- inactive, on 03/17/2009, -5/+23Ummm Why should we listen to this guy? He just was awarded the "honour" of the least green building in his country. Buckingham palace! 177 rooms of energy leaking, global warming splendor. This guys lifestyle actually makes Gore look legitimate.
With all his wealth, power and connections- why doesn't he at least TRY to practice what he preaches?
What a hippocrite! We need his speeches about as much as the world need the Royal Family.
Buckingham Palace tops London league table of least green buildings
Buckingham Palace has come top of the "dirty dozen" league of London's most environmentally damaging buildings.

The veteran says "see the camel over there?... yea use that" The new recruit looks at the veteran and goes "uhhhhhhhh no thanks".
A few months pass by and the new recruit goes to the veteran and says "I need the camel, my balls are going to explode" the veteran says "I thought so".
The next morning the veteran asks the new recruit "how was it?" The new recruit says "The camel kicked me a few times, and it smelled funny, but after a while it wasn't that bad"
The veteran looks at the new recruit and says "dude, we take the camel into town to look for chicks, what the hell were you doing" - lucy22, on 03/17/2009, -4/+20The one thing consistent about Charles is his concern for the environment. But I am starting to feel as though an ice age is coming with this cold winter.

- Dmilla16, on 03/17/2009, -11/+23"Explain why Kilamanjaro and Fuji have been without snowcaps for the first time in modern memory"
I'll tell you why, because "modern memory" is short as hell. The earth moves in cycles. It went to warming cycles when we weren't here, it is while we are here, and it certainly will again when we're all gone. An asteroid hasn't caused a catastrophe in "modern memory" either. Guess it couldn't possibly have happened before. - billricardi, on 03/17/2009, -4/+15Its JUST A METAPHOR people! It was a story taken from folklore, and Charles probably cribbed it from the very end of An Inconvenient Truth, which has a cartoon of the cute frog being slowly boiled and everything.
Yes yes, the frog would jump out. We know this. It is a model to illustrate a point and nothing more. We don't need Mythbusters on the case. Get a grip. - zacharytelschow, on 03/17/2009, -7/+17That's what generation of inbreeding combined with lead poising from chalices will get you, I guess.

For die hard Global Warmers, don't bother reading either link. One says we are not sure why the snow is gone and the other says it has proven that it isn't related to global warming. Just Digg me down and be done with it. - jnav121, on 03/17/2009, -1/+8so all baptist christians do not believe in global warming because one of the many used a wives tale? - ladnar016, on 03/17/2009, -3/+9Al Gore made the same comparison in "An Inconvenient Truth"...so this isn't a new statement or anything

- CoD4, on 03/17/2009, -1/+6Reminds me of a joke my friend told me.
This guy crashed his plane on a deserted island and has been living there for a few years.
Without any human contact, he was getting very lonely so one day he saw a camel walking around and decided to catch it and ***** it.
When he caught it and was about to do the camel, another plane crashed near by.
He decided to rescue whoever crashed, and found this beautiful girl that was trapped inside.
After being saved, the girl says to him, I am forever grateful, i will do ANYTHING you say
JUST HOLD THE CAMILLA FOR ME! - atomheartmother, on 03/17/2009, -4/+9I think Prince Charles should merge with Al Gore to form one, even larger ignoramus.

Speaking of decades, I already went through the same crap with man induced Global Cooling in the 60's and 70's. It was caused by jet contrails etc. They simply needed more research funds for the "scientists". *rolls eyes* - jarjarjanks, on 03/17/2009, -3/+7who the F cares what he has to say?
- frantzmail, on 03/17/2009, -3/+7Boiled frogs ? Send them to the French, they know what to do with them.
- BESTenemy, on 03/17/2009, -1/+4"Boiling the frog" is also a perfect metaphor for tax introduction. The income tax in this country started at 1% only for the highest income bracket and slowly progressed to cover virtually all income levels at a much higher level. Since climate change discussions always lead to carbon credt programs and emission taxation, we find ourselves again in the very same warm water.
The idea of climate preservation is noble. The methods proposed are nothing but scams and ponzi schemes led by sociopaths and enforced by those that don't understand how the planet works. - veriix, on 03/17/2009, -0/+3"It isn’t true – when the water gets hot the frog will jump out, but it does make a nice metaphor."
It does? - BLyday, on 03/17/2009, -10/+13I'll try and reserve judgment until I hear some facts FROM SOMEBODY WHO IS ACTUALLY A SCIENTIST.

- RagManX, on 03/17/2009, -1/+4But suppose, for a moment, that we *could* get MythBusters involved. Suppose they put Prince Charles in a pot of tepid water. Suppose they....
Nevermind. I don't want to picture him getting all hot and steamy. - norman619, on 03/17/2009, -2/+5"Furthermore, global warming is the dominant theory among an overwhelming percentage of people who have advanced degrees regarding the climate. What makes you think you are more qualified than they are?"
I'm gonna guess you never took a science class in your life. Majority rule does not apply in science. Science is not a democracy. Most scientists feared the detonation of a nuclear bomb would set fire to the atmosphere. Guess what? They were wrong. There are many examples of popular scientific thought being incorrect. Like it or not there are MANY experts in the fields of oceanography, geology, and climatology who do not buy into the popular view you seem to subscribe to. Tehy arne't talking out of their asses either. They have LOTS of basic science that supports them. That's good since they are scientists.
Here's some of them presenting thier own scientific take on the subject along with their data.

- mrmudgeon, on 03/17/2009, -6/+8Prince Charles said it so it must be true. Sheesh.
This issue is likely to die in the next few years with unfortunate consqeuqnces. While I dont support the CO2 theory of global warming, mostly I agreed with the remedies. I particularly see a need for an alternative to coal, natgas and petroleum.
In a recent Pew pole, climate change ranked a resounding 20th amoung issues that folks care about. - legolas68, on 03/17/2009, -3/+5As the global warming religion dies out, the followers get desperate and delusional.
- inactive, on 03/17/2009, -0/+2DankBuddz (who doesn't inhale) "Wow, you're so convincing. I'll go ahead and put my trust in reputable people that don't sit on their ass all day and talk about ***** they know nothing about."
Knock yourself out. It's true though....Oh- and remember Y2k? A lot of "experts" Chicken Littled that one too. All I know I was stuck in the ass on New Years watching systems I knew would not fail because the people that DO sit on their ass all day were my bosses and they were sold on it. Of course they all partied-
Heh- I did fill my bathtub with water though- so I could still flush my toilet. Because I knew the water department in my town had no budget to speak of and I figured the water pumps would quit. They didn't...and then I let the water out of my tub the next day. - inactive, on 03/18/2009, -0/+2takingcharge- Here is what I think. Global Warming is a debate at this point. But, the debate to me is meaningless and beside the point. The climate is changing and the climate has changed in the past, even before man was here to affect it. Sure, we affect climate- but is our contribution so great, that we could actually reverse the situation? I doubt it. Even if it were so, no way in hell we could work together on this with China India and other developing nations coming online.
But, we know, that petrochemicals are killing us and destroying the environment. It has infiltrated everything including our food air and water. Dead zones in the oceans from fertilizer runoff, plastic overtaking plankton etc. I think that this is clear and not a debate. For this reason alone we should mend our ways. But, it seems while we argue over CO2, that we tend to forget about the polluting effects of our actions.
Sometimes I wonder if this is not just what some folks would like us to do- argue about a debatable subject, rather than focus on a real threat. Meanwhile, it's business as usual and fortunes are being made.
Sadly, I think global warming is a dangerous diversion, because while we argue about it, business as usual goes on with fossil fuels. It is frightening how surrounded we are by oil- plastic, pest and weed control, gas, diesel, natural gas, asphalt it goes on and on. Even my glasses are plastic, my keyboard... - Enterres, on 03/18/2009, -0/+2WTF twinklyJesus?!?? I had to go to Dictionary.com to puzzle this one out. Definition of smog: "smoke or other atmospheric pollutants combined with fog in an unhealthy or irritating mixture."
Heat is what makes it humid - evaporating water. Smog is caused by excessive vehicle traffic for the most part, and is from what i've heard the reason why you get such beautiful sunsets in California. Who are the morons who dugg you up?? -
