- dvsbastard, on 05/07/2009, -0/+38Step 1 should be "Get off Digg!"
Yeah, it's not going to happen,,, - NickLee808, on 05/07/2009, -0/+7Oh great. Perfect timing. This list shows up AFTER finals week.
- ngb5012, on 05/07/2009, -0/+61-10) Adderall
- ViscidGobs, on 05/07/2009, -1/+6The best way to stay on top of your work is to have sex with your boss.
- opiniastrous, on 05/07/2009, -1/+5Honestly, I find the best way to get things done seems ridiculously easy, but actually requires a bit of effort to achieve.
1) Start it now, never later.
2) Write it down somewhere. Keep track of all your tasks.
3) Give small tasks preference. You get more done and pick up momentum.
4) Delete the e-mail/cross it off/wipe it off when you're done. Keep your workspace clean.
5) E-mail clutters your working life, and everyone else's. Talk to people as much as you can.
6) When you need to communicate with a lot of people, try not to do it one-by-one. Find a way to pass it to everyone all at once. In the military, they do it by orders. In the corporate world, they do it through meetings. If you don't like either extreme, just schedule quick briefs.
It's difficult for me to communicate the implicit knowledge I have about this stuff, so what I've presented here might seem so simple, so basic - like I'm teaching you to tie your laces - that you'd find it easy to ignore. Seriously though, just give my tips a chance - there's a reason I believe in them enough to bother passing them on. - selesse, on 05/07/2009, -0/+3I really like how they used fortnight twice in this article.
- dragonrebornn, on 05/07/2009, -0/+2ya but this might not be the best time to start asking for less work...

- theodenking, on 05/07/2009, -0/+2But... what if you don't?
- rolf, on 05/07/2009, -1/+2If you work a job, with a schedule/shifts, being on digg probably doesn't matter after hours....
- girishkolari, on 05/07/2009, -0/+1Voila help me to reduce work overhead and make me more efficient http://digg.com/d1qMwc
- lagoamedia, on 05/21/2009, -0/+1All great advice.
I try to do many of these things. The days I do I seem to get more done.
I would add to this list try to focus on the positive things that are happening and what you HAVE accomplished. It is easy to get overwhelmed and then depressed and when that happens we get nothing done. Remember that accomplishing something each day is better than nothing. It is easy to get the attitude that if I can't get it all done I might as well do nothing and just watch TV. - Nesh, on 05/07/2009, -1/+2Ewww, my boss is a dude...
- ribfeast, on 05/20/2009, -0/+1Step 11: Direct workflow (like a boss)
