Facebook Carpool: the First Useful Facebook Application
facereviews.com — Carpool is one of the few actually useful Facebook apps out there right now. Carpool allows you to create carpools right from Facebook. It takes full advantage of Facebook ’s social network and allows users to find rides to different locations.

- Swifty227, on 10/11/2007, -11/+6I, for one, welcome our new carpooling overlords.
- googletravel, on 10/11/2007, -2/+13this is awesome. now there is something on facebook that is not a total waste of time.
- sepultura, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Yeah but what I like the most about this app is the fact that it's aimed at improving the environment, which every can agree on.
- nreynolds, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5you obviously haven't downloaded the ZOMBIE application.
- interg12, on 10/11/2007, -2/+17no no no, see, unless i can draw on somebody elses wall, or do some sort of ultra-poke, i don't want it. i dont care how Useful (this on is), or how well designed (unlike every other app, minus ilike and last.fm) it is! phooey.
- enchanted65, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16WOW!! I personally despise all the new apps that are on ...food fight?? fortune cookie? wtf???? I was beginning to think that facebook was becoming the next myspace...until i saw this app!! I totally love it...its well designed, useful and the creators listen to the users and take feedback :)
- rumford, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6This is a great application, well executed, fully integrated and has great social meaning. I am a huge fan. Other facebook developers could take a cue from these smart guys.
- lashrac606, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7Hmm - I think I could get a few more victims that way. Good idea.
- VigilanteP, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8Who else plans on taking random rides across to country just so they can ride with hot females!! Come on... no one??
Oh. - Disease, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13It's about time. I'm tired of getting superpoked.
- evilelf2407, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7evilelf2407 throws a sheep at Disease

- johnkyoungoh, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11This kind of innovation is what separates Facebook from Myspace.
- floppyparty, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7"There are still a few kinks Facebook and the makers of Carpool are trying to iron out. We appreciate your patience as we try to fix these issues. Your problem has been logged - if it persists, please come back in a few days. Thanks!"
- newbert, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Sorry about this...our server wasn't as robust as I though. I'm working on an upgrade now, but I'm not sure how long it will take.
- newbert, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Fixed. Should be working.
- butch3r, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4I swear I thought of this a while ago.
actually I found my post. http://butch3r.wordpress.com/2007/03/28/route-system/- maherjabr, on 10/13/2007, -0/+6Somebody give this man some brownie points!!!
- heythisismyname, on 10/11/2007, -2/+16lets see how long this lasts..... The first hot babe to offer a ride is getting the spookiest ***** showing up (not me i swear)
- Tige21i, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1someones gonna get myspace raped off this, its inevitable.
- earliodookie, on 10/11/2007, -3/+2cool app but i'm still burying it cause this isn't the "first useful" application. theres useful ones and plus theres an app that does something like this already anyways...
- Bahman1234, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2I figure the point of Facebook is that there is LESS chance of riding with creepy guys who want to ogle you, and MORE trust in sharing rides...for girls its way better than something like craigslist where you know jack about the other person.
At least you can know something about the person in advance, talk to common friends and get a sense of who the other person is before sharing a vehicle with them- mancat, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1so if you know someone (or, at least one of their aliases), they won't rape you?
- Bahman1234, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0well at least you can make a better decision on whether they'd rape you or not. Like if its another girl, the chances are small. Or if its a guy who's not your friend but you've got 100 friends in common with, two of whom he dated. Is there a possibility that he's still a rapist? Sure but you can never totally rule that out. You can just feel more comfortable with a decision
Its your choice in the end whether you feel you can trust the other person. The fact is Facebook reduces these 'trust barriers' by giving you more information about a person, after which you can make a better decision for yourself as to what risks you're comfortable taking.

- boxxa, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Bring on the highway rapes
- BosnianBomber, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1nobody goes to D&D meetings, so I'll NEVER get a ride, =(
this is actually kind of a dangerous idea, what if you are kidnapped or get a ride from your enemies,
what if... - emiles, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4The fact that diggers think that facebook is only as good inasmuch as it is purely practical cracks me up. Facebook is a *social* website. Most of the apps are there to drive social interaction, and so they are mostly fun nonsense, kinda like drinking games.
- an10ae, on 10/11/2007, -4/+3I am an American. There are no free rides here. Now get your smelly hippy communist a** outta my car!
- an10ae, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Come on seriously Digg. It was a joke jeesh.
- an10ae, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1Come on seriously Digg. It was a joke jeesh.
- Moonlitnight, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1facebook actually having something useful? that's a definite first.
- iKurisu, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3w000t!!!
easy $$$ - MacBigotDotCom, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0Yup, that’s exactly my first thought.
At least, if you do get murdered and chopped up into tiny glovebox-sized pieces, the cops can just go to your Facebook page and find out who you were planning on riding with for that weekend trip to the nearest Apple Store. - seventhstreet, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3What a great idea...this a very useful service and also has social value...I think this will be long in use after the horoscope and the fortune cookie type of amusements have lost their appeal
- Autofac, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Neat to see these applications that I hate so much put to decent use.
- cbrunet, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3You mean, first useful application BESIDES the Digg Facebook app.
- HarveyBar, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2This is just asking for someone to be kidnapped and murdered.
- charyon, on 10/13/2007, -1/+3I think it's a great idea. Besides how many axe murderers could there be
