- redcolumbine, on 05/15/2008, -2/+65If you use instant, does it teleport?
- tbhurst, on 05/15/2008, -1/+38Man, I would never run out of fuel with this set up.
- inactive, on 05/15/2008, -5/+37I wonder what the truck would do on Meth? :-)
- BigManOnCampus, on 05/15/2008, -0/+30Technically all bicycles used by graduate students are run on coffee grounds when it gets to the end of the semester.
- gannondork, on 05/15/2008, -0/+15the truck would lose it's virginity in a dirty public toilet. That's what meth does.
- inactive, on 05/15/2008, -0/+12The truck can actually run on anything that will burn, including wood chips, old tires, and garbage. Though a bit uglier, this truck is more like the Delorean than anything else I've seen...
- CertifyedGoon, on 05/15/2008, -0/+11The question is what WOULDN'T that truck do on meth.
- tbk123, on 05/15/2008, -2/+12"fueled by Starbucks..."
- xcheats, on 05/15/2008, -0/+9It's not made as a solution to CO2 emissions. Its made as an alternative to petroleum products.
- jaymzdean, on 05/15/2008, -0/+8For long trips, you'll have to fill it to the brim.
- inactive, on 05/15/2008, -3/+12This seems like a obvious thing to ask, but doesn't burning something create CO2? To make gasification possible you have to heat the material, right. Unless you're using a battery powered electric burner, you have to burn something else to produce the heat, making more CO2, to burn some gasified material, which makes even more CO2. Kinda defeats the purpose of reducing CO2. Does anyone have a stupid hammer around, so that I can smack myself in the forehead in order to understand this insane concept?
- sockpuppets, on 05/15/2008, -0/+8I bet you'd have a serious case of road rage all the time.
- mmmmmbiscuits, on 05/15/2008, -2/+10"Viola, a caffeine-powered truck."
Have you got something against Cellos and Double Basses, punk? - Exilon, on 05/15/2008, -1/+8I'd run after it sniffing the exhaust pipe all day.
- bicyclethief, on 05/15/2008, -0/+7This truck is about 4 years away from being a Mr. Fusion.
- jemka, on 05/15/2008, -0/+6Phew. I thought I was the only one.
- DemDude, on 05/15/2008, -0/+6That's gotta smell awesome!
- bstew22, on 05/15/2008, -0/+5This truck and I have something in common
- o0adam0o, on 05/15/2008, -2/+7So im guessing Starbucks would be considered premium fuel?
- gannondork, on 05/15/2008, -2/+7holy ***** new comment system. Oh and using old coffee grounds seems practical, if you run a starbucks I guess.
- cheezintern, on 05/15/2008, -0/+5The faux wood grain siding adds a dash of classiness. I'd be in for one.
- drmobutu, on 05/15/2008, -1/+5Viva Chicken John!
- scottperezfox, on 05/15/2008, -3/+7$4/gallon of gas ... $4 for a latte. Not so economical, is it.
- elipabst, on 05/15/2008, -2/+6Miles per cup? Weird.
- mark076h, on 05/15/2008, -0/+4in the future we will be fighting wars to secure coffee fields and plantations!
- breadfred, on 05/15/2008, -0/+3Luckily coffee beans are in surplus.
- inactive, on 05/15/2008, -1/+4Because by definition it's only a partial burn, a wood gas generator only produces 4.5% CO2 by volume. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woodgas The big question is what kinds of emissions do actually get into the atmosphere.
- endlessoul, on 05/15/2008, -0/+3The best part of waking up is Quantum Folgers in your cup.
- Klarth, on 05/15/2008, -0/+3Voila.
Not viola.
A viola is a string instrument. - shamanlife, on 05/15/2008, -0/+3Maybe on the very first initial burn for the heating of the coffee grounds, but maybe after that you could use the excess heat from the exhaust to continue to gasify the coffee.
- mal1964, on 05/15/2008, -0/+3Runs fine until it crashes
- mark076h, on 05/15/2008, -0/+3latte would be like Premium gas, but you can get regular
- heiroglyph, on 05/16/2008, -0/+2Yes, but it seems to be French that's giving him problems.
- IDIGTHEDIGG, on 05/15/2008, -0/+2This is our future source to replace oil and gas :)
- mark076h, on 05/15/2008, -1/+3does it get better mileage if you put extra sugar in?
- twiztidsinz, on 05/15/2008, -2/+4Uglier than a DeLorean?? Now thats impressive!
- Jsmuli2, on 05/15/2008, -2/+4Truck also has a greasy-pimply face and is expected to have a heart attack or stroke in the next year or so.
Although apparently after it's 100th fill up, it will become super-fast and save people from a burning building. - Glum, on 05/15/2008, -2/+4i was thinking about posting a comment related to the post, but couldn't think of any, so i'll say it as it is: testing new commenting system ;)
- vcleniuk, on 05/15/2008, -0/+2Mmmmm... the smell of burnt coffee in the morning. :)
- quetranza, on 05/15/2008, -4/+6Viola? WTF?
"The gas is filtered on the way to the engine and, stringed instrument slightly larger than but similar to a violin, a caffeine-powered truck."
ENGLISH, MOTHERFARKER, DO YOU SPEAK IT? - inactive, on 05/15/2008, -0/+2Elitism is expensive.
- aserer511, on 05/15/2008, -0/+2Old, haggard, and runs on coffee? Sounds like a woman...
- biggsuccess, on 05/15/2008, -0/+2Of course, coffee is just about as expensive at gasoline!
- Dylson, on 05/15/2008, -0/+1You are NEVER the only one in anything.
- rkef, on 05/15/2008, -2/+3Now all we need is a vehicle that runs on ***** digg stories.
- Neemzor, on 05/16/2008, -0/+1Shh. Don't tell the corporations, or we will soon be depleted of coffee too..
- jpaolini, on 05/15/2008, -0/+1It was an observation, mainly referring to the handrails on the sides. No doubt it's a good vehicle to experiment with.
- Canadian0207, on 05/20/2008, -0/+1that is definitely NOT true. you need to take a high school science course again buddy.
- lead2thehead, on 05/15/2008, -0/+1Sounds good to me. A gallon of Starbucks coffee is cheaper than a gallon of gas these days.
- Dylson, on 05/15/2008, -0/+1...or coffee.
