Add planning, dedication, and the ability to adapt when necessary, not to mention learning from your mistakes and the mistakes of others. Top all of that with education, whether in a classroom or in the "school-of-hard-knocks" (or both), add persistent hard and smart work and watching out and taking advantage of good opportunities, and then maybe, just MAYBE, you might experience some success. Of course, I suppose that all depends on what your definition of success is.

I was born the year after they broke up and I don't understand why we even still speak of them. Their songs are horribly written. They are only notable because they ushered in punk. It's not that i need every songs to sound like street spirit(Radio Head), but really it's simple stupid rhymes mixed with bad music with a snarl on it. It sounds like what my musician friends played when they were 13, writing ***** songs.

What do you listen to? Crap like the Backstreet Boys? Holy *****, you ask why we even speak of them? The whole idea of ***** the government was the single most important theme of the time, and the way things are right now, it fits perfectly now, too. Go listen to some other punk bands like the Clash, make sure to read the lyrics because I KNOW you won't know them, and try to understand something that was as important then as it is now. The Sex Pistols launched that era.
