- Cookiepencils, on 10/15/2007, -2/+8If we can just get everyone aware of this stuff... and just in case you think you're not all that interested in the tax info, just wait until you see this video. It's not just taxes, people. Our government is trying to lead us toward fascism under the guise of protecting us from terrorists. In fact, they are not just trying, they're succeeding. If we can just make the American people aware, maybe we can stop the powers that be while we still have at least a few of our civil liberties in tact!
- WordyRappington, on 10/15/2007, -0/+5I would welcome this. That way people could see exactly what their representatives stand for. But I doubt they will ever pass such a law, or allow it to come to a vote. Congress would never expose themselves like this. If such a bill came up, reps would be flooded with emails and calls to vote against it. What if they voted on it and it was voted down due to popular pressure? No, they would never allow such a bill to ever reach the floor. To do so would expose the entire system.

It will do away with all federal taxes and create a booming economy, while still funding the government. Taxes will be simpler, it will help the poor, tax evasion will be more difficult, drug dealers will pay taxes, and prices of goods won't change.
It already has dozens of sponsors in congress.

- akirksey, on 10/15/2007, -4/+6Yeah, I know, there are a few of these on the upcoming video page, but this ABSOLUTLY needs to reach the front page. This is one of the most important videos I've ever seen.
My girlfriend who's been in denial about this whole new world order that's coming around was in tears by the end. ***** the stupid digg cartels that are keeping videos down and help me get this on the front page! - Akiranika, on 10/26/2008, -0/+1I have questions on this subject that have been nagging me for years: When, exactly, did I ever agree to pay taxes? Why does the location of my birth - a complete accident, of course - automatically mean that I must work to, first, support the US government and then concern myself with my own interests? This, of course, leads to other interesting and equally nagging questions such as: What is the difference between this system our government uses against us to fund its wants and needs and the forced payments such as "protection money" that criminal gangs are famous for? The bumper stickers say we are "Free." I am told it means "Free from Tyranny." Free from what tyrant, exactly? The only tyrant I've ever known was not the British - it has always been the IRS telling (Yes, TELLING - Not asking!) me how much I have to give them out of the earnings I worked so hard for. Other bumper stickers say "Freedom Isn't Free." Granted, but shouldn't I have the say-so on how much I am will to spend? The politicians say to speak with my vote. Voting is NOT the answer it is made out to be. Many are not concerned with income taxes (It must be nice!). Many elected officials will say what it takes to get into office and then succumb to various pressures that cause them to vote in ways completely contrary to the desires of the voter.
No, I never could find sufficient answers. I spent 20 years in the US Navy and still could not find any answers. Now, I do not live within the continental US for that reason. Still, the IRS manages to find me via the leash they have maintained on me for many years; a leash I cannot afford to entirely sever.
The only real answer I've been able to determine is more of the decision I made for myself and my family: I am not a pawn. I am not some kind of "indentured servant" of the US government that was born to join the collective that supports the spending decisions made by a select few. I am a human being, an individual who considers the welfare and stability of MY family and MY life choices to be my most important concerns. It is indeed impossible to completely distance ones self from the clutches of the IRS and still be a US citizen but one can find ways to make their reach a greater effort! Also, I applaud the efforts of all who successfully find ways to pay less that the IRS would prefer! I find that not living in the US and the knowledge that I am not adding to the cash flow there does have some small consolation! - beasty_dave_Mk2, on 10/11/2007, -2/+3FREE CAPONE
- spocksbrain, on 10/15/2007, -9/+5You hip kids and your crazy conspiracy theories. Good luck getting away with not paying taxes.
- inactive, on 10/15/2007, -7/+2This movie is misleading in so many ways and filled with the typical conspiracy nuts idiocy.
Way back then, the initial debate among intelligent people never was about lacks of laws to pay taxes. There are plenty of laws about paying taxes, look it up for yourself, or hire an expert to do it for you. No, the concern was about privacy issues for personal info given to the Department of Justice when filling income tax return to the IRS. Some lawyers and tax experts debated about it.
At some point the conspiracy nuts stepped in and started making ignorant claims whining about not being required to pay taxes.
Your free democracy was founded on contribution from the people in all sort of taxes, and income tax is one of them. Do your part of the contribution, pay your ***** taxes and shut up, or move to China. - fuzzmeister, on 10/15/2007, -7/+1You know, if a big enough deal gets made about this, they will just pass a law that specifically requires you to pay the taxes...
