- panzergeist, on 10/10/2007, -8/+38If you guys would take off your hate blinders for a moment you'll see the good side of this. The people who don't like Rush Limbaugh, in general, already believe in being eco-friendly, driving hybrids and the like. It's the raving followers of Rush that you would never convert without him saying it was a good thing. So, by GM doing this, it's more likely now that the very people who would have never cared about a hybrid or all electric car will actually start to pay attention to them.
So even though you may hate Rush Limbaugh, this is actually a good thing. Try not to allow your hatred of people with opposing views get in the way of progressing towards what you believe in. In short, if your enemy is doing something which supports your views, shut up and let them help you. - codye, on 10/10/2007, -19/+36But environmentalists generally are wackos. What's so controversial about that?
- yankeesfan, on 10/10/2007, -5/+21Did anyone actually listen to the ad, or are you all just retarded? Limbaugh didn't say anything about the environmentalists or push his agenda.
- stewdog1, on 10/10/2007, -7/+20Let's see here: A celebrity that is not being a hypocrite on his views of the environment. Would you rather have Madonna push the company?
- PunkPortrais, on 10/10/2007, -11/+24Car companies need to push the"eco-safe" factor less and more of the 60mpg factor. Me, I don't care if the car pollutes three times as much as a regular car, if I only have to fill my tank once a week- sign me up. Drink your polluting bottled water hippies.
- jstohler, on 10/10/2007, -20/+32Typical GM -- develop and electric car just to crush them. Hire Limbaugh just to make yourself look stupid.
- spunkz, on 10/10/2007, -2/+12Burried for inaccurate. GM has a contract with Premiere Radio Networks and not specifically Rush Limbaugh. Their ad has appeared for all of their programs.
- bblades, on 10/10/2007, -11/+19In other news, Limbaugh has also been named the new President of the NAACP
- brian1625, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9Yeah, I was going to make this very point. This is the market that GM needs to push environmentally friendly cars that GM has
invested so much money in. I don't think it's a brilliant idea, but I can see why. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -11/+19NAACP is a racist organization like the KKK.
- tehpwnrate, on 10/10/2007, -1/+8I wonder if this is o0x0o, in his new form (ran out of numbers to put in place of "x")
- catalysis, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7I listened to it and it was just a regular ad. At one point he mentioned fuel economy, I'm not sure why that's bad.
- relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -2/+9Holy ***** *****, you're insane.
- vampiregabe, on 10/10/2007, -6/+11Actually Limbaugh has lost all the weight and is probably skinnier than your computer-desk sitting cheesy-poof eating fat ass.
Grow a ***** brain before commenting next time. - obxjdt, on 10/10/2007, -5/+10I know you people don't really think Rush really wants to have dirty air/water, spend more than he has to for gas, etc, etc.....You should listen to his whole show for 3-4 weeks. You might still disagree with him, but you'd see that when he says things like he bought a Maybach because it has ***** mileage (I strongly doubt he said it like that, if at all), that he's saying it tongue in cheek. You would also know that he never said "believes global warming is bogus", but that it's highly unlikely that man is causing it, and I agree with that position.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6Oh god. I'm listening to it now. They play this DURING THE RUSH LIMBAUGH PROGRAM. This is not news, you moonbats should be in favor of Rush agreeing to plug their eco-friendly cars. Come on people, this isn't something to be getting outraged over.
- openthink, on 10/10/2007, -23/+27these gm morons give regular "morons" a bad name. even if you're not supportive of doing more environmentally, the decision (using limbaugh as environmentalist) as a "business" matter has got to terrify gm shareholders. what's next, gm asking the fed gov't & taxpayers for a bail out? oh yea, they did that already...a bunch of times.
- Nutmegan, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Those idiots, thinking hiring Rush Limbaugh would generate publicity and controversy. What are they on?
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6he didn't say that global warming wasn't real.
- Cwo655321, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5maybe he should be doing commercials for apple instead? He always talks about mac's and how much he likes using them over any others (even linooks).
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I hate GM cars, but I don't mind seeing them using a conservative icon to reach out to conservative people to get them to consider buying an environmentally friendly car.
- curunir, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3You're wrong about Chrysler. Apparently you forgot about the Jeeps.
- Vicujozobenaxod, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Why would this be a bad idea? You guys do realize there are millions of listeners to the Rush Limbaugh Show and squat on Air America right? This is hitting a large audience, it's effective. I guess some people here can't figure that out. It's ok to hate Rush because he's successful and right though!
- p51d007, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Yeah, all you that live in Algores version of "reality". It's called the chicken (*****) little syndrome.
Base your OPINIONS on 50 years worth of data and call it science, when, the earth has these crazy things called CYCLES.
Hell, with all the glaciers melting in Greenland, they uncovered an abandoned silver mine which has been buried for 400 or so years.
Now, if the earth is "warmer than it ever has been", where in the hell did that silver mine come from? Aliens? - Godzilla, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3This ad is for his listening audience, it was never targeted at the general public. I doubt he is doing any damage to GM.
- macsaver, on 10/10/2007, -12/+15Who cares?
- Urusai, on 10/10/2007, -5/+8You mean, get them on board the appearance of green so they can continue plundering oil. You know, Exxon: The Green Company, or Du Pont: Excellence in Sustainability, or Standard Coal Strip-Mining Corp: Building a Greener Tomorrow.
- franksmith, on 10/10/2007, -9/+12You "GM really blew it" people are the morons. Ever stop to think that there are people on the right that like to buy cars too? It's called covering all the bases. Bunch of Lefty loons think they have everything figured out............ good grief
- InfidelAl, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6Hardly. I drive a Honda Civic HX. I hate people littering and have no desire to drive a Hummer. Oh yeah, and Anthropogenic Global Warming is a crock of crap. See, you can have concern for the environment and disregard such junk science at the same time.
- vampiregabe, on 10/10/2007, -28/+31Rush Limbaugh has a larger viewership/listenership than the major nightly news. More people listen to him than NPR, Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC COMBINED!
And global warming is NOT MAN MADE!
/Rant - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3So you're saying the NAACP isn't racist?
- torrange, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Listen to the ad!!! This was a piece of paper that came across his desk, as one of many. Every day, radio personalities are given a stack of "live" style ads to read. It is their job to sound interested and part of GMs campaign to speak of their fuel-efficient vehicles (just like Toyota and Honda). He is not advocating fuel efficiency, notice he speaks of his Suburban and Cadillac at the beginning of the ad. He is doing nothing more than honoring his contract to the radio station.
- kylesellers, on 10/10/2007, -7/+10What, so you DON'T want Republicans to buy fuel efficient cars? I'd say this is the most effective way to get them on board with being "green."
- titansix, on 10/10/2007, -16/+18Nice job GM. Ugh
- lokee73, on 10/10/2007, -15/+17Whoever decided to hire Rush shouldn’t be let out of the house without a helmet!
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2How old are you?
- Casedot, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2you fail to mention how much it warmed...that is pretty important, because the warming we are seeing now is a lot worse than in those time periods.
- spudfrog, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2When's the last time an advertisement swayed your opinion about anything? People need to start thinking for themselves.
- p51d007, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2they have a life. It's called bitching and moaning about how everyone else is living their lives.
I just wish they would shut up and live the live THEY want to live and leave me the f**k alone and let me live MY life
the way I want to, not the way THEY want me to.
Some of these idiots believe in free speech....as long as you believe what they believe. Personally, I think that is part of the
problem. I could care less if you sleep with a horse, drink piss and howl at the moon every night. That is YOUR choice, not
mine. Liberals want everyone to conform to their opinions. Unless you are one of those northeast liberal elitist types. They want
everyone to drive a econo-box or worse, not drive at all, while they fly around in their private jets, drive in their limos preaching to
everyone else how to live. Just sit down and shut the f**k up. - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2No. If American car companies made better cars, and had reasonable prices, then maybe I'd buy one.
I actually just bought a new car, checked out Mazda, Toyota, and Honda. One dealer also was a Hyundai dealer and showed me the Sonatas. Best car for the price. I wound up getting it for 2k under invoice plus a 2k rebate from a different dealer.
The point? Even Hyundai makes decent cars now, and American cars still suck. - tomahawk0122, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3I've heard this before and want to know if it is true.
1910-1940 earth warmed
1940-1975 earth cooled
1975-now earth warms
I've heard a few people tell me that and just would like to hear the other side of the coin from the warming believers. (They've also said something about atmospheric tempatures not escalating with surface temperatures.) - pencilneck, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Some of us are seeing where the term "wacko" is coming from. I fail to see any issue with this. He points out that GM has more cars that get 30+ mpg than any other car line... oh no. He got to take a tour of the GM design center... damn him. Seems like people are really only bitching and moaning because Rush did the ad and it is for GM. No one seems to give a damn that Mike Rowe is doing Ford truck ads. Mike talks about cleaning the enviroment up all the time then plugs a carbon spewing truck. (just making a point, I couldn't care less that Mr Rowe is plugging for Ford... good for him).
- p51d007, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Arguing with these dim-wits is like wrestling with a pig. You both get dirty and the pig (liberals) love it.
- SonnyW, on 10/10/2007, -4/+6237 people so far.
Also there's this "Who Dugg or Blogged this" button on the top. Can't miss it. - willow0285, on 10/10/2007, -4/+6People who think that global warming isn't real/doesn't exist are people who don't want to stop driving their big cars and throwing trash everywhere. Living green doesn't mean changing your life, just a few small changes to some aspects.
- nedzeve, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5Burried for Rush bashing.
- vampiregabe, on 10/10/2007, -3/+4Do you breathe? So your asinine Carbon-Free title is just as must ***** as mine. Hypocritical, don't you say?
- Error601, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1GM doesn't need to market to liberal kiddies that don't have any money to buy cars.
- alacrity2005, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I think you actually have to be poor to receive a government handout... that is unless your multinational corporation in which case the gov't has tons of money and tax breaks for you.
- eexlebots, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2You mean, more of a recession than we're entering now? Why, I guess jobs wouldn't shift into new industries to make things more efficient and such. Wait...
