- Jeromy, on 10/12/2007, -4/+16You can fnd a similar, but better photo of the bridge here.
http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=215151687&size=l - oxigen, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9That happens just about every day in San Fransisco
- elnerdo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9That's why he's ASKING, to see if anybody KNOWS that which is currently UNKNOWN.
- andrewa, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6It's a nice picture, but "1024x768 - best for larger monitors", plus that huge copyright strip at the bottom, why would I even consider using that as wallpaper...?
- dustedbunny, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6http://lava.nationalgeographic.com/pod/ (quote from the photographer and access to smaller sized wallpapers here. It changes daily so you might need to hit "previous" to get to it)
- Krettis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4That's not high-res.
- simpleid, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Because the world != San Fransisco
- miggie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Guys we don't live in San Francisco so that's why it's cool to us.
- salmonmoose, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I think 'hi-res' is a stretch, that picture shows up at about a quarter of my screensize.
- streak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Many, many far better photos exist of the GG Bridge than this. Yes, I love the bridge dearly, and that's my favorite vantage point of it and SF, but this really isn't a very good pic. No digg.
(1024x768 for "high resolution" monitors?) - MajorD, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The EXIF information contained within the image states "September 3, 2002" as the Exposure date. That date is changeable but most folks don't touch it.
- griz, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6How does this get to the front page?
This happens practically every day in San Francisco. - wh00dini, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2(Text and photograph from "San Francisco Bay, the Westward Gate," November 1969, National Geographic magazine)
- tipsqueal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Agreed.
- georgiecasey, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6Anyone know when it was taken?
- b7illsmith, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yes. And I've seen it quite a few times. It's called "being stuck in southbound traffic on 101". It's beautiful, but it sucks.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2It really happens.
Saw it in person once and it was breathtaking and spooky.
Beautiful town that S.F. - simpleid, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3It's not.
- MystyRayne, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Creepy. Beware of The Fog!
- ToxicBomber, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Welcome to cloud city
- ohsnap, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/thebridge/trailer/
- kilps, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3That is actually quite a cool photo ... but it needs some work to be of the same quality ... and we like desktop versions :)
- halosniper7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1even if it happens everyday (i live near it: east bay), its good for ALL the people who dont live there to see it
- chrisrosa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1ah yes...my commute every weekday. loves it.
- nunyabisnas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1this photo's kung-fu is weak...
it is soft, the colors need help, the composition is wonky ... how this photo can be classified as "amazing" is beyond mere mortal comprehension. two seconds at any community or stock photo site will produce better results. - YoNoSoyTu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Don't know exactly, but I have a photo nearly identical as the linked one so I don't think is amazing because that situation happens almost every summer morning in San Francisco.
And by the way mine is 1600x1280 so it's super-hi-res :D. - chojin42, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I never took the time to edit them, but they are similar:

- DagMX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1i agree..its a mountain out of a molehill..i like the one jeromy posted though. much nicer
- ASoggyWaffle, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2hes right ive only seen the golden gate 5 times and ive seen it like that b4, its still quite cool tho
- argstupidputer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Common on wide/large rivers.
Really cool, looks literally like a cloud on the ground. - honkyman5000, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4It's the fumes from all the residents smelling their own farts
- bdub92, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Living in the town just next to San Francisco, i must say that a sight like this is not uncommon. Heck, I see this everyday on my way to work.
- chillinit, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I wouldnt want to be driving on the bridge... I think id be like "***** where am I"
- LatentE, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I caught the Brooklyn Bridge a few months ago edged in fog.
http://www.tabblo.com/studio/stories/view_super/118178/i3266132/ - chrisrosa, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1weird that his comment got dugg down. wtf digg? i remember you when you were kinder and gentler.
- Urusai, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1It's photoshopped. By Godwin's Law, Addendum P, this discussion is done!
- tektalk, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2who cares if its photo shopped, it just looks cool.
- crumbelievable, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Sorry but that pic is ugly. I know it might be "interesting" because it looks like a city in the clouds or something, but the photograph is just plain ugly.
- KyotoWolf, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1the Nazis did it
- Solafa, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Very nice picture
- middleman, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Creepy!
- DontSayFanboy, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3and APPARENTLY the ANSWER is NO
PHOTOGRAPHERS typically DATE their PHOTOS and the SOURCE has NONE - Liam5, on 10/12/2007, -13/+8I wonder how much editing there is.
- SkaterDude, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1actually i dont even think it looks cool... i think it was a huge waste of time... Its fog, not that big a deal.. GAY!
- leftfield, on 10/12/2007, -13/+2" San Francisco, California, Date Unknown
