- Bullsnot, on 05/30/2008, -0/+12Now I have to go back and look at my favorite Calvin and Hobbes comic strips.
- inactive, on 05/29/2008, -1/+7Ha. Funny!
- deepinside, on 05/30/2008, -0/+6Hopefully something can be done to save these majestic creatures.
- j3ff86, on 05/30/2008, -1/+6Mr. Burns: Look at those snowmen, smug and secure in their finery. Mocking us.
Homer: Uh, they're just snowmen, Mr. Burns.
Mr. Burns: Oh, snowmen have peepers. Peepers to watch. To watch for a moment of weakness and then BAFF comes the knock in the head and we're down!
Homer: What do we do?!
Mr. Burns: Oh, wouldn't you like to know? - sustainablogger, on 05/29/2008, -2/+7Save the snowmen!
- Duositex, on 05/30/2008, -0/+4I HATE THE ONION.
Oh wait... - xDibblerx, on 05/30/2008, -1/+5They'll have to migrate to my state. We had above average snowfall last winter.
- hotpuck6, on 05/30/2008, -0/+3college students everywhere cry for their now snow penis free campuses.
- Hassassin, on 05/30/2008, -0/+3R.I.P. Frosty.
- wigginz, on 05/30/2008, -0/+3However! It sounds like they have discovered a new species of echinoderm... "Avalanche Researchin." Sorry, it's the best I got this morning.
- AndrewDB, on 05/30/2008, -3/+6Calvin couldn't be reached for comment, but Hobbes was quoted as saying "I haven't seen him since the police were after him for Snowmen Homicide."
- rsHoratio, on 05/30/2008, -0/+3Happy Birthday!
- BlueSkyfish, on 05/30/2008, -2/+5I like the link at the end
"Bush Administration Seeks Endangered Species Status for the Elusive ‘Climate Skeptic’" - rumblestrut, on 05/30/2008, -0/+3The snowmen can come to Kansas. We had a really harsh winter; one with snowfall every two week from January through March. They'll be safe here.
- fpcyber, on 05/30/2008, -1/+3Screw snowmen, what about oversized body parts made of snow?
- Stormwern, on 05/30/2008, -0/+2What about the yeti!
- inactive, on 05/30/2008, -0/+2I'll be back within a millinium. Every Ice Age they always return.
- skidooer, on 05/30/2008, -0/+2I don't understand what there is not to like about snow. There is nothing more enjoyable than blasting through fresh powder on your snowmobile. It sounds to me that you're just missing out on how awesome snow really is. I feel quite privileged to be able to live in a part of the world that does get snow and I hope that never changes.
- gavinhudson, on 05/30/2008, -3/+5A wonderfully humorous look at an otherwise serious situation. Well done!
- samespbn, on 05/30/2008, -1/+3Someone, someplace, is probably concerned over this.
- LordPhilMil, on 05/30/2008, -0/+2yea, had tons of snow here in Cleveland and hadn't had this much snow home in WV since the the blizzard we had like 10 years ago...
- aladrin, on 05/30/2008, -0/+2Have them move to the South Pole. It's got more ice, not less.
- GreyColumbus, on 05/30/2008, -0/+2Nice way to lampoon the still prominent endangered species craze.
- inactive, on 05/30/2008, -0/+2do you know how many snowmen i've killed? usually by kicking and once with a bat
- Sliver147, on 05/30/2008, -3/+5BS. We've had 10 times more snow than usual
- Hetman, on 05/30/2008, -2/+3I am not a big fan of the snow. If there was a way to make Global warming happen with out extreme droughts I would be all for it. Seriously I live in Chicago and lake michigan is always cold which sucks. Chicago would probably be the greatest city if it was not for the fact that it gets so cold during the winter.
- xDibblerx, on 05/30/2008, -0/+1...and the traffic. Don't forget the traffic.
- thomashauk, on 05/30/2008, -0/+1They would help.
- willsani, on 05/30/2008, -3/+4I blame Al Gore for inventing global warming!
- linksus, on 05/30/2008, -1/+2They have already gone here in the southern UK. I think i managed to make a snowman ball once, But thats about as much of him i managed to get :(
- Hetman, on 05/30/2008, -0/+1I like to ski. So yea I do enjoy snow. However there are no mountians around here just some hills. Which are fun but I would prefer it to be more warm and I will just travel to colorado when I ski.
- Dustmuffins, on 05/30/2008, -0/+1Snowmanbearpig.
- Zippo, on 05/30/2008, -2/+3Happy birthday!
- URnotheonly1, on 05/30/2008, -2/+3I am going to miss you frosty.
- skidooer, on 05/30/2008, -0/+1I've shoveled my fair share of snow, but you're right, I've never salted a sidewalk. They never turn to ice, so there isn't much point.
Of course, if you're real concerned about falling, walk in the snow:
1. It's not slippery
2. It's a soft landing if you do fall - RicktheBrick, on 05/30/2008, -0/+1We had within a couple of inches of record amount of snowfall last winter. Over 14 foot of snow mainly in December, January, and February. The cold has not stopped yet as the low was 30 degrees just a couple of nights ago and most nights getting into the 30's. The cold is not that great but is a lot easier to take than a tornado or a hurricane.
- Gemfinder, on 05/31/2008, -0/+1[Remembering the snow that fell on the Willamette Valley floor on Mozart Day...and the Vernal Equinox...and shortly after Easter Sunday]
I think I know where their snow went.
Guess the Switzerland Snow got tired of hanging around the Alps and decided to take a vacation in green 'n friendly Oregon. - jonshipman, on 05/30/2008, -0/+1Something tells me you do not own your own place yet. Wait until you have to salt the sidewalk everyday and if you forget, you fall and break your hip :/
- diablozx9, on 05/30/2008, -3/+3Serious ???
- 2007/8 (this year) winter in Canada set records for snow fall.
I had more than 6 feet of snow in my front yard this winter.
- Plenty of snow for snow men,,, and dont believe that the "warming" of a couple of degrees is eliminating polar bear territory,,, it gets to -70 in the north. 2-3 degrees IS NOT MELTING THE ICE CAP. - Duositex, on 05/30/2008, -2/+2not funny
- Haoie, on 05/31/2008, -0/+0He also has 'political powers'.
Best politics jab on the Simpsons, possibly - willsani, on 05/30/2008, -1/+1LOL! That was classic!
- marklad2020, on 05/31/2008, -1/+1You had 6 feet of snow in YOUR yard. Ah, that makes everything alright then.
One year doesn't make a trend. - petervenkman, on 05/30/2008, -5/+1god i hate the onion.
