- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+48Just in case you think that was all in the sky at one time, It was actually taken at multiple exposures, simlilar to HDR... It was a few shots put into one is what im trying to say.
- Moliket, on 10/12/2007, -1/+35In the comments someone calls him out for just posting a time magazine picture...I'm pretty sure hes right, and look further in the comments and there is a link to a guy who got a picture of a lightning bolt hitting the house next door.

- CountC, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14This was actually done by a Final Fantasy nerd who casted Thundaga.
- washcapsfan37, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Wait, you _submitted_ it and you didn't eve bother to _read_ it?
... yeah, please turn in your IntarWeb "License to Digg". - xanaxaddict, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12PLEASE! No more lightning pictures!! Move on
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8dugg for spelling "lighning" correctly
- kb0x, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8"Buried for Innaccurate."
What's inaccurate about it?
Do you mean you _assumed_ it was going to be a single shot of lightning, Even though the title and description in no way suggested it would be? - Silencer7, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Palpatine must have been PISSED!
- washcapsfan37, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Hey, I take great offense at th--- oooh, what's that sparkley thing?
- haooken, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Striking.
- spudnic, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8You can quite comfortably do it with 1 shot. Just set your camera on a long exposure with the aperture set to correctly expose the sky, and all the lightning within that time frame will show up on the single photo. Could have used a better ISO setting that way too
- arnar, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6@chris9902: Depends on what you call fake. It's pretty easy to do multiple exposure on film (most EOS bodies allow you to do that) - is that faking it?
Superimposing multiple digital images in photoshop with the correct layer blending produces exactly the same result. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5lol but I mistyped it on my own comment. digg me down to hell!!
- sarno, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Don't want to spoil all of us fun, but this guy here knows his lightning!
http://www.lightningshot.com/
He's a little crazy, likes to sit on lifeguard towers during storms on the beach. Note that his last name is "Sparks", which is for real, he's a good friend of mine. Enjoy all the shots. - TheWorm, on 10/12/2007, -5/+8If you happen to be someone with a large metal rod sticking out of your head, this spells danger.
- shm0edawg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2On the flickr page, there is a comment that reads:
"Great job here. I totally LOVE lightning and thunder. Still waiting for my first photo of it though..."
Yeah.... I'll personally donate $1,000,000 to anyone who successfullly photographs thunder. - virtualy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If you'd read a bit further, you would have discover he *was* the photographer who took the Time photo. The comment was made, tongue-in-cheek.
It is a stunning shot. - washcapsfan37, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Well, it's your fault for thinking people would like stuff.
[/sarcasm] - alrahman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Its not that amazing.
- nuggetz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4It's them. If you look closely you can see the capsules. Watch out for the Tripods.

- JeremyBanks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Dude, use the [reply] button.
- captainpete, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3That's definitely better than this. If I saw ten tornadoes on a single image, it would probably be the most amazing tornado picture I've ever seen.
- mindlikeagog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nice.
Try this for some ace images too.
http://antwrp.gsfc.nasa.gov/apod/archivepix.html - KerrAvon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ah, I love anything to do with Albania or the Adriatic for this reason:
"Albania, Albania, you border on the Adriatic. Your land is mostly mountainous and your chief export is chrome." - carniv0re, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Digg should create a new category called Media that replaces the Video category. In it, they should have videos, pictures, and audio too as subcategories that can be selected or deselected.
- wrestlingnrj, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've actually been in a lightning storm very close to that in Lake Powell 4 years back. It was pretty neat at first, but then it would stop. I would post the picture but I accidently dropped my camera in the lake that year.
- SomeManbeapig, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1man its so awesome! we get new most amazing lightning ever each month!
- Heracles, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1In concordance with Digg house rules, "amazing" should always be capitalized when describing an image. Also, there is no "best picture ever" in the title.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Also, there is no Santa. It's just your parents.
- Steve082291, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice picture. Dugg!
- natural_smurf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0that must be the first time in years i've seen someone use the word awesome correctly. now THAT's amazing.
- charliestout, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Every summer during the Arizona monsoon season I'm out with a camera and tripod. Check out 2006 here:

- haxx4, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1How can a picture of lightning make digg when it's so easy to Photoshop lightning into any picture.
- thcobbs, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2In reference to the Daily Mail pic: "Something tells me that the guy pissed off the Man Upstairs...."
- Scopitone, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4Shocking
- Zappam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Too much lightning pictures on Digg..
- somespecial, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2likephatec - how can you talk like that? you've dugg one thing the whole time you've been here. Who are you to speak for the whole digg community? Why is submitting photo I find on flickr spam? Would it be better I say something else than amazing?? You don't make sense.
- fuckingusername, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1fake
- redlemon, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2it's a miracle! amazing!
- BrunoTheGreat, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3Finally proof that DIgg is a giant ADD support group.
*Lightning*
Digg members: "Oooh. Shiny!" - gostars, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3Yet another interesting, but thoroughly un-unique and un-amazing picture. If you think that's amazing, I'd suggest you don't get out much. Google lightening images and you'll come up with lots as good or better than this.
- sobeitup, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0already saw it maybe oh say a month ago, plagiarism
- Zippo, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3What an electrifying photograph!
- naffets, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Simply amazing.
Wouldn't like to be about when that storm hit though. - deviantgirl, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2Oh my goodness - how inspiring and beautiful!
