- j4zmon, on 11/19/2008, -1/+32I keep rereading that title and it's still weirdly phrased.
- GregFD3S, on 11/19/2008, -0/+20Global Warminator?
- DickyT83, on 11/19/2008, -0/+15It's almost like...
Obama: Climate change, Schwarzenegger!
Schwarzenegger: Yeah!
I dunno - RunWithScissors, on 11/19/2008, -3/+17Frankly, as an older person, your complete naiveté frightens me.
Energy independent in 10 years? It is such an absurd promise, it is so disconnected from the reality of how our country functions, it is so far from the realities of what little alternative sources of energy do and can offer in the future, that I don't know whether to laugh or cry that people like you are walking around believing these jokes and lies by just another politician like Obama. I would LOVE energy independence, but make believe and liars aren't going to get us there. Grow up, set your compass to "reality" and start working your butt off to get something done. - phreak79, on 11/19/2008, -12/+25We're saved. Obama is here.
- inactive, on 11/19/2008, -0/+12GET TO THE HYBRID-CHOPPER!
- SSPink, on 11/19/2008, -2/+13Wow, a video from the future?
Damn, I guess he is going to change things... - Spuy767, on 11/19/2008, -3/+13JFK was a real democrat, Obama is no JFK.
- Stemnin, on 11/19/2008, -0/+9I environmentally the whole Schwarzenegger.
- thescimitar, on 11/19/2008, -0/+9You know, I see these comments on theories about conspiracies and global warming fraud, and I have to admit, I'm not particularly well educated on the subject, other from the advertising messaging that has been put out there by environmentalists.
I'd consider myself an environmentalist (in that I care about conservation), but I'd also like to be well informed. Can anyone recommend links to resources that cast doubt on or give alternate theories to the global warming hypothesis? Please, no overt propaganda. I work in marketing/advertising, it's what we do. - elvis699, on 11/19/2008, -6/+14What happened to Al Gore?
- inactive, on 11/19/2008, -2/+9 Gore kicked off heavily into the global warming thing when his daughter married into the Schiff family who are major stockholders of the Federal Reserve. Schwarzenegger courted the Rothschilds when he was running for governor, you can Google the famous picture of him with Jacob Rothschild at that time. The same bankers ruining everything else about our country are the ones behind the global warming fraud. It's just a way to weaken the output of the white countries in favor of places like China and India so that the new world order can arrive all that much faster.
- inactive, on 11/19/2008, -3/+10You're right, let's just keep getting oil from Saudi Arabia, Iran, Venezuela, etc
Because that's working sooooo well right now. - daPhoenix, on 11/19/2008, -5/+12What 'leadership'? USA has been consuming the world resources faster than anyone else and whilst other regions have been developing low consumption vehicles for example everyone over there have been guzzling like mad.
Leadership my tushy. - atmenterprises, on 11/19/2008, -1/+8Will this truly be a "new" chapter, or will be be stuck with change and hope like selecting Clinton as Secretary of State?
- diablo75, on 11/19/2008, -0/+6Al Gore has said over and over that he'll take no seat in government ever again. It's beneath him.
- rodted2, on 11/19/2008, -1/+7This looks like a job for the Bipartisan Duo.
Tune in next Diigg, same Obama time, same Obama station. - hauntedchippy, on 11/19/2008, -0/+6I think they plan to totally recall them.

- anonymous1986, on 11/19/2008, -3/+9Damian or Damiamacunt?
You know, like an idiot - danr5, on 11/19/2008, -1/+7The U.S. produces 30% of the world's GDP, but they do it by using 25% of the world's energy. That's leadership.
- worldinmyeyes, on 11/19/2008, -11/+16And the lemmings on digg continue to fall for the global warming fraud - perpetrated by a powerful and corrupt elite (who silence skeptics) - and their "solution" will be to implement more big brother control via global government, taxes, and further draconian control measures - all in the name of caring for the earth - you know, the same earth they have been plundering for centuries. Global warming is real, the media tells me so - oh and government bribed scientists too.
- Spuy767, on 11/19/2008, -3/+8Fair enough. How can anyone reasonable say that Obama is a JFK calibre polotician in light of this one single piece of evidence. Let's look at what might be JFK's cornerstone speech. One single line. . . "Ask not what your country can do for you. . ." How can you even operate on the premise that Obama is anything like JFK when Obama's stated policies seems to advocate nothing but asking what ones country can do for them.
- Spuy767, on 11/19/2008, -0/+5It's cause the title was truncated by digg and the submitter didn't bother to paraphrase it.
- inactive, on 11/19/2008, -3/+8he's hunting manbearpig
- FearlessFreep, on 11/19/2008, -0/+5no
- bombula, on 11/19/2008, -0/+5Wrong. There is a difference between predictive modeling and simple data analysis. The data show, incontrovertibly, a progressive rise in global mean temperature - with expected punctuated deviations - over the last 8,000 years or so, with marked rises in the last 200 years. This is looking backward in time, not forward. No computer modeling required. Who's the idiot now, nirvanix?
These rises have taken place in spite of higher aerosol and particulate matter concentrations since the early 1800s as well, which is cause for even greater concern.
And FYI, no 'respected' scientist disagrees with anthropogenic climate change, driven primarily by man-made contributions to CO2 from burning fossil fuels and deforestation. You're ignorant - and gullible - if you think otherwise. Time to stop watching Bill O'Reilly and start reading IPCC, UNFCCC and NASA findings, articles in major peer-reviewed scientific journals, and major publications like the Stern Report. - Smiff2, on 11/19/2008, -2/+7say what? i think the point is that you don't pay other countries for your energy (which leads to nasty things like wars over oil).. most people will still be paying their national or state provider, i can't imagine everyone in cities generating their own power...
- albyliontk, on 11/19/2008, -12/+17This article includes a video where President Obama talks.
- Tzen, on 11/19/2008, -1/+5Are you kidding?
- Dinsdale77, on 11/19/2008, -4/+8I think they plan to terminate greenhouse gasses.
- BradHAWK, on 11/19/2008, -8/+12Won't it be just awful if we needlessly reduce pollution? :o(
- Rockkybox, on 11/19/2008, -13/+17Why don't you believe in global warming? More importantly, why do you believe everything some ***** called Bubba running a conspiracy website with tinfoil wrapped around his genitals, over a vast proportion of the worlds scientists?
- wunksta, on 11/19/2008, -0/+4"- A controlled (and laughable) mainstream media who spews non-stop propaganda and distractions
- A dumbing down of the education system
- Endless wars for profit and political gain
- Funding assassinations, coups, and brutal dictators worldwide under the guise of "spreading freedom."
- Phony war on drugs putting harmless people in a for-profit prison system
- The dismantling of the US Constitution and sovereignty of nations worldwide
- Fluoride and pharmaceuticals in the water supply
- Mercury in Vaccines
- Genetically Modified Foods
- Cancer and Autism rates going through the roof
- Both parties in Congress pretty much controlled
- A general approach of divide and conquer (then consolidate) put to everything"
i agree, its been pretty prevalent in our history and politics throughout both parties, but this doesnt discount some of the issues that have come about nor does it suggest that there is some specific group with a hidden agenda behind everything. at the most, i would say its just a military industrial complex, revolving door politics buddy buddy system. just corporate control of society through the representative politics we have in place. but its not a "conspiracy" for the most part (although there may be a few) but its out in the open. its just the natural progression of consolidation of these groups, they want more wealth and power. but there isnt a single cabal in control of all of this i think. its very well possible theres conflicting goals and groups.
but as for the issue with the "global" things, each one should be taken in context. the main point is that as a world we are becoming increasingly interconnected and our actions more broad sweeping. what we do no longer just affects ourselves or our neighbor, nor is it only known to us or our neighbors. bottom line for me is a development towards a safer, more democratic and free world that no longer fights over resources, but strives for the improvement of all mankind would be the best result. its not something that will come about overnight, thats for sure but we can set up the pieces towards that goal. we need to stop fighting, we need to make sure we arent ***** up the places we live, we need a replenishable clean source of energy. those are a given. how we go about those is a little bit more difficult but we should always strive to be democratic and fair about it, we shouldnt let one group determine whats "best" for us or use these ideas to lead us towards something us, such as a more controlled society.
just my thoughts - hauntedchippy, on 11/19/2008, -3/+7Yeah ***** the environment, lets keep ***** in our living room as if nothing's wrong.
- mikeymondavi, on 11/19/2008, -4/+8With who's money?
- loudnobnoxious, on 11/19/2008, -1/+5It should be "Schwarzenegger leads environmental summit, Obama follows him and talks"
- xboxfiend, on 11/19/2008, -0/+4Uhh, isn't he the guy with all those hummers?
- BowieX, on 11/19/2008, -2/+6Yep, those greenhouses gases are gonna die hard.
/did i do it rite? - danr5, on 11/19/2008, -3/+7No, it's going to happen Al Gore says so.
- inactive, on 11/19/2008, -5/+8So wait...? Now you libs like Arnold? You people are truly hilarious... I am completely conviced that Digg is made up of 5yr olds...
- Hush, on 11/19/2008, -1/+4No, see, that went away about the same time that the people in the U.S. actually having a say in how things are ran went away.
- AMSRay, on 11/19/2008, -0/+3With the insane number of threats Obama has been getting, I REALLY would discourage comparisons to JFK unless you want Biden to be the next LBJ. Kennedy only had two good points: Vision and courage. Two good things for a president to have, but not enough. I am hoping Obama will make a much better president.
- redlantern64, on 11/19/2008, -9/+12Let's see. Whom do I believe? The propaganda machine of companies who stand to lose billions or science, which has been dragging our ass out of the Dark Ages...well...since the dawn of thought? Forgive me if I decide to err on the side of science.
- libertao, on 11/19/2008, -0/+3Contrary to what Digg comments might have you believe, everything to do with climate change does not center around Al Gore.
- inactive, on 11/19/2008, -1/+4Yeah, because JFK did a whole lot his entire what 6 months in office?
- sanman, on 11/19/2008, -0/+3did you all know that Schwarzenegger means 'black ploughman'?
I remember him saying this on Arsenio Hall one night, and Arsenio wasn't amused. - dododohead, on 11/19/2008, -0/+3personally i just care about who does the right thing.
i can care less about titles - bjzq8, on 11/19/2008, -7/+10...Or government bureaucrats that stand to expand their influence over the world by orders of magnitude? Forgive me if I decide to err on the side of libertarianism.
