- spiralspirit, on 10/16/2007, -0/+54This is "The Midnight Sun" by Anda Bereczky.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+46It's OK to have your very own screen names you two.
- SkippyDoorknob, on 10/10/2007, -0/+38It wasn't shot anywhere. Here's the details on how it was made:
http://isilmetriel.deviantart.com/art/The-Midnight ... - yawnstretch, on 11/03/2007, -0/+33Nice - I'd love a monster printout to stick up somewhere in my apartment
- quomen, on 10/10/2007, -2/+30It really looks fine the way it is. The composition is beautiful.
- shadows88, on 10/10/2007, -1/+23sin waves always bring a tear to me eye
- goyney, on 10/10/2007, -3/+23Except, while the sun moves, the clouds don't. In fact, the stay in the same place all day!
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -4/+22Terragen anyone?

Buy it now! - memoid, on 10/10/2007, -1/+14whether its a photo or CG doesn't change the fact that its visually stunning. Beautiful composition and colors. Very Aesthetic. So all you losers dissing it cos its CG can STFU.
- sockpuppets, on 10/10/2007, -2/+15They need the love toilet.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4qxkyKSrC8 - SkippyDoorknob, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10It is CG. Here's how it was made: http://isilmetriel.deviantart.com/art/The-Midnight ...
- obviouslyshane, on 10/11/2007, -6/+15Terragen + Photoshop
Thats my guess... - cshah190, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9sin(x) anyone?
- gordeaoux, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Read the link SkippyDoorknob posted, it's not even photos.
- SkippyDoorknob, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7You're correct according to the creator: http://isilmetriel.deviantart.com/art/The-Midnight ...
- ybnormalman, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Looks like it was made in TerraGen. http://www.planetside.co.uk/terragen
- DeskFlyer, on 10/10/2007, -3/+9Anyone know where this was shot at?
- BHSPitMonkey, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7Where'd you hear that at?
- bluscale, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7It would look ugly without the seams. If you wanted it to be seamless, you'd have to overlay a larger chunks and fade the edges because the lines of color differences and seams in themselves.
- electrostat, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6The creator should be credited in the post (like a link to the deviantart page would be nice), no? Seen it before, but still beautiful none the less.
- MicrosoftBob, on 10/16/2007, -0/+6"Technical details:

That's some serious renderin'. - Ninjao, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7Sorry going to have to disagree with you on that one. Seeing as this is an abnormal panorama photo the "gaps in the stitching" emphasize the different stages of the sun/day. Very good composition, great photo.
- ToRoE, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5exactly, see artist comment: "Artist's Statement
Beyond the Arctic Circle, the sun does not set during many days of the year..." - aigulf, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Seems to me this trajectory would be possible if you were in the arctic (or antarctic) circle...where the sun doesn't fully descend below the horizon for months at a time.
- CraigJ, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6So? I see 2 or 3 by MrBabyMan. What's your point?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6Anda Bereczky
http://www.deviantart.com/print/338955/ < same thing - CraigJ, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Yep: http://isilmetriel.deviantart.com/store/
- bluscale, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5hahaha I can't believe I didn't notice that.
- thcobbs, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5All I can think is either Arctic or Antarctic.
- arjie, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I love Terragen, experts can make some fancy stuff and you don't need to be an expert to get some nice pictures.
- MrHoopla, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Good find. Looks really cool.
- fatlip, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4that's odd.. because the water does to. almost as if this wasn't... wasn't.......... WASN'T REAL!
- Trocisp, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6I think I just found a new background.
- Ninjao, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Woops it isnt a photo but still replace the word photo in my previous comment with pic.
- digghalo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2and it's also a 360 degree panorama so yes it makes perfect sense.
- InfiniteNothing, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Huh, I thought the Sun looked a little funny.
- grouchyman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I've seen pointless comments at least once a story.
- bluscale, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2This is what they mean when they say Terragen
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thum ...
They have a point... - ophello, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Heres a gapless version and a polar version i whipped up, so you can see if you like it better without gaps:

http://i237.photobucket.com/albums/ff294/ophello/T ... - jackminardi, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Are you serious? I guess you have never worked with either of those programs...
First bryce could never get renders as good as this. Second in terragen this would be ridiculously hard to create/render. Look at the atmospheric detail. Amazing.
This was good enough to convince even some digg people that it was a photograph. - tandy400, on 11/06/2007, -0/+1Aannd..... There it is.
- playuhh, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2i has a time lappz?
- tehpwnrate, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1First thing I thought of was Halo 3.
- devindotcom, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Edumacation! You skipped it!
- Joab, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2I was going to say that the water's currents are the same from picture to picture
- McGrude, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3I saw a similar series of photos at a friend's house about 15 years ago. It was very cool.
- ophello, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1o.O !!
- silfiriel, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1wow, that's amazing
