- ehaugan, on 06/29/2008, -0/+18Burried for being old. I know a guy who did this 2,000 years ago.
- crazyjake, on 06/29/2008, -1/+12next up, turning water into unleaded gasoline... or something even remotely more useful than wine.
- johnlancia, on 06/29/2008, -0/+7Then you probably shouldn't say anything.
- MrZaiko, on 06/29/2008, -1/+6I thought Jesus was the only one who could make this happen...
- marcoionox, on 06/29/2008, -0/+5Next step: Turning lead in to gold
- Stradenko, on 06/29/2008, -0/+4It's the wine, obviously.
- livegreenordie, on 06/29/2008, -1/+4I love that idea! Mindboggling how we could potentially harness this ocean source source using an electrical generator! Ride that wave~
- JorgeGT, on 06/29/2008, -0/+3That is not difficult... at a cost many times bigger the value of the gold produced xD

- sega01, on 06/29/2008, -0/+2This may sound great at first glance, but it is just another way to get patentet (practically DRMed) seeds into the market. Watch "The World According to Monsanto" if you wish to be informed.

It seems like this technology could be applied to just about any crop. Considering the limited supply of water and the rapid pace that supply is being diverted to urban use, this is a good thing. Agriculture will generally be given less priority than urban use when it comes to California and other states dividing up water rights.
As the scarcity of water is becoming a huge problem in the West, this is the kind of technology we really, really need. Good stuff. - crowbarred, on 06/29/2008, -0/+2Has to be inaccurate ... this trick was done 2000 years ago
- TommyGuns, on 06/28/2008, -4/+6I grew up making wine over the hills in Nevada, I know there is a lot of current research going on here regarding genetic altering wine grapes to with stand the climates throughout the regions. University of Nevada, Reno, UC Davis both schools I have attended lectures and presentations on this topic.
- evilgourmet, on 06/29/2008, -0/+2Yes I wanted to see them create wine from water, not irrigation monitoring.
