- BostonVaulter, on 10/12/2007, -0/+27I think I would prefer being near bats than this huge centipede. My friend used to have a bat house in his yard, they helped out by killing bugs.
Plus this insect is just downright creepy. - Scruffydan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16how can anyone hate bats. What did bats ever do to you!
Seeing hundreds of thousands bats coming out of a cave at dusk is one of the most amazing things I have ever seen.

- Chompy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9I know how it feels, sometimes you just want to head out and grab a bat to eat.
- Delphion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7nice to watch this type of stuff right before going to sleep.
- Kypt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Flying mice, or a crawling killing machine w/ the muscular strength of a snake and the poison of one too? I'll take the flying mice...they look like cute flying hamsters and its bite won't kill me as fast...lol
- RichPowers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6THE CENTIPEDE better be the new villain in the next Batman movie...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5John Holmes sized . . .
- schnitzi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I hear this centipede's latin name is Ozzy Osbournius.
- Etheo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5No doubt, bats > ugly centipede.
I don't like animals much, but insects are just downright creepy and give me the shivers. I'll rather take a bat.
It's interesting to see that bats have insectoid (?) predators though... I always thought insects only eat other insects. Besides Man-eating ants and Zerglings... - ae92, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I don't know any Swedish, but I totally understood the second comment on that blog: "blääääää!!!"
- l33tspam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3man, we used to have giant tiger centipedes crawl into our house regularly, then we moved.
- jwhicks727, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3This is from a documentary called Life in the Undergrowth. The whole thing is full of awesome crap like this. Check it out.
- n1000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Thirteen inches the video says.
- n1000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2What a crazy video...The scene where it crawls over the swarm of beetles... Ugh.
- psychephage, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yeah, I don't know what it is about bugs and those kinds of animals, but they really creep me out. Watching that video kind of made my skin crawl. I know that they're kind of related to shrimps and lobsters and I have no problem with them. I'm not sure what it is about bugs from the land that freak me out so much. I guess there is not always a rational basis for fear.
- skilletsavior35, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2ya i used to be afraid bats now i have to worry about giant bat eating centipedes ..i think ill sleep with the light on tonight.
- JoeCool1986, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2:::Looks at the clock: 2:30 am:::
What's that? Did something move at the bottom of my bed? Who's there?
Then all of a sudden you feel something that feels like a thousand fingers around your leg. You throw back the covers and see a giant centipede injecting you with lethal venom. You only have a matter of seconds before you lose consciousness to ponder the sight of a giant centipede slowly devouring your entire body.
::: This has been a dramatization brought to you by Terminix. Call today :::: - ajitms, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Insects creep, so they're creepy. Shrimps swim, so they're swimmy and not creepy. Duh
- Coreguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2For Youtube Lover..

- bigt4lyfe91, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2dude, i'd choose the friggen bat over that centipede any day....its downright beastly, i'd be afraid it would eat my family, than taunt me about it, then make everyone think i ate my family, and then it would get me in my sleep....damn centipede...DAMN YOU BACK TO WHEREVER THE HELL YOU CAME FROM...
- node3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Sir David Attenborough, FTW!
- ThndrShk2k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"Hate bats? Grab yourself one of these..."

- garrettnb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3APJA0EedSE
- jizzimmy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That's insane. How the hell does it grab a flying bat as it's hanging by it's tiny hind legs.
- carebearwarrior, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Great googily moogily. I don't know about the rest of you, but I get chills just seeing that centipede.
- psychephage, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't know about that. I'm not afraid of snakes at all. I had a roomate with a ball python and really liked letting it move through my fingers. Also, crabs move a lot like insects and I'm not afraid of handling them. However, they had, maybe they still have, an exhibition at the Smithsonian museum of natural history entirely about bugs and I made myself go into it. My skin was crawling and I was creeped out the entire time. It was not a comfortable experience and I didn't come out of it feeling any less freaked out by bugs.
- thehans, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Damn that gives me the creeps! That centipede makes the Queen Alien from Aliens look like a puppy.
- Leech, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I hate those scary centipedes...
- TEHBunnyBoy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Water based creatures aren't expected to move like land based ones, so they're not as creepy, when we think about them. One of the main reasons insects, snakes, and the like creep us out, is because they move in an entirely alien way to us, and our brain tells us it's wrong, so we dislike it. It's mostly subconscious crap that gets in the way basically.
- Nerys, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Ok I need some clarification here.
Are those really tiny bats or is that a fraking massive insect ? how big is that thing ??? - igraham09, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"its bite won't kill me as fast"
or at all... i'm pretty sure bats aren't venemous
or are they? - johnlewin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Used to have to check the bed for these things. 100 legs of creepyness with a wicked bite.
- psychephage, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I sometimes wonder if me watching Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom at a young age had anything to do with my fear of bugs.
- frizzipazzi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1which is the ugliest?
- jimmytango829, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1bird-eating spider is worse...
- nocode, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2thanks. this video just completely ruined my morning. that thing is freak'n huge for an insect
- alexrandall, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I thought chipmunk eating head of mouse was grossss
- TEHBunnyBoy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hell, I have two snakes...a ball, and a California king. I'm not saying everyone's going to have the same reaction to all of these creatures (i don't personally find myself scared of anything I know, can't kill me...don't expect me to go pet a lion, idgaff if it's "tame", but I'll ***** around w/a tarantula any day). I'm just saying, that's most likely a major role in your fear of them.
- danmanx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ahhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- TEHBunnyBoy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Uhm...how many of you actually sleep in CAVES!? From what I saw, it doesn't look like this thing leaves the caves either, considering it's food supply is most easily caught there. Although ya' might be able to attract them, w/the bat-houses you can buy...turn one into a giant centipede o'doom...feeder. :D
- lozaning, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0dont anyone tell JOKER
- DPowers08, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I'd rather have a few bats in my yard at night than this massive centipede plus swarms of mosquitoes.
- spott, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0 I don't have a problem with going up and petting a lion, and while warry... i wouldn't be at all "creaped out" by a lion, even if it weren't tame. But insects creap me out. Its not so much the movement, as the needle like feet. Insects don't have paws, or hands or feet like animals do... they usually have a single point of contact, and THAT, is what i find creapy when they crawl over you.
- frant1c, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Peter Jackson spent all that special effect money for nothing.
- jarvuss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Whoa!! That is the creepiest thing I've ever seen!! I thought the bird eating spider was creepy.
- asst, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Amazingly freaky. These are the vids that freak you out.
Mummy I can't sleep. -
