Replace them. - yellowcakewalk, on 07/09/2008, -2/+12Too little, too late.
- Greenpointer, on 07/09/2008, -1/+8Nice work, Tim!
- stradf, on 07/10/2008, -6/+2Why do we even need government? We are smart enough to manage our states and countries without giving 20% of our taxes to these idiots.
Earth will massively change over the next 50 years. No one can deny that. Our only chance is... science. That someone finds a way to drastically reduce those gases.- GDOG5, on 07/10/2008, -1/+2noob
- Deathrah, on 07/10/2008, -1/+2How do you pay for science without Government????
- greenfyre, on 07/10/2008, -0/+2Science found a way, use only the energy you actually need and get an immediate 75% reduction - the thing is we didn't like that answer, it's just like those stupid Drs who keep telling us to quit smoking.
- tbhurst, on 07/10/2008, -1/+6Let me get this right, the G8 agreed to cut GHG emissions 50 percent by 2050 but did not set a baseline year to measure that cut from?
WTF?- Deathrah, on 07/10/2008, -1/+1Nice question!
- gavinhudson, on 07/10/2008, -0/+5Nice job on this article. It seems that the net result of the summit was "someone should do something." Come on guys... you can do better. Oh, and who's the 9th person in the photo?
- caponumen, on 07/10/2008, -0/+2My projections show we will have a 60%-70% cut in emissions by 2050 without any governmental action whatsoever. It's not a one move chess game folks and technology is rapid advancing.
Soon it will be cheaper to operate on alternative sources and the market will rapidly adapt to this reality.
Falling for a huge new tax scheme will only serve to further impoverish a large portion of the world with little or no benefit to the environment. It is this huge new tax base the carbon agenda supporters are salivating over and you can bet most of that will be stolen, wasted or diverted. Take a good had look at what your governments are providing you for your tax dollars and I think you can understand why giving them more is worse than useless. We are on our own.........- greenfyre, on 07/10/2008, -0/+2Except we need a 90%+ reduction more or less immediately http://doctorvar.com/hansen-describes-%e2%80%98pla ... http://www.physorg.com/news134398515.html http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/artic ...
Our metaphoric house is burning down and our leaders promise to try and put half the fire out sometime over the next few decades ... great
