- wealer, on 10/10/2007, -2/+28Wow. Very cool. I think wind turbines are beautiful.
- ironicsans, on 10/10/2007, -1/+27Not enough runway. It'll never get off the ground.
- jbenson2, on 10/10/2007, -1/+23Bahrain has no energy shortage and they still use wind turbines.
But our beloved alcoholic senator Ted Kennedy continues to fight wind turbines off the coast of Massachusetts (NIMBY) - what a flaming liberal hypocrite! - disabled4diggin, on 10/10/2007, -1/+11That is a big horse!
- asdfvidkeasfdl, on 10/10/2007, -2/+11No it just doesn't make any sense and was a pretty lame attempt at a joke.
- iching, on 10/10/2007, -0/+9The wind generators are made by the Danes.
- iching, on 10/10/2007, -0/+6Having the two buildings there causes an increase of pressure, aka bernoulli principle, which increases the air speed that normally would not occur in a static environment. When the fluid passing through the tube reaches the narrow part, it speeds up. http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.allstar.fiu.edu/aero/images/pic3-2.gif&imgrefurl=http://www.allstar.fiu.edu/aero/flight32.htm&h=179&w=316&sz=4&hl=en&start=10&um=1&tbnid=gS_JXuX9f_PTfM:&tbnh=66&tbnw=117&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dbernoulli%2Bprinciple%26svnum%3D10%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dsafari%26rls%3Den%26sa%3DN
- jokerthief, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5I fail to see the irony. ???
- merrickx, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Lol.. exclusive.
I was just over there looking at that building. They're probably exclusive because the windows are actually clean in the pictures. With all the sand, a building gets dirty almost a day after the washer clean them. Actually I didn't see all the pictures before I started typing. You can see the comparison in the link between the clean and the sandy.
I'll be back over there in a couple months. I'll be sure to take some pictures of it for you diggers. Also, I'm going to take pictures of the rural areas. Found a lot of good and crazy stuff last time. I'll just have to take the pictures discreetly. - p0tent1al, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I laughed. Don't worry about it.
- FadieZ, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Bahrain - The U.A.E's little sister.
- Grindelwald, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4I agree with randy panda. Global warming is an inside job!
- Dohko_Xar, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Ignorant.
- zenatek, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Anyone else see the ad on that page with the picture of the smiling bum? It links to this website full of smiling bums.
http://www.cleanishappy.com/ - onewingedangel9, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I have to agree. I'm of a liberal viewpoint and I think Ted Kennedy is ridiculously hypocritical when it comes to that issue. "Oh, I'm all for wind power.....as long as it doesn't actually affect ME!"
- jokerthief, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I wonder how much power they will generate.
- diggless, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2its kind of a joke, if they wanted to make a difference they would power the entire building renewably, not just a small fraction. Also they would have made a bigger effort to use better materials.
this looks good, but doesn't actually do much to make a difference. - cygnus2112, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Oh no, those bastards killed my cumin!
- Sornos, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Those three could easily power that building. A small farm can power a city. I imagine 3 can power a single building.
- BulletsforRingo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Yeah, but where they're going...they won't need roads.
- ohanon, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Or my ocean front view
- crossers, on 05/14/2008, -0/+0ok I think it's cool!
- alanwatt, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0ahh now the newly rebuilt babylon marking the 10,000 year cycle of the ''heavenly plan'' as refered to by george senior bush on september the 11th 1991 is nearing it's completion soon they will be able to sustain themselves
bringing the elite's plan ever near to it's completion.
www.cuttingthroughthematrix.com - asdfvidkeasfdl, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2lol
- spyd3rweb, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1i bet one of those things couldnt even power a single floor of that building.
- PieterOpie, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0It seems a great idea but something about it makes me uneasy. If anything were to go seriously wrong those blades could do a lot of damage. Pretty architecture and huge industrial turbines.... an odd combination. I wonder if the rest of the design is energy efficient or are these things largely a trendy thing installed more as a statement about the times we live in. If the buildings are the usual energy hungry monsters then it is all a bit of a wank and not really all that clever.
- BeerRules, on 10/10/2007, -2/+2It seems kinda wasteful, I mean the whole point of wind farms are to put the blades up on their own pole so they can pivot into the wind gaining the maximum energy gain from the wind. Maybe they wanna seem as though building management being environmental friendly but it seems like they could be more productive else where and not on the building.
- mydave, on 07/31/2008, -0/+0wind turbines are very cool.

- acebrickman, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1Bahrain World Trade Center?
digg down the other one

- TomP, on 10/10/2007, -1/+1I like house its being incorporated into the bulidings design looks smart
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1Website is lagging hard already... mirror at http://pic.bestpicever.com/piles/?s=wtcturbine if you cannot get pics
- nick111, on 10/10/2007, -1/+0Not ignorant... religious. For him, whether the climate is changing or not is a question of "belief".... no amount of evidence will convince him otherwise...
... which is pretty hard-core considering both the Vatican and the Pentagon are... on the side of the scientists on this one.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20548340/ - ultralights, on 10/10/2007, -4/+2global warming is a Natural occurrence! the earth cools, the earth get hotter, the earth cools, its called a natural cycle. we are coming out of a Mini ice age.. it will get warmer! DuH! the oceans will rise, a little, the weather will change, but nothing it hasn't ever done before...
as said before, i dont believe we are contributing to the natural events called global warming, but im all for cleaner air and less pollution!
though i was wondering, just how will those turbines spin to face the prevailing winds? - dunderballer, on 10/10/2007, -3/+1Whoosh
- rald84, on 10/10/2007, -2/+0it'd make a difference if we put wind turbines on our world trade ... oh. right.
// bad taste - vonskippy, on 10/10/2007, -5/+3Ironic how all the advanced engineering and construction is being done for them by Europeans.
- RandomGuySteve, on 10/10/2007, -4/+1Yeah, and it'll help control the bird population.. just don 't look down below.. it's not pretty
- dunderballer, on 10/10/2007, -4/+0Sorry, I better explain that too. It was the sound of the joke going over your head. As for the first comment, jet impellers are called turbines also. Not sure what you didn't get.
- Grindelwald, on 10/10/2007, -7/+2Global Warming is an inside Job!!! Just watch how it is trying to promote its agenda of "conserving the environment" by causing a rise in sea levels, melting of ice caps in both poles, increasing the temperature of the globe which is causing the destruction of spices, and a hell of a lot more of these insane "disasters" .
If you hear her say some nonsense about using wind power of some other methods of renewable energy, know that it was probably made up my some crazy scientist, who has nothing better to do than research and prove global warming is a reality. Global Warming is an inside job! AN INSIDE JOB! - dunderballer, on 10/10/2007, -12/+7I hear they are going to do the same with the new NYC World Trade Center but they will use the jets of two Boeing 767s for turbines.
What? Too soon? - randypanda, on 10/10/2007, -13/+5although i don't believe in this global warming ***** i am for conserving the environment
