now, if only we could have that capacitive battery tech to work with this idea power could be created and stored virtually everywhere. Hybrid cars would be covered to lengthen drive times, especially during the day. Homes and commercial buildings would be covered, even roads could be designed to absorb and generate power.
That is the neat thing about this bikini idea, it shows that solar collection could be even be part of our clothes. - saillax0609, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2thats tricky, it would depend on how it was submitted.... would either need steve jobs' approval or it would have to be in some sort of top 10 list
- code_of_life, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2and where is the power socket?
- Urusai, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The same reason you don't have a coal-fired generator in your house. It's better to collect or generate the power in one place so you don't have stupid solar-powered ***** everywhere you go.
- AlphaEta, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If treehugger.com wrote an article about the energy efficiency of ***** in paper bags, and then someone submitted it to digg, would it would make the front page?
- compl3x, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Skin cancer anyone?
- tizz66, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Off topic: I love the 'screens' concept TreeHugger has on the right-hand side of their page. Very nice.
- f201, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'd like to terminate in her female USB connection.
- thcobbs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Dude... Screw the solar power generation...
I know I don't want my girl with tan lines! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11: use a proper woman rather than a stick insect.
2: what would you actually be powering while you wrinkle your skin? - raabco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Thanks, but i still prefer the hand 'powered' model, myself.
- 5280becca, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That is the ugliest, most uncomfortable thing I have ever seen.
- TexanPsycho, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1NERD ALERT!!!
- K4P741NxKRUNCH, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Sexy...?
- LQBMaV, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I think the story title should have said 'Solar Powered Bikini! With Pic'...
- strupatn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2That is stupid, no one will buy it.
- yearginchess, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ha ha
- aukxsona, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ummm...I won't wear that. Looks waaaay toooo complicated to put on...keep on and swim in.
- crossmr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1and with comments like that you never will. Lame, and repetitive.
