- hydroplane, on 12/27/2007, -5/+25Ignore it and it will go away
- lydecker, on 12/27/2007, -2/+19People seem to forget now that being environmentally friendly isn't just about global warming. It's about pollution. While some can deny global warming, nobody can deny pollution.
- active1x0, on 12/27/2007, -0/+13Seriously why don't we all just get naked and make love to the environment.
- officecamel, on 12/27/2007, -0/+11Very interesting article. Direct link to the EPA site: http://www.epa.gov/air/emissions/where.htm#tfmt
- geddon, on 12/27/2007, -3/+11Good thing none of this is affecting the planet! It's all just part of a cycle where carbon monoxide and lead and sulfur dioxide gather in the atmosphere every few hundred years to talk about what's been happening since the last global extinction.
- jasontho, on 12/27/2007, -3/+7Twisted Tail... A thousand eyes... Trapped forever! EPA EPA EEEEEEPAAAAAAA!
- usrlocalbin, on 12/27/2007, -3/+7Leave it up to some crazy Christian to deny pollution.......I'm sure it's already happened.
If they believe it's not Gods Will for the earth to be polluted, then they will not accept/believe it.
And when you question them.....They'll always go back to the same excuse and reasoning. "You have to have faith". - inactive, on 12/27/2007, -0/+3But it's really nothing to worry about, because God will save us once we screw up too much, right?
- tomatopad, on 12/27/2007, -0/+3Link to see the map doesn't work, says Loading... forever.
Who's in charge over there, FEMA ? - leerayIG88, on 12/27/2007, -0/+3Where's Captain Planet when you need him?
- valkyries, on 12/27/2007, -0/+3Or kill us all.... its a win win situation for someone out there.
- ThEDeMoNKiNg, on 12/27/2007, -1/+3?! Seeing pollution near his house gives him severe erections?
- valkyries, on 12/27/2007, -1/+3Now look at the pollution overlay of China, and watch the cloud moving towards japan... then towards the US....
- SonnyW, on 12/27/2007, -1/+3Or maybe you were dugg down because your comment had absolutely nothing to do with the article.
Good thing you managed to make your next comment even less relevant though, well done. - GrammerPants, on 12/27/2007, -1/+3Or the thousands of other private jets? Owned by people who really don't give a ***** about the environment.
- inactive, on 12/27/2007, -1/+3Nerdfighter.
- valkyries, on 12/28/2007, -0/+1Engineer, and you can google what i said to prove me wrong.
- Paranoidmarvin, on 12/27/2007, -1/+2Yes...
But it's all relative.
If you don't understand the atmosphere, don't talk like you do - thesonofdarwin, on 12/27/2007, -0/+1Don't forget the oxygen orgy. Ya know, it's in the (o)zone when it gets excited...
Effects of Vibrationally Excited Oxygen on Ozone Production - I once read that article and it sounds so inappropriate when we give the elements personalities ;) - theOster, on 12/27/2007, -0/+1spot on, spot on...
- boflaade, on 12/28/2007, -0/+1it's just you.
- funkywood, on 12/27/2007, -0/+1This needs to be more visual. Help people visualise it. If it's visible smoke pollution everyone agrees we need a 'clean air act' or something. Meanwhile all the invisible pollutants keep getting chucked out without a care. Who even cares about carbon monoxide? It's invisible it can't hurt anyone.
- Cyberen, on 12/27/2007, -0/+1Bark and Pine Needles are too tough to love.
- inajeep, on 12/27/2007, -0/+1I've tried to interject that into any global warming discussion I have and it's impossible to get someone to understand that. Thank you for proving I'm not the only one who thinks that way.
- geddon, on 12/27/2007, -0/+1Go out and buy as many self-heating hot chocolates from Wal-Mart as you can afford. Give them out for New Years. Hell, take stock out in the company just to ensure that as many people as physically possible are dumping toxic chemicals into our water system. That should take care of them!
- WaterDragon, on 12/27/2007, -1/+2This would make it real easy for Google Earth, because now they won't have to show places like Manhattan in such detail. they can just show the cloud of filth (provided by the fascists in government who have sided with industrialists, and against the citizenry), that covers and suffocates the entire of NY City.
- inactive, on 12/27/2007, -0/+1I try to point that out here and there. We already have proven toxins in our air, water and land and we should work on those rather than bicker over global warming. IMO the environmental movement made the worst possible mistake choosing GW as their rallying cry. PM2.5 is a much easier pollutant to vilify because it has proven links to heart disease, COPD and asthma. It would have been a vector to take on the diesel truck industry (that has virtually no pollution controls), the break pad industry and the tire industry (all big contributors to PM pollution).
Instead we go back and forth over a suggested anthropogenic problem with millions of independent variables that no one but God could accurately process. - boflaade, on 12/28/2007, -1/+1Wow! A real scientist with all the facts. We are honoured.
- inactive, on 12/27/2007, -2/+2mmmm lung cancer
- slvrbullet87, on 12/27/2007, -0/+0This map counts cement as pollution. Granted cement is a bitch to get rid of... but when i think polution it isnt the first thing that comes to mind.
- sholdowa, on 12/27/2007, -1/+1That'll be 'around the world' as in the USA then? Kudos to the EPA for doing this, but why such a stupid title?
- jarvis400, on 12/28/2007, -1/+1As sholdowa rightly pointed out, the tile says "Google Earth has an overlay that shows pollution concentration around the world", However, it's U.S. only.
While interesting for many, useless to me.
Inaccurate. - kpapatrexas, on 01/03/2008, -0/+0interesting article...But USA and the other countries don't really care about earth pollution!!!!

R? - inactive, on 12/27/2007, -2/+1u have factories on your butt?
- TStanNY, on 12/27/2007, -1/+0Thousands of them.
- scoottie, on 12/27/2007, -4/+3Mention Gore in a bad light get dugg down, and if i said Bush did it people would digg the comment up. Take your head out your asses
- slvrbullet87, on 12/27/2007, -2/+1Because she has VD she has been raped by big industry and hippies have bein making her their bitch for 40+years
- scoottie, on 12/27/2007, -3/+2Yeah, but Al Gore is a hypocrite. He tells us not to do stuff and has mansions and jets that do more harm then any normal person. Its worse to act like you give a ***** and be a total douche then to just show your true face and just be an *****.
- valkyries, on 12/27/2007, -2/+1One Volcano erupting for one day spits out more ***** into the atmosphere then all the cars in the world, since the Model T.
- Jahweh, on 12/27/2007, -2/+1What if Gods will was to let us do our own thing?
and as for the "you have to have faith" thing, maybe you should listen to them. I'm Wiccan/Spiritualist, and the same still applies, you cant do anything unless you are sure of it. - deludeexistence, on 12/27/2007, -2/+1Is it just me... or is this the EPA's pollution overlay, using Google Earth?
- ArachnidDude, on 12/27/2007, -3/+1This is the freshest air we have! Now all you second class smokers go to the corner of the parking garage, so I don't have to breathe your fumes! Polluters!
- inactive, on 12/27/2007, -5/+3same reason why u wanted to see hillary clinton naked
- wademickelsen, on 12/27/2007, -3/+1What are the percentages of the total atmosphere? Is it even on the chart? Or is it smaller than .037% which is the level for CO2.
- designer, on 12/27/2007, -4/+1Don't care about pollution.
- scoottie, on 12/27/2007, -10/+3Is the carbon footprint of Al Gore's personal jet on there?
